Entry mods usually consist of: exhaust system & intake, remap & boost increase, the sidemount intercoolers are best upgraded & keeping as sidemounts but FMIC's are used mainly for looks! The clutch will struggle with a boost increase & will likely start to slip so an uprated clutch is required - a lightweight flywheel is a good mod at this stage too. A lightweight crank pulley is a nice addition as well. Then it starts to get big bucks - bigger turbos & injectors are the next upgrade. Decats are risky on stock turbos & can cause smoking due to the design of the turbo although many do run them. The cams can be left unless you are chasing real big power - generally if you are going for bigger turbos a rebuild is a good idea with forged pistons etc. good luck! :cool3:

Out of hibernation (briefly!)
Very nice :thumbup1:

bigger alloys
Wheels will transform a car & add some individuality if that what you want. 16" wheels are tiny on such a large car now days so does make the zed look dated IMO. Still - if you like the stock look then consider a refurb & stick with them! :)

Just waxed my car! Pics
They are indeed Jade R's - bought them new off a member in black & had them redone in sparkle silver at a wheel refurb company I use :) PS - I hate cheese! :hurl:

Not sure of the exact make but it is a Carnauba Wax that my valeters use at work - they put some in a tub for me! :)

My R33 GTR Brembo brake upgrade!
Thanks guys :) am well pleased with this & an excellent upgrade for the price. Was considering other options for upgrades but am very pleased with what I got!

My R33 GTR Brembo brake upgrade!
Now with the caliper bolted up - the small brake pipe does not line up so if in good order you can reshape this - if corroded badly then make up & fit a new pipe: Finally with the wheel on: I have some Brembo caliper stickers coming soon so will post final pics once these are fitted! :w00t: Braking performance is hugely improved although I did have some sticking pistons on my old calipers. Great upgrade for the price I paid (£300 for the calipers & around £30 for some OE pads).

My R33 GTR Brembo brake upgrade!
Installed my Brembo brakes from an R33 GTR today. Heres a pic of the brakes I got: The brake discs were free from wear but were badly pitted & corroded! The calipers were pretty flakey with the lacquer peeling off & looked a bit tatty - I made sure the pistons were all nice & free (they were!) & removed & cleaned the bleed nipples. Then flatted them off for painting with some high temp paint & lacquer. Heres one flatted off & one in base coat: And a couple of pics finished with the lacquer on: To do the swap remove the caliper by unbolting the 2 rear caliper bolts & remove the short steel pipe connecting the brake hose to the caliper as in this picture: This will leave you with the hub like this: Note that although the R33 calipers use the same M12 bolt size to hold the calipers on the thread is finer on the Z32 so make sure you get the R33 bolts if doing this upgrade! The backplate needs a little reshaping to clear the new larger 324mm disc: OK - all prepped & on with the R33 disc - as you saw this was pretty corroded, luckily I have a brake skimming lathe at work so made good use of this! I had painted the centre of the disc & heres a picture halfway through the manual cut: And heres how it comes out after the skim:

Tracking - My car wont go on there ramps!?
just get your own & do it yourself! Thats what I done! Well - kind of, its where I work but I ordered the thing!! :tongue_smilie: Just need to convince them we need a dyno now! :w00t: Also remember that on the front only the tracking is adjustable as standard - rear both track & camber can be adjusted. I would not let kwik krap align my pushbike LOL! As mentioned try to find a local independant that has a 4 wheel alignment bay. Good luck!

600zx - Finally back to work....
it may sound grim but from all your problems you describe it sounds like something is too tight - if the starter is struggling to turn the engine over & oil pressure/temps are way out are you sure you have enough piston/cylinder clearance or the main/crank bearings are too tight? It may be worth another strip down to see what is going on as it may be something more simple than you think - new set of shells or a regrind/rebore etc dont give up quite yet - see what is causing the problem - nothing to lose in that! :detective:

scuttle panels
I had mine sprayed satin black - looks a bit more up to date than the grey :thumbup1: The corners of the mirrors that are grey I also had painted black - gloss here with a blue metalic fleck put in it :flowers:

anybody experienced vapor lock with PRVR removal?
done mine last year with no problems - might be worth making sure your fuel system is holding pressure

Had A Look Round This Today [458]
:rofl::rofl: Ah - do you mean a stock zed is not the quickest car in the world?! Nice car - dont like the rears either - look like the dodgy kits for a zed conversion - bet it would keep up then!! :whistling:

pads for R33 GTR calipers
yea, I know the DS2500's are a good pad - like you say very pricey at around £140 for the set. Have you heard of Dixcel pads - supposed to outperform the Ferodo with less brake dust that are supposed to be a problem with these. Have also found some Brembo pads quite cheap: http://www.lkperformance.co.uk/Brake_Pads/Brembo_BrakesBrembo_Standard_Brake_Pads_Front_Nissan_Skyline_-_R32_R33_GTR_1995_-_1998/274784?carId=179429 Only thing is they are listed as R32/R33 GTR pads & I thought the R32 only had stock brake setup not Brembos?

pads for R33 GTR calipers
No worries - quite a few members are running this as an upgrade & is supposed to be very good. Just shop around to get a good price as otherwise by the time you get the calipers & allow for discs & pads if you need those you are getting almost up to the price of a set of K Sports or similar!

pads for R33 GTR calipers
cheers - discs from the R33 GTR are 324mm with 4 pot calipers that bolt straight on to the Z32 hub so a good upgrade for us. Have been looking for a while but many of them are listed for around £500 which I think is way too steep for a second hand set of brakes! Will give them a good clean up & post some pics once installed :)

pads for R33 GTR calipers
After lots of changing my mind about what brake setup to get I have finally got a good deal on a front Brembo set from a R33 GTR - paid £300 which I thought was fair :hyper: Discs are corroded but no real wear lip so should be able to skim those on my brake lathe at work. Just need some pads - any recommendations? Not doing track work just a good fast road pad needed.
