Cleaning the interior... What's the best way to do it?
Lmfao! Lee I didn't realise your new car was a convertible? I've hoovered it already, but there's a little ground in dirt in to the fabric on the door cards and rear quarter panels etc. I want to get it as close to perfect before I fit it. I was thinking of using carpet shampoo on it but I don't want to ruin the materials. As for paying a mobile valeter, I would rather do it myself because I'd need to do it in the future again I'm sure. If it were the seats, I might have called someone in but it's the dash board panels, glove box, door cards, tranny tunnel and rear quarters.. The seats are getting swapped out for leathers next month so I want to get everything else clean and fitted up in time for the seat swap.

Cleaning the interior... What's the best way to do it?
Howdy do zedders.. I've just got hold of a black/dark grey interior, well everything bar the seats to replace all the tweed. Anyway, I want to give it a good clean before I fit it and just wondered if anyone knows the best way to clean any ground in dirt out of the fabric? I believe it's the original alcantara interior. The thing I'm concerned about is not damaging the backing or the fabric.. Has anyone got a good way to clean it without causing damage? Thanks in advance for the advice..

Altia Rear Quarter Window Panels
Well I'll be going for definite as my mum lives round the corner so can get a visit in there too as I haven't seen her since Christmas. I'll hopefully get round to getting my centre panel sorted this summer but ive got some headlights I'm planning on having sorted first.. Seen a set done with gold film over the insert that looked ace for my car. I won't be starting those til my interior is finished which I'm hoping will be done by mid March.. Then the dreaded Mot due in may. So gonna be quite skint and very busy for the next few months I imagine!

Altia Rear Quarter Window Panels
That's absolutely correct Dutch, they'd be much better as they'd be our very own phutumsch ones! Given time I think Andy will single handedly illuminate every Z in the land..

Altia Rear Quarter Window Panels
I may be getting this totally wrong but isn't this something that phutumsch can do? Andy??? Don't you do these mods? And I'm talking about the lit shades for the quarter lites before FunkySi get all funky again.. Anyway, not that I'm trying yo wind you up Si, but variety is the spice of life mate.. One man's chalk is smothers cheese and all that.. I don't think you can say that the mods changed people's opinions on the car at all. They may have changed yours but they certainly didn't make them any less attractive to me. I now own a full veilside kit which is about to be sprayed to match my bodywork. I like the look of my car as is ( I know the bonnet scoops make your eye twitch a little) but i decided that if I have the veilside kit, I can change it up every now and then.. Personally speaking, I love seeing what people do with their own car. It shows some creativity, some personalisation and shows the love and time and effort they put in to their cars.. Just like the human population, acceptance and tolerance is the key to inner peace.. C'mon now funky... Deep breaths... Let it go...

Yep, I'd love to pack the fishing rods in the car and take in Ireland.. Stop off at some nice scenic spots for a spot of sea fishing.. I've only ever seen Ireland in pictures and TV and I have to admit I am drawn to the emerald Isle.. I love the British coastlines and never go abroad for holidays. Venturing to Scotland in March for a salmon and trout fishing weekend on Loch lochy.. Ireland is gonna be done sooner or later and a tour with some fellow Z nuts would be great! Just have to edit cos I read it back and realised that it sounded like I was implying Ireland was Britain.. I meant I stick to holidays in Britain but would like to visit Ireland.. Well, you know what I mean! I have a few Irish friends and they would have jumped on me! Lol..

Wot no Gaz? Was looking forward to meeting you after missing you at the JAE.. Thinking we need to organise an Irish event sometime.. Ive never been to Ireland, got a lot of friends over there but never made the trip. Maybe we could organise something to get a bulk of cheap tickets for the ferry over some time.. It'd be great to do a cruise round Ireland, from what I've seen its a lovely place.

What did you do to your zed today?
The smd light strips are very good I have to admit, I used a lot of them when I litup my old nissan xtrail and they done a superb job. I had them as Drl's, indicators, tail lights and underlighting.. They do a good job. The only downside I ever had with them is that sometimes they just wouldn't take the vibration, but i guess it depends where they're being used and also the quality of the smd's aswell. Theres a flood of low quality ones out there as I found when the so called waterproof versions had corroded the terminals to green within a few weeks. I managed to find a supplier based in burton on trent that done excellent quality light strips, both waterproof and standard at a decent price. Searolf LED was the shop name if I remember correctly.. Anyhow, the bulbs I've installed in my own dash do work very well and are simple to fit directly in to the original circuit. Maybe when my hands are capable of more delicate operations, I may attempt the smd strips in the binnacles but for now, I only allow my sausage fingers to touch things I know they won't break! Lol.. I have a feeling the process of pulling the clocks apart to do the strips runs more the risk for me to end up without a dash! For delicate jobs like that, I'd rather pass it on to yourself who knows what they're doing..

Any girl with three legs is probably from Thailand... Although wherever she's from, if there's three legs, probably worth giving a wide berth unless you like that sort of thing! Lol

This is very true groover! But the hazard switch I'm not changing as the standard colour for this is the red that's in it anyway. As for the windscreen wiper one, I'm still working on that. The actual orange switch lights for on and off I've left mine as orange. The kits I'm trying to put together are simply the dials and pod switches backlighting. I'll be testing the blue and purple dial LEDs but the ones I'm getting are super bright SMD chips which have 5 chips per bulb and are very bright.. I'll post the photos of the other colours when I've received them.

bumper / car respray cost advice
Yea I was shocked to be honest, but the job is spot on. All the door shuts, the underside of the bonnet, they took all the glass out including the quarter lites and windscreen. All the doors off and there was some panel damage that needed straightening too. They even sprayed the sills under the skirts before fitting them too which I've experienced the trick before of fitting skirts and leaving the sills... Can't fault the job they done on the car. He said he'd do a good job at a good price and he stuck to his word.. I reckon they got the paint cheaper than I could as they're in the trade and I'm fairly sure that stockists probably don't shift much lambo orange, but regardless, the pearl coat is spot on as is the lacquer. Altogether a faultless job at a price not to be beaten.. Certainly won my business in future if I ever get the Z done! Although they'll probably have retired by that time with the amount of polishing and waxing I do :thumbup1:

My mates celica is done in lamborghini borealis orange pearl and that paint was £275 a litre!? Not bad price for the respray at £1700 was it! That included fitting the bodykit too..

OK, not sure what the forums rules are about this one but I'm sure someone will jump on me quick enough if there's an issue, hope I'm not treading on any toes either, but ive been chatting to the supplier I got the LED bulbs from and asked if he will do a good deal for DIY LED dash kits for the 300zx. He has agreed to do a kit and I am negotiating currently to get a really good price on a kit that put together specifically for our cars. I just wanted to know how much interest there would be for a good quality cheap led upgrade kit for the club members cars. Show of hands please.. Oh and I best add this, I am not making anything from the sales of these kits, the price you would pay is the price I pay for them. If you're interested, pm me and I can give you the price as soon as it is fixed.

I just got round to getting the daytime picture. This is what it looks like in the daytime, I'd originally planned to hide the wire behind the console so it glowed round-the-clock edge but space is very limited there and fitting was going to look a little awkward, however I am planning to order the longer version and extend the wire so there's no gap in the console Base and the wire will also go around the gear stick gaiter too. If I get really bored and adventurous sometime, I may even light the door cards and all the gaps around the dashboard and glovebox.. Future project? Lol

JDM 300zx 1995 LIMP mode problem
Hi dave, I have just done the det sensor mod with the resistor and it works fine. I am planning to replace the sensor but mount it at the rear of the plenum. It isn't as effective there but it's definitely better than having none at all. If you search youtube you will see that the det sensor can be relocated to the rear plenum bolts. Good luck..

I've got loads of spare LEDs if you fancy taking a trip up mate, we can throw a set in on a weekend. Only takes about an hour.
