  1. The package I've been waiting for arrived! Time to dissappear in to the workshop at every given opportunity to continue the work on my doorcards... :w00t: The electrical tools, soldering iron and imagination are about to go wild! Watch this space!!
  2. You have a hairdo like that and you're freaking out about a veilside kit? OMG that's tragic Lmfao!
  3. Oh Si... (sighs) why do you let these things make the veins on your temple pulsate? Lol. I've got a veilside kit so I can change up the look of my car as and when I choose. Once it's all painted I can swap the look from veilside to the abflug whenever the mood takes.. Variety is the spice of life after all.. :euro:
  4. Yes, I have a veilside front end and back end waiting to be painted and fitted. Why you ask?
  5. I've managed to source some lights for my veilside front end today, absolute bargain too! I'll be busy fitting them up when they arrive. Also ordered some new doorcard trim clips from z centre. Just kind of stumbled out of the shed, high as a kite on nitro mors! Stripping the paint from the rocker covers.. Next time I'll leave the door open!
  6. Yup, washing machine.. I stuck mine inside a pillowcase to save the clunking around, but they came out lovely..
  7. Noz, I love your terminology! Lol.. Nearly fell off the chair laughing!! I got to get over to see you sometime soon to get the dogshit cleaned out of my engine bay Lmfao... Just out of interest mate, what are we looking at price wise for a tune up and remap? I'm running stock set up as far as I'm aware..
  8. Yea, it's a pig... Nice looking, just a pig to remove and fit.. I'm going to cut a larger access hole and make a plate to fit over it.
  9. Lol, did you actually read my post to the end Alic? If you have a look at the photo on this post, you'll understand what a type 4 abflug bumper is and why it's such a pain to get on and off.. I'm almost tempted to fit the quick release fittings on the wings, but i hate the way they look.. To explain how difficult it is to access the bolts, the access hole is in the top of the intercooler vents and is about 1 inch in diameter. Theres hardly room for the ratchet to access, but the bolts are at about a 45 degree angle to the access hole. Getting the nuts off is guess work and to get them back on??? Well I can imagine the chance of cross threading etc is about 99% it'll happen! Lol
  10. Got outside today to try and get the bumper off. After inspection of the bumper I've realised that getting the bumper off is going to be a nightmare. More to the point, if I did actually manage it, getting it back on again would be absolutely impossible! The abflug type 4 bumper that's fitted still utilises the same fixing bolts as the original, but unfortunately the access to said bolts is via a 1 inch hole just in front of each intercooler.. Trying to get a ratchet with a 12 inch extension and a universal joint in to the hole and then on to the bolts at a 45 degree angle is nigh on impossible particularly due to the fact that once the ratchet is in place, you can't see anything! I decided to give up for now and will re attempt it when it's warmer and I can get the dremel out to increase the access hole for access. Instead, I decided to get the new alcantara interior fitting started. So out came all the tweed panels from the dash and the tranny tunnel and in went the alcantara.. Just the door cards and rear quarter panels to do over the next few days and then it's ready for the leather seats to be fitted  So been a fairly busy day, but a very satisfying one too.. Got too dark for photos but alcantara and tweed don't make a pretty picture anyway.. Lol
  11. Intended to remove my front bumper today and fit my home made light panels but after braving the rain and wind for about 10 minutes, I decided to pack up and stay healthy! Bloomin freezing! I finally got frustrated enough and want out and stripped the dashboard again to sort a couple of loose bulbs and fit the ones I'd missed before. Got the fuel light sorted out and got the ring around the ignition done in red too.. All lights are red apart from the windscreen wiper switch and hazards.. Fingers crossed for some decent weather Sunday so I can get the bumper off, fit these lights and get a closer look around at the more hidden areas..
  12. Great news Paul, glad you've finally solved the issue.. At least it's put an end to the spend and you can get behind the wheel with confidence again.. Happy zedding mate.
  13. I'd spoken to him that's why you're rate is a lot lower lol.. Glad he's given you a price that you're happy with, I'm positive you'll be just as happy with his work..
  14. Hey noz, all this talk about fuel.. Just wondering, I've got a jap spec tt running a standard set up as far as I am aware. I regularly use shells vpower + nitro fuel and wondered if this is the best fuel I can use? I've done a few tanks of BP ultimate when that's all that's been available but prefer to use shells fuel.. What's the best in your opinion mate?
  15. Well I've got a couple of spaces available if you want to park a zed round here? I won't charge you rent, just borrow a bit every now and again.. Lol
  16. You're an addict dave! There's no saving you now is there! Lol.. I looked at the advert for that too, I've been looking for a donor car to strip. Spent so much recently though that I can't afford it at the mo.
  17. I wouldn't think the bracket would be used for much more than stopping the pipes getting in the way of moving parts etc, the spring is probably to give the pipes some movement without allowing them to go too far.. Not sure but I can't see why it would affect the tranny in that way. I am convinced from what you're saying that it'll turn out to be the ecu. The only other thing I can say it might be is the torque converter as this relies on pressure to work. I'd say check the electrical component first though as this is far more likely to fail than the mechanical side of things. Let me know how you get on with it mate.. If you were closer I'd come and have a look although I'm no expert but ive had a lot of auto tranny cars in my time and a lot of auto trouble!
  18. Personally I'd run the car til the fault occurs again and diagnostics.. If it's been stood a long time, chances are the electronics could be a bit mouldy? I can't see why two trannys would act the same if it were the transmission. I recently saw an auto box ecu on ebay for £20 so if I were in your position I'd swap the ecu and see if your problem goes away.. Cheap option and a lot less involved. If the problems still there then you've only lost £20.. Just a thought.. Good luck with it though..
  19. Hey, if anyones got an old gear nob laying around from a manual, any chance I can have it or buy it? Looking for an original threaded shaft to mount a home made nob on.. Cheers
  20. Have you ever thought it may be a fault within the gearbox ecu? It seems a little odd that two boxes have the same fault. Also a little odd that the problem resets when the ignition is switched off and on? I'd hook it up to a consult and monitor the gearbox to see if the ecu is having issues.
  21. I'll assume that the offer to sort your pods out for you isn't needed now then Chris? Not to worry, I'm sure someone else will appreciate the bulbs mate, or it'll just be some spares for mine.
  22. Well, you're a lucky guy jaikai.. I can still feel the swelling from the last purchase.. When I told her I was going to fleet to pick up a laptop for the car, fortunately I was already on route in the car. Unfortunately I had to go home afterwards.. Hence the left one still throbbing.. I dare not reveal the contents of my workshop that are out growing the space, at least I know it's safe for now as it's bloody freezing outside.. I think I've spent about £600 this month before remembering that it's valentines day on the 14th and my daughters 12th birthday on the 16th... It was at that point that I realised I was doomed... Lol
  23. Those ain't my ones bedzee, but that's what they'll look like when I'm done with them and then they'll be off to phutumsch for the halo treatment.. It's all in the pipeline, but I'm still walking round cupping me nada incase the wife sees my bank balance! I'm praying she dint go in the shed for a while cos all the evidence is laid out in the form of many Z parts.. Lol.. If I don't make it on the 20th, you'll know what to tell the police... It was the wife!
  24. Look at the golden headlights... They should look great with the phutumsch halo treatment! So looking around for some stuff to sell to inject a few quid in to the project!
  25. Lol I thought you were going to say George was the cleaner! I was chatting to my neighbour last night and he told me he'd bought a karcher steamer ages ago but never used it as he wasn't sure how to. It's a bit like one of those xmop things with a carpet attachment and the different nozzles for a range of things.. As all the parts are off the car I think I'll give that a go first and if all else fails I'll go the autoglym route. Have to be careful with cash as the wife still doesn't realise I've bought a shed load of stuff for the Z this month and when she finds out I think I may lose a gonad! Cheapest solution is the best for now! :scared: So far I've bought a consult with laptop, veilside front and rear bumpers, carbon vinyl wrap, a load of led's, a dress up kit for the engine bay, an alcantara interior and put a little by for the seats! I'm sure there's more but can't remember! Gonna get :hang: I'm gonna be going through my shed this weekend to thin out the bits I'm not going to be using so I'll post the bits up here. I know I've got a plenum complete with throttle bodies, there's a few little bits laying around in boxes and also a full set of wheels with good tyres.. That's just a start. Maybe I can help someone out with something they need and get the wife of my back in to the bargain! But I'm still fairly convinced I'm gonna get :hang:
