  1. That's quite interesting because there are regulations on the colour of side marker lights in the UK. I'm assuming the regs are only covering trailers and long vehicles. Good news anyway, but it's always good to make sure..
  2. I think amber is the legal colour as they are side markers. Not sure if red is legal in England as red should only be visible from the rear of the vehicle and all side marker lamps should be amber. Might be worth a check on the legal side of those Dutch, just in case! It might be ok cos it's so close to the rear end but i know that truck trailers and car trailers must only show amber side markers
  3. I've run a set of wires from the number plate to either side as I had planned on lighting the reflectors a while back, just haven't got round to it as I have so many projects waiting to be started/finished lol. They do look good, I'll have to see how difficult it will be to light mine as I have the bulbs here, just got to find a way to fit them in to the reflectors.
  4. Hi Dutch.. Looking wonderful as ever! How did you go about lighting those reflectors? Did you buy them ready to fit or did you fit your own leds?
  5. All done! Lights are wired and ready to be fitted. Now just got to wait for the good old British weather to bugger off so I can get the tiger seal out and fit them... Looking out the window on this glorious bank holiday weekend, it could be a while!! :cursing: Might have to make a start on the gold headlight inserts with halos... Hold on to your hat Funkysi, it's about to get bumpy mate lol.. Still trying to figure out your WTF on my previous post?? Are you feeling a disturbance in the force my friend??
  6. Just finished the rewire of the light harness loom. I couldn't allow the half ass job that had been done previously to connect to my cars wiring.. This is the old harness.. After buying all the correct nissan colour coded wire, I set about making the new harness and now it looks like this.. Now on to the passenger side! Got to say, I've seen some interesting attempts at wiring in my time, but this job looked like a monkey with a screwdriver and spanner could've done better!!
  7. Lights fittings in.. New led rings and centre pods, new fixing studs etc.. Now to get the wiring harness sorted and then wait for a dry slot for fitting
  8. Oil and filter change done yesterday so now as it's grim outside, it's time to do something in the dry.. Just picked up my freshly painted light fittings from Sam at passfield panel and paint this morning who done a fantastic job! Decided to stay gloss black in the end. So now, the rebuild begins. New light fittings to fit then it's rewiring and maybe if the sun breaks out tomorrow, it'll be time to fit them..
  9. Forgot to say, Scotland.... Amazing! Breathtakingly stunning scenery and the roads.... Omg the roads were amazing! I wish I'd taken the Z! After seeing things like this And this... A trip to the Highlands with my fairlady is already being planned.. If anyone's interested in a trip up there, maybe we could organise a club event/break?? I'm sure we could get a great rate for a group booking at the Inverness premiere Inn or similar.. Then the Highland roads and Ben nevis are at your feet..
  10. Well, last night at work tonight and the weekend is looking like it's gonna be a busy one. The wife and kid are off on holiday for a fortnight, so plenty of time for giving love to my other lady  Starting with an oil and filter change tomorrow. My local motor factors just happened to have 2 oil filters on the shelf. Blueprint ones but just as good as oem in my experience. Also got a great deal on some semi synthetic 10W/40 oil. 20 litres! Bulk oil and filters less than £30! After the oil change I'm planning on getting the steamer out and attacking my engine bay to try and clean some of the grime away. Then fit a new led sidelight as one of the ichiminge ones failed. From there, who knows? Maybe fit the silicone vac hoses? Picking up the venom light panels from the spray shop on Saturday morning, so I'll probably rebuild those with the new light units and maybe get them fitted on Sunday.. The weekends going to be busy but enjoyable!
  11. Have you not tested the hobrite yet Andy? I used it today to get shot of the scratches from my patio door. The dog scratches at it when he wants to come in with his muddy gritty paws and he'd made a right mess of it. Half hour with a cloth and hobrite and it's like new again.. Give it a try Andy, I'm sure it'll do the job for you.
  12. Coopd I wasn't sure at first but noel also gave me all the technical information provided by an independent tester. The data clearly shows that the momentum fuel is a better fuel and noel would know through dyno results and performance results from his own experiences.. Noel uses momentum fuel in his own car so that's good enough for an endorsement for me. Not to mention the fact that shell premium fuel is what I'd always used in the past in my Z and I noticed a distinct improvement in the way my car runs after switching to tesco momentum.. Why not give it a try and see if you notice the difference? Don't knock it til you've tried it coopd..
  13. I took noel from turbonoz advice and started using tesco momentum 99 mate, he said it was the best fuel for the Z and boy was he right. I'd been using she'll V+ nitro until the change and the difference is more than noticeable.. Aswell as the price being nearly 10p a litre cheaper! Give it a go Stephen..
  14. No the heat won't damage it.. It's actually cooling as it comes out the nozzle so although it's hot, it's not hot enough to melt anything
  15. Thanks for all your input, I decided a while ago that if I couldn't get the bulb holders that id attempt to file the light fitting to fit the holders I have, So I'll give that a go. Coopd has kindly offered me his old set when he replaces his in a couple of weeks, so if I manage to damage the ones I've got now, it's no big catastrophe.. Hopefully all will go well, but ya never know! I'll attempt it when I get back from my break as if I try it now and it goes pear shaped I'm likely to chuck a spanner through the windscreen! just not in the right frame of mind now so best to come at it when I'm more chilled lol
  16. If you're careful Dutch, you can peel the old seals off the standard ones and use tiger seal with a small brush to reseal them to your new ones.. As for the Moss, I've used an x5 steam mop to clean mine and as it boils the Moss it should kill the stuff that makes it grow in the first place.. It's worked for me so worth a try if you have a steamer.. Coopd, thanks mate..
  17. I really appreciate your kindness coopd but honestly I don't want you to send me yours.. If you go back to the start of all this, you'll see that I just asked anyone knew where I could get the bulb holders, that's all... It annoyed me when I got the response of "just buy a new set for £20 and throw the ones I've got as I'd only be losing £12" £12 is £12.. I don't throw money away as I don't have the luxury of being able to! What with all that's going on around me at present, I lost it a little! Look, you're a great bunch of guys here, I am grateful for the kind offers sent. I'll adapt what I have and wait until I have the money to replace them if needs must. I've had orange indicators for the last 8 months and it's not gonna hurt for another couple. I'm just frustrated because I spend my spare cash on trying to get my car how Id like it as it's the only hobby I really have anymore. It seems that because I can't afford to but new stuff most of the time, everything I try and do ends up costing more and the jobs are twice as annoying as they never seem to go right and end up needing doing again.. Even the leds I bought new for the dash have had faulty ones that have meant continuously pulling the dash out to change out the dodgy ones! Working 60+ hours a week on nights doesn't give me a lot of spare time and I'm sure everyone appreciates the fact that the Z projects are never straight forward. Limited time, money and decent weather, coupled with the recent stress has kind of put me in to meltdown and I over reacted.. Like I said previously, I apologise for filling the thread with my angst. I'll try to adapt the ones I've got for now and if they disintegrate whilst trying, I'll buy some new ones in a couple of months... God only knows I've got enough projects on the go to keep me busy! It'd just be nice to finish one for once...
  18. Thanks Richie, I'd like to say it was the car, but it isn't.. Unfortunately sometimes people innocently post replies to threads amd don't think about it from the other side of the coin.. Not at all their fault as they aren't to know someone else's circumstances. Apologies if I've exploded on the forum a little, as I said to mondo, life's a little on top at the moment. Money is tighter than usual right now, jobs on the car are building up also jobs on the house and garden, I'm not in great health and am looking at a big change of circumstances in the not too distant future and to top it all, the wife is facing a cancer scare at the moment.. I'm gonna take some time out from here for a bit cos I can't seem to avoid the urge to bite people, so I'll bid y'all farewell for a while. I'm going to Scotland on Saturday for four days to do some fishing and clear my head a little. Time to think and all that.. Hopefully I'll come back a little more relaxed as I'm used to being.. Apologies again everyone. - - - Updated - - - Thanks Richie, I'd like to say it was the car, but it isn't.. 19. To be honest mondo, the way my lucks been the last couple of years, I wasn't suprised at all! Lol.. Everything's a bit on top at the moment and my stress levels are going slightly higher than is safe for human health, so I'm a tad temperamental and touchy at present.. I know I shouldn't allow that to filter in to here, but sometimes it can't be helped..
  20. Yes mondo.. Clear side repeaters.. I simply asked if anyone knew where I could get the bulb holders for them as they have a two lug bulb holder fitting instead of the three lug ones that are standard fitting in the car.. I'm having trouble finding them is the only trouble and I could do without having to risk dremeling them to fit as they're very easy to break.. The venting session just happened due to some flippant comments that just touched a nerve.. I'm starting to think that forum chats arent for me right now as my patience level is wearing a little thin recently.. Got a lot on my mind so hoping the trip to Scotland for a few days is gonna help before I implode.. :nuke::headvswal
  21. Alic, I'm not saying that the indicators were not as described, I said they didn't have the bulb holders. As you would expect when you buy an indicator, the bulb holder should normally be present as they are when you buy a set for £20 new.. When I refer to items not as described, you'll note if you read my previous post more closely, I was referring to the venom lights I bought on here and various other parts I've bought from many different places.. I bought the venom lights on here and when I received them, 2 of the outer Led rings were cracked on the lenses costing me £80 to replace, also every one of the six centre pot lights which have three tabs on to hold them in place were broken off. These cost me £80 to replace also. All the bolts were seized and rusty which cost me a further £18 to replace. The coating had bubbles all over them and are about to cost me another £40 to have sorted out. Add this to the cost of originally buying them at £240 worth of spares that were taken in exchange then you'll realise that this worked out much more than the £360 to buy a new set from the Z centre... Forgive me if I come across a little hot headed about it, but when these things happen regularly when you're trying to build a car and run a home, pay a mortgage and feed a family by working 60 hours on nights a week and struggle to get the spare cash to buy the things you want, then you might understand why I feel mad sometimes... Ive not vented my frustration upon those who I've bought things from, I've just bit my tongue and just taken it on the chin as always, that's just the way I am. However, do forgive me if every now and then I vent a little.. As without it, I'd go off like a nuke mate.. And no one wants that, including me...
  22. What I'm doing with a highly complex japanese sports car is trying to fulfil a dream Si.. Owning something that I've worked hard for 25 years to finally own. I do understand that due to having next to zero spare cash 3 days after payday is going to mean that I'll watch my beloved car go slowly downhill until the day comes that I'll have to let it go to a breakers yard or allow the parts to be taken to keep other cars alive. It's a very sad truth, but it's the truth. I bought the best I could in the hope that I'll get as long as possible before inevitably having to let the dream car go, so fingers crossed I'll get a while yet. There's also the prospect that my driving days may not last long either due to health conditions, so whilst I'm able to do it, I'm owning a dream car from my youth. Thanks for your offer of the PayPal transfer, I appreciate your offer of help, but I'll have to decline. I'm a proud person and if I can afford it, I'll buy it by working for it as I've done all my life.. Never a lender nor borrower be.. Although I'm still paying the loan for the car! Lol.. I know what you're saying about the £12 but when you've bought something to save money and find it costs you more it's just frustrating... I've never sold anything to anyone that I've known is incomplete or broken, yet lately I've bought a string of parts that are far from the description of the sellers.. I guess by now I should understand that the world is full of people who take advantage of others. Thankfully I'm not like that but sometimes I wonder how much better off I'd be if I treated people the same?? Anyway hey ho... Another night shift starts... If I do 2 hours overtime I can buy some new lights hey... Lol
  23. £12 is a lot of money when you ain't got bugger all Si.. Although when you're pockets are stuffed you forget about those not quite as well off don't you... - - - Updated - - - £12 is a lot of money when you ain't got bugger all Si.. 24. To be honest, I bought them from someone on here and didn't expect the trouble. Paid £12 for them and I wouldn't get that for a second hand set without the holders so I wouldn't expect someone else to buy them and end up with the same problem. Don't feel like shelling out £20 on top for another set so i guess the dremel will have to come out on them authentic weekend. After all the bloody trouble I wish I'd never bought them! If I'd known they came without the bulb holders I probably wouldn't have anyway! But we live and learn huh? Have to be cautious about who I buy from in future as even the venom lights I bought from a member here have now cost me £80 more than a brand new set from the Z centre.. Getting a little frustrated at being mugged off.. :cursing::cursing::cursing:
  25. If you've got any idea where I can get the bulb holders with the two lugs instead of three I'd appreciate a heads up mate. I bought a set of used ones and can't find the correct fit bulb holders anywhere. I hoped they'd cone with them but unfortunately not..
