A Bitter Taste.
Could be clutch fluid or oil from the crankshaft rear oil seal (hopefully not).

Ordering from Z1 motorsports
Its all great until something goes wrong................................and it does happen, then their response is absolutely dismal, that is if you can get a response. Buy local, MFP etc.,no import duty, no quibble British Warranty in Genuine Nissan parts. I have only shopped with them on a couple of occasions and had problems, latterly with a big brake update kit. The disks cracked after a couple of months......it took 6 months to get replacements, yes 6 months and they never call you back. NEVER !!!. so you have to keep chasing them on transatlantic phone calls. ££££££

ok it's official
Thats about the right price for normal turbos Kev, you have been away too long mate and forgotten that these cars are money pits. Welcome back tho' and say hello to an overdraft although the car you have aquired seems to be a good 'un, a shame that some pr1ck decided to ventilate it.

Engine wont start
I would say your problem is between the PTU and the CAS especially if you are getting fuel through. Make sure the connections are 'clean' on both the above, its usually the CAS connector that gets sh1tty through condensation. When you say you have fuel coming out of the filter, is it continuous ? as the pump will cut out again if the ignition system has a fault. To test, put the pipe from the fuel filter in a bottle and crank the engine over. It should keep pumping to fill the bottle.

Whats the limit for engine temp ?
What do you guys and gals class as 'overheating'. my Zed under normal road conditions stays below 90 deg C but on the track it does rise to 95 ish, which scares the life out of me especially having a cast iron block and alloy heads which by nature expand at different rates. What does your car run at under 'stress' conditions (giving it welly) and is it modified.

Further running problems
If it only stalls on number 2, then the other five are not working properly. Not being condescending but are the plug and injector leads on correctly. These engines do not sound much different with a misfire when the car is stationary and infact when being driven the effect will not necessarilly be felt dramatically. I also think you may have a vacuum pipe off somewhere which is why it is hunting.Another check you should make is with the two connectors at the right hand side at the rear of the engine. One I think is for the IAV valve and the other is for the........cant remember, but the plugs are the same and can be inadvertantly put back on wrongly. What a minefield these engines are.

Surrey rolling road / Virginia Water meet
Mine is also. I have fluid pi55ing out from my air con pump and I think its the oil in the compressor not the gas. I will have to pull out as I do not think I can change it in time. Its 'drop the crossmember time' unfortunately to change it. Not a nice job.:mad2:

turbo removal
I think the response to what you have stated is 'great' and as long as it works OK and the end result means you can achieve a turbo change without taking the engine out then thats a bonus, but how long did it take you to change them. the engine can be taken out in about 1.5 hours and of course when its out you can see the backend of the engine to see what else might require attention, and then sort it. By doing the turbos in situ, that is not an option. if all else is top notch then great but from eperience that is not always the case.
