  1. It's not an engagement lash is it Si.
  2. The guy driving this one was I say late 30's. What a motor. 2 minutes later I saw a ferrari 430 spider in yellow with an old boy driving it, hood down, coat, scarf and cap, the weather was stunning. Perhaps he did not want to get a chill.
  3. These are funny times at the mo' with the markets and currencies fluctuating but I would still think that the States will be cheaper even after import duty. Try ConceptZed who may be cheaper on the postage but still give great service.
  4. Heat ? from where, they are under the car at the front.
  5. If you are just taking the engine out, then the prop and gearbox does not really need touching apart from unbolting from the engine. Also, if its an auto, make sure you unbolt the torque converter from the plate with the starter ring on, and when you remove the engine, it should stay still mounted on the gearbox shaft, and thus no fluid loss. To get the engine off the gearbox you will need to drop the front crossmember. First mark the steering splined joint to ensure it goes back in the same position as the rack which is attached to the crossmember will drop down also. Make sure your engine crane is up to the weight, it is a big unit and cheap / lightweight engine hoists can be tipped over with the weight of a Zed engine.
  6. I would sort it out now. When you get a puncture you would normally be away from home and the opportunity to improvise will be less. One of those strap type oil filter removers would do the trick I would think. Buy one and keep it in the car.
  7. I was apprehensive about buying unnamed components and had spent time shopping about, but postage from the US appears to have gone through the roof. I found some tension rods under the 'Wicked' brand for $99 but the seller wanted $143 for postage. I was about to buy some normal rod bushes and get Jimmer to change them, when I spotted these. It will be interesting to see how they fair, especially being open to the elements. On initial driving I can certainly feel the positivity when braking.
  8. I knew what you meant Murt. Are you coming next weekend to the RR.?
  9. I will bring it with me next wekend end, as long as I can practise on you.;)
  10. My tension rod bushes were absolutely mullered and the price of new bushes seem to have rocketed, so I searched US Ebay and came up with some rose bearing typr arms, just $49 plus $46 postage to UK, and no import duty ?? Well today the sun was shining and I fitted them. Not as straight forward as I thought they would be due to the FMIC pipework, but still only took a couple of hours. Hopefully they will never need changing again, they also look quite funky as well.
  11. Was it anyone on here, a stunning LP640 in a sort of ivory colour at Exmouth seafront today, the reg was great too. 1 GAT.
  12. When my marriage broke up after 30 odd years I was totally f@cked up, couldnt sleep even after drinking for an Olympic gold medal every night. I then met this woman (professionally) who calmed me right down and she recommended a book 'self hypnosis' by Valerie Austin. Never looked back. I even now have all my treatment at the dentist without any injections, fillings, crowns, root canal treatment. I had 27 stitches recently without any anaesthetic. Cracking book for sleeping problems too. Get one Si.
  13. If he has fibbed about the brakes, and the 400bhp sounds a bit iffy, then what else might not be quite up to scratch. Great advert but is it just to suck someone in. Why aint he on here then ??
  14. Why have both ??? as long as you inform them you are covered unless of course they say NO.
  15. How long have they had it for goodness sake ??? Why do people end up posting messages like this. This is not the first time and yet people still use them. They were sh#t when Ryan ran it and it sounds as though nothing has changed. DOH !!
  16. You need to bear in mind that when you do a brake upgrade, that beautiful space saver you normally have in the back will not fit on the front anymore, so budget for another wheel and tyre, or join a good recovery company and get a Soduko book to fill out whilst your waiting for them to turn up.
  17. There are a couple of jobs you should consider while its out. One is a top end bypass which does away with all the pipework undr the plenum, 2nd is to replae all rubber pipes at the back of the engine, i.e., heater hoese etc., and 3rd, change the rack bushes, these cost a couple of quid but are b@stards to change when the engind is in. In fact you have to drop the cross member to do it. They stop your steering rack flexing when on the move.
  18. PCD means 'pitch circle diameter' which refers to the bolt / stud fixings of the wheel and have no relation to the offset. Obviously when buying wheels you need to ensure that they will fit a Zed relative to the wheel fixings. The offsets only come into play when considering calipers / disks and appearances.
  19. No chance. Any company would want to protect IPR.
  20. Come on peeps, no squabblng. Looking forward to seeing you all. P.S. have you voted for me yet in car of the month.:)
  21. Yes, yes, yes, you can say 11.30 Lisa but history tells another story.
  22. What we haven't missed is the time and exact place, but you seem to have. Cheddar is quite a large village including about 15 pubs and not just the Gorge. You have not organised anything just stuck up a place and an initial dodgy date. More like a hasty response to the other thread about you not being about.
