  1. By how much were the cam lobes reduced John, I would have thought that the rockers would take up a couple of mm ? the rockers must be a snug fit inside the cam covers to beat its way through them due to the extra travel.
  2. Well, an old saying comes to mind here, re-arrange the words to suit...brewery, couldn't, p1ssup,organise, in a. what a waste of 9 pages of forum script. This was always looking shakey from the start when the dates kept changing. Well peeps, I geuss a meet might be on the cards for some of you, probably at a pub to drown your sorrows, Jimmer knows a nice one overlooking a cricket pitch, very calmimg that plus a pint of Thatchers Gold. I can feel the knots undoing altready...................whoooops, I won't be there, I be off to the coast for a couple of days to enjoy a bit of sun, sand and sea.......and perhaps a pint or two.:)
  3. In all seriousness, I am making other plans anyway so RR may be out of the question.
  4. Try and let us know before midnight Murt.
  5. :headvswal ..............I won my bet though.
  6. Is that because Murty does not know the way ?
  7. Because they still have his car and all the bits, and he is hoping to get some compensation from them.
  8. I know he is my son and obviously I think he is great, and yes my engine has been rebuilt by him plus loads of other work being done as and when needed, but what impresses me is his unfaltering enthusiasm and his attention to detail. Every part that is used in an engine rebuild is examined, measured, pressure tested and meticulously cleaned. That routine never changes and is backed up by his collection of 'suspect' parts. These are parts which look OK but on examination and bearing in mind its history, i.e from an engine that has overheated, knocked a bearing out or damaged a piston, he will judge certain componets not suitable for re-use and will find replacements. This does slow up a rebuild process, but it does mean the end product is a great one, which in a performance car like the 300zx, is very neccessary. Keep up the good work James, Saville Row beckons.
  9. We might come your way Murty, but we shall see what transpires with the others.......................:)
  10. Typical Zed mechanic tho', his car is off the road, nothing serious but he has been too busy to sort it out.
  11. Don't forget to put the £20 note in the ashtray, it always makes the testers sight go cloudy.:)
  12. Are we meeting to convoy up somewhere locally.
  13. Blimey Daz, your still about. I heard you had a bad back mate, or was that just your money belt getting tight.:)
  14. Its a day out in the Zed on my own then. Sadly I have to drop the caravan off at the repairers (WSM) on saturday between 10 and 12, so have to be around until after then. Whers Zedfest being held this year ?
  15. Get in touch with Lisa, I am sure she will show you the sights.;)
  16. From what I can remember when I changed mine the split goes to the rear of the car otherwise you wuold not really know when its positioned right, i.e. the two ends being adjacent ready for the clamp to be refitted.
  17. I think you would need to put down some idea of the costs involved here before someone could come up with some sort of geustimate, and it would be a finger in the air job. Personally I would press on and get it put together and perhaps approach someone like John Dixon regarding getting it mapped.
  18. That does sound suspiciously like the turbo seals gone. What colour is the smoke ?
  19. Well done, that looks OK, nice plate too. The resistor det sensor mod tends to be permanent as a replacemnt det sensor is quite an involved job, i.e. plenum off, unless you reposition it. It is usually the harness that fails and not the sensor which is a bit more easier to replace. Loads of help on here, keep plugging.
  20. The weather is looking good for this weekend, anyone fancey a get together somewhere locally, preferably out of Bristol. saturday afternoon.....sunday morning / afternoon ?? a spot of lunch or pint and bagette. Wots reeckon then ?
  21. I hope not Mike, fingers crossed. This event needs all the support it can get.:)
  22. Has Mike (Funkyboxxxxxx) had his clutch done as well.?
  23. What a gullible lot you people are. Magic ?? its on the TV for feck sake. Its a bit like digital photos, you can change them to show whatever you want. The proper word is 'illusionist'. It all an illusion, a fake, a slight of mind. Total crap loL.
  24. I got to say Pete I popped down to see Jimmer last night and your car was sat there, obviously waiting for you to collect. She is looking awesome mate and your wheels......superb. I know their refurb was not cheap but they made a great job. See you at the RR meet.
