  1. Pretty sure its about 200C for powder coating, I used to do it for a small company in dorset
  2. Ive never had a problem with myhermes. I always insure it to full amount or slightly over, but never had a problem. Ive had more problems with TNT and Parcel Force.
  3. Does anyone has the N/S A pillar trim that goes down the side of the windscreen? I ordered one, it turned up and it had been spanned in half by the courier. I got my money back, but the seller doesn't have another!
  4. If you are the same as me (young-ish, no grandfather rights and no trailer rights) you can drive a total amount up to 3.5T with a trailer no more than 750KG. I would hazard a guess that towing another car (not for the sake of a break down and getting it to a garage) would be treated as towing a trailer? there for must be under 750KG? I dont understand the DVLA sometimes. I can drive 18T buses with 101 people on board, yet I cant drive anything over 3.5T if its a car, van or lorry. I also have manual right on the PSV license?! explain that one?! I do know that if you break the weight ruling for your license, its proper serious. They treat it like driving around without a license at all, so make sure you look into it properly because if you get caught, you can loose your license and/or jail time.

  6. Eastbourne to somewhere in Essex for a light bar, Eastbourne to Wigan for some decats (ebay winner at £1.68, yes you read that right!) Eastbourne to Keighley for a car and again for some bits. But the winner was actually my friend. A few years ago he won a 406 coupe on ebay from belfast. We got up at 4am, got a lift to gatwick, flew to belfast, collected the car, took a ferry from belfast to stranragh and then drove home. we got back just after midnight. I know a car isnt techincally a part, but he won the car for £100 and it ended up becoming parts!
  7. I had notice that every page I opened in chrome, the tab name was "the red z thread". Now its working fine, if that helps?
  8. BBC Radio 2 gets listened to the most in my cars, however I mostly listen to my own music (large collection of many genres, but 70's rock being the most common). Classic FM is put on in the control room as after a 10 hour shift, you hear the same 18 "new" pop songs so many times you are ready to slit some wrists. Classic FM is actually quite relaxing and some of it (once shazam'd) has leaked into my music collection too!
  9. ok, ill get a 2nd opinion from somewhere and see if they will still fit. tHanks to all!
  10. Ages ago I bought some japspeed decat pipes, Ive only just tried to fit them and found a problem (well I havent, my mechanic has) first of all the pipes look like this: https://www.japspeed.co.uk/nissan-300zx-non-turbo-decat-downpipes.html He says that the section that bends upwards to connect to the engine is all wrong and doesnt fit. Is there a short section of pipe that they connect to before conecting to the manifold? I found this: https://mileoneparts.com/media/images/oe/collision/3/3712805.gif but that doesnt show the manifold bits I found this: http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTIwMFgxNjAw/z/VSYAAOxydlFSx2iA/$_1.JPG?set_id=880000500F I just looks like the decats bolt on to the manifolds. Have I bought TT pipes advertised as NA, are they different? or is my mechanic being a pain? Thanks!
  11. Make the outside lane 90mph. If your in that lane, you have to be over taking, if not, tuck back in. Driving in Germany is a joy, we need to be like them. We need a complete re-structure of our driving lessons and tests. In Finland for example it takes 4 years to get a full license. You have to drive and gain experience in all kinds of situations and weather before be allowed on the road. My wife passed her test last July and she asked why I indicate right when im approaching a line of parked cars. I explained to warn people im crossing the white line and warning any motorbikes behind me that I'm shifting position. She said she was told that she didnt have to do that. I talked to her instructor and the outcome was that the examiners concentrate more on road position than indication, so for example, if you are in the right hand lane, then inside of a roundabout and you are turning right, you can forget your indicator because you are in the correct lane and other traffic know where you are going. My argument was, what if its a dual carriage roundabout, are they going straight or turning right? What if the car is cutting the roundabout as many people do these days? What if hes over taking on the roundabout? Yes there are many idiots on the road (especially in Eastbourne), but they seem to be taught to be idiots before they even get their license. I was always taught Mirror, Signal, Maneuver, even when I did my bus test in 2015 and thats way Ill drive because if I signalling right and someone crashes into to me, they cant argue that I wasnt advertising my intentions!
  12. How high is the pull on his handbrake at the end of this video?! or is that a US version style?!
  13. Im in, as long you dont need payment within the next 13 days!
  14. Does anyone has a lower front arm. mine needs replacing. it looks like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/90-96-Nissan-300zx-Front-Driver-Left-Lower-Control-Arm-FLCA-Stock-OEM-/162370764487?hash=item25ce0d3ec7:g:3osAAOSwo4pYijQY
  15. Ill be coming and representing "the missing paint" crew as usual!
  16. People are too thin skinned these days. We have lost the ability to take constructive criticism and in some cases know the difference between trolling and genuine questions and criticism. Yesterday, Myself and 8 other drivers were standing in the bus terminus in Eastbourne laughing and joking. A lorry driver, who had pulled up in the bus-only road at a bus stop on the other side of the road, leaned out of his cab and started telling us to f**k off, that we were all dicks and c**ts. We hadn't listened to him at this point as we were still laughing and joking and hadn't realised the abuse was aimed at us. It wasn't until he marched across the road, kicked one of the drivers in the back of the knee, then shoved him into the wall that we realised he was angry with us! We found out later, that he had thought we were taking the piss out of him....guilty conscience maybe?! Another example is that road rage incident on the M62 with the lorry driver reversing his pickup into a COOP lorry, smashing the window with a spade and driving off. I get road rage daily while working. People are just getting angrier and I don't know why. Same on forums, Text is never the best medium for sharing ideas as the context is lost so easily. Especially in this day and age of txt-language and abbreviations. In your problem Mondo, I haven't read the two threads you are talking about (i have taken a step back from this forum for a while), but I've seen other threads where someone criticises something small, the other party takes huge offense, lays into the first and before you know it you have a flame war. I cant be bothered with people like that anymore. For example when someone blocks me on the road (happens daily as everyone trys to beat the bus, regardless of priority and right-of-way), I put the handbrake on, turn off the bus and read my book. The CCTV and passengers will record events for you, so just sit and don't fret about things you have no control over. If you feel you really have to say your opinion (everyone does, its a free country) then just be aware it could be more hassle than its worth... I happen to agree with you, If I'm paying big money for a Z, I want it to be spotless. I wouldnt pay £2000 for an 80" tv that didnt have smart and wifi connectivity. Mind you I wouldn't spend £2000 on a tv.... Ive attached a picture of happy pigs to cheer you up!
  17. Am I correct in saying that, that is the car driven by the japanese secret agent who saves james bond in "you only live twice". They pick the bad guys up with a helicopter and magnet and drop them in the sea?
  18. I blame the scrappage scheme. Its made lots of old cars disappear over night and therefore become rare. On top of that right now what can you invest your money in? Banks are offering 1% if you are lucky.... Property is through the roof and becoming a landlord is a lot of hassle AND there are more fees for the landlord now. so whats left? Invest in an old classic car that you know wont loose money...
  19. My stepmother is american, but shes lived over here for 28 years and has british citizenship (Still cant make a decent cup of tea and doesnt understand fawtly towers...) and she says its a "Gear lever" and "drive stickshift". She grew up and lived first 30-odd years in Seattle, so could be a regional thing?
  20. You mean put a bullet in him right? There is a lovely spot in Texas ive heard...
  21. I would more than happily lend you my Zed, but I fear it would put people off buying one. Maybe if you had a "this is what a poor zed looks like " section, mine would be perfect! I would help out (driving something up there, helping out at the stand, etc) but I have to work that weekend
  22. Guess what! She's back! A 3" pipe at the very back of the engine split and dumped coolant onto the manifold, hence the thick steam. Compression test, oil test, water test, rad check, coolant check all came up clear. I'm going to run her for about 400miles on 99petrol and then get the timing belt and thermostat done. Seems like I've dodged a bullet. Grand total to fix.... £80! Car needs welding and a good clean, but happy she's back!
