  1. Lets hope the leak isnt too bad to get me home then!
  2. So went for an ATC assessment today, took the red car to Southampton with no problems. Finished the day, walked to the car, started it, foot on clutch, won't go into gear! Tried and swore for 15 mins, then checked clutch fluid and it's on minimum so I'm guessing it's got a leak. Nearest halfords is 7.8 miles away and it's raining badly. Do I walk 14 miles to take a chance more fluid will get it home or wait for the AA who will tell me the clutch has gone, then wait for a flatbed who will tell me they can't put the car on because the front bumper is too low? No how I planned my Friday afternoon/evening/night
  3. ok, no problem, thank you for taking the time to look though
  4. Most people these days have paypal and its linked into thier browser. When people buy things for ebay or other websites such as justeat or rail tickets, they click the paypal button, it does its spinny thing and then its back with the payment done. Its quick and easy and I wouldnt see a problem with it. If it stops spammer then its all god
  5. The red/black car was from Wigan and the red one was Dorset, but was up north somewhere before that
  6. My black car was red, but I dont know when it was resprayed (badly), the reg is H283JBJ My red twin turbo apparently was quite well know as it was a show car, it was a NA and had a custom red interior, when the show guy sold it, the next owner blew the engine so it was replaced with a TT lump, the next owner blew the turbos, then I bought it and fixed it, replaced the interior and have been slaving away on it since. That reg is H484FRV would be cool to see if there are any pictures of them Thanks!
  7. Maybe main links across the top for home, calendar, classified, tech centre, forums? Down the right side have links to featured build, featured gallery, featured classified etc? Bottom could be news stories, blogs, writeups??
  8. Although im not great at making things look pretty, I can do certain things with computers. VBA, C++, HTML/HTML5, a little JAVA, learning to code in android etc. I am happy to help out as a "designer" or "coder" or "calendar maker"or "general IT dogsbody".
  9. There are a few there that could by mine, but I cant see the number plates to confirm. Was hoping to see my cars and their previous owners!
  10. This. I have been to a few shows where I am the only Zed and having a club banner would be good.
  11. Here is something I quickly cooked up, not professional by any means.
  12. Calendar: why not have the 12 car of the month winners meet up for a photo shoot with a professional photographer at an epic location. 1) to make a calendar for the next year 2) so the winner get a prize of having their cars professionally photographed and has nice pictures of their cars. Any member can vote, but you have to be premium to enter your car. The club pays for the photographer as the prize. Location changes each time. Calendar: Online google/apple/outlook calendar of all car events around the country that gets shared on the forum. Each event has date, time, location, meeting place stored in it and people can download onto their phones/ipad and RSVP to the ones they can make. I could whip one up if some people could collate all the shows around the country. open to all members App: why not have a club app? Im learning how to code in android, but I am FAR from experienced, but would be willing to join a team to develop it. Why not have links on there, polls, galleries, news thread and show calendar. open to all members Shows: Certain upmarket shows (simply jap, JAE, goodwood, etc) we have a full on stand. Tents, banners, flags, jumble sale tables, tvs showing cars, laps, roadtrip footage. Make it more commercial, grab people by the eyes and make them want a 300zx. open to all members Video podcast: With phone cameras getting so good, why not film our own 300zx top gear challenges. Three cars go off for a road trip, or small challenges using our cars. have a laugh, drive some awesome roads, no crashing into each other however! We dont need to film a full hour episode, but maybe just 20 mins or something. These videos can be accessible on the app. Foreign trips: why not meet up with our EU brethren? I tried to start a monte carlo rally a few years ago, money is the main issue, but I know there have been other trips around France etc. Track days/racing: I would love to take my car on a track, but having never done it I don't know what to expect and am a little apprehensive of doing so. Why not have a small group of track day experienced guys to "teach" people to drive fast and go on track days. Why not put some of the money into a Z that could be shared by all of us to be raced in a proper series? Advertise the club all over the side too. Premium members get to drive it? We all chip in with time/money and get it race compliant and all share it. prize money goes back to the car or club. Tech centre: Rework the tech side into a more wikipedia style. Have walk through with pictures. Im sure all of us could pic a task (such as change plugs or pull engine depending on skill level) take pictures as we are doing it and then do a write up. We all pitch in, take a job or two each and we would have a full on tech centre worthy for our members. New members get 3 months of the tech centre, then you have to pay. Everything is printer friendly and is completely step-by step, ikea style instructions. even tells you what tools you need at the beginning. make people want to use our site and therefore pay. Start our own show: we go to other shows, we pay other peoples entrance fees. Why not start our own? Maybe team up with the Zclub, but why not start "ZedFest" or (in honour of Jeff) "ZedWorld". host it in different locations each year, whether its a track or a field. We can camp, BBQ, open it to the public like goodwood, simply japanese etc. open to all members. These are just a few ideas I have had over the last few days. I am pretty good with computers so could help there a lot. I am all for taking us to the next level, but people need to want to do it.
  13. I don't use facebook either, haven't done for two years now. This is the place to learn about meetings, items for sale and general chitchat. Agree with this, I have developed my car skills from not knowing which end of the spanner to use to being able to replace my entire suspension thanks to this forum. In my mind the £20 is well spent, its 5p/day or the cost of a mcdonalds latte a month...
  14. I would like to apologise that My friend and I didn't make it either. We were watching the BBC weather radar all night, then checked it again at 4.30am when we should have got up to meet and leave in convoy, but it was already torrential here and decided against. I don't really do car shows due to work and what not, but simply Japanese is always circled on my calendar, even Alexa knows it! I am gutted that I didnt make it, but well done to those that braved it! Not sure i like the carbon wrapped GTR or the slammed mx5, the datsun sunny seems retro and cool though! It annoys me because I spent most of the day before washing, polishing and caressing mine and my mates car to get them shinny and ready and it was all done in glorious sunshine! Then it started raining during dinner... oh well roll on next year with sun and heat...maybe get Stephen organising the weather again
  15. I have found them excellent. They seem better on the wife's TT but I think that's because they are bigger. When you brake there is a slight moaning noise from the rotor grooves as the pad is touching them, but with the windows up you don't hear it and i don't mind it anyway. maybe getting drilled only would stop the noise?
  16. https://www.mtecbrakes.com/brake-discs/nissan/zx-79-94-280zx-300zx/300zx-coupe-turbo-targa-z32-03-90-07-94.html I have drilled and grooved, I get front, back, pads and last time I got brakelines too. I also pay for the silver coating and paid about £270 all in i seem to remember. My wifes TT has them too.
  17. expensive divorce maybe?
  18. Will be coming along the A27, M27. Leaving Eastbourne at 5.45 if anyone from folkestone/Dover way wants to meet at the Polegate roundabout petrol station. We should be at Arundel by 6.45 for people who want to join on the way? We can pause at Arundel services just off the fake A27 junction before going through Arundel...

  20. £628 for tickets to Japan... waiting for my holiday request and the wife to say we can afford it... then it will be rugby, shinkansen and car auctions...
  21. Englands modus operandi: Play well for 35 minutes, score. Come out at half time completely different and fall asleep. Get caught napping and start drawing, fail to up their level, start loosing. forget that it is a knockout and not a league game, pass the ball a bit. Realise with 5 mins to go that they are loosing...loose. Its been the same for as long as I have been alive. A few things I will take from this world cup: A lot of cheating from many different teams, mostly south american. The level of ref'ing has been pretty bad and bias VAR was useless...I suspect on purpose so they can have an argument for scrapping it. England players should have salaries slashed and national team training doubled. National team should out rank anything and everything. In 4 years time, hopefully we will see a better more mature team, until then Im off to watch the rugby
  22. There is an app for android (maybe iPhone too, but I dont own one) called "Vehicle Smart". It is is really good, you can check number plates and its based on the MOT database so it updates as soon as the tester has done the paperwork. The app normally tells me if the car has passed before the tester comes out with the paperwork! You can save up to 4 cars in your garage and save all kinds of info such as VIN, paint codes, oil type etc which is great if you are forgetful like me! Lastly it will do HPI and outstanding payments on the car checks, but those you have to pay for. I paid the one off fee to open up the pro features, well worth it. I always use the app when looking at cars on the internet and it stops me even contacting some even before the looking stage. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jvelimited.vehiclesmart&hl=en_GB
  23. :thumbup1: We could meet at the Arundal services just off the A27? or meet at the petrol station on the Chichester by pass, the one on the westbound side with the ex little chef that now sells "sports Cars"...
  24. We are leaving from Eastbourne and will be doing the A27 all the way
