  1. You got to be different. If she's fit, she would have heard every chat up going and will think you're boring! Dont comment on her smile, eyes or anything like that. She probably hears it everyday. Instead take the p*ss out of her handbag in a joking way or make a comment on something she's wearing. Jewellrey is always good as they dont expect men to notice. Either way, talk is the only way! On your first couple of encounters with her, just talk and do what I said above. If she seems to like you then ask her for lunch. To be honest its not really what you say, its how you say it. If you talk to her with a stutter, looking down and scratching your arse you wont make a good impression. HTH
  2. My friend bought a stock W reg 2000 Mitsubishi Evo 6 and paid £15000 for it about 18 months ago. It had only done about 30k miles and one lady owner. Its now running 388bhp at the fly and did 12.7 seconds 1/4 mile on a standard clutch. He's got a MoTeC ECU (£2.5k), Blitz boost controller, Kakimoto Exhaust and Magnex decat and is running 1.6 bar boost and anti-lag by a flick of a button. Pretty much everything that is likely to wrong on his car has gone wrong i.e. slipping clutch so he fitted an Exedy twin plate racing clutch, Turbo actuator went so he fitted a new one, warped discs and so he fitted new AP brakes and the list goes on. I think it all depends on how you treat the car and how it has been treated previously. All performance cars need a lot of TLC and is likely to cost you £££
  3. Hi, I have Tein Coilovers and the ride feels very good. However, I am concerned whether they are too low. My exhaust scrapes when I go into my drive and sometimes if I go too fast over a speed hump. It never used to do this when I first got the car (2 months ago). The exhaust is not hanging down. How does Coilovers work as I aint got a clue! Is it possible for them to lower themselves if the device used to lower/raise the suspension is not done up tight enough? What could I check to see if all is correct and whats involved in adjusting them? Thanks Colin
  4. Oh my god. Who created that list. Most of those films are crap! The Ladykillers, Fight Club, Lost in Translation, Donnie Darko were some of the most crappiest films ive ever seen! However, I do agree with T2 and Alien, they're excellent films! What happened to Aliens and Star Wars and alike?
  5. Whos car is the 530 bhp red zed? I like :)
  6. Yep, continues code 34 and get safety boost most days (but not all the time. Its a bit intermittant). I've been told the sensor can be relocated. Is this a good idea?
  7. What's the Plenum and whats involved? How many hours labour to do this?
  8. fitted a Dett sensor without removing engine? If so, what's involved? Or must it be an engine out job?
  9. Do remember mine is a Jap Import with expensive mods. Also they said if I was to increase the car to 400bhp, they would only charge an extra £120  Also it depends on your area. Im on outskirts on London, which is probably more expensive than say York or something
  10. Yes the det sensor can be bypassed by a resistor, which is the common solution. However, if your engine does ever suffer from detonation due to a bad ECU map or poor fuel then the ECU would not be able to change the ignition timing or put the turbos into safety boost. A boost controller would override the safety boost but the ignition timing etc is not affected by the boost controller. If the car is under a lot of load with high RPM, detonation can burn holes through your engine in seconds! :(
  11. Insurance is crap really. They have everyone tied over a barrel! Even if you do everything by the book, they would still try and wriggle out of a claim! They are just a business at the end of the day :( and we get the short end of the stick! Mainly due to all the chavs that drive without insurance. Makes me mad!
  12. The person I spoke to at Adrian Flux didn't know what Coilovers were. So I told them that its adjustable suspension but it replaces the existing suspension. They checked with management and rang me back saying if its aftermarket suspension they don't cover it. They said they do cover lowered suspension i.e. new springs! :( Anyway, I didnt take any chances and went with A-Plan who were cheaper anyway!
  13. Dont know much about the UK models, I have a Jap Spec 300zx TT (Fairlady) and yes the Fairlady is a Twin Turbo. Read allow about the Zeds: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_300ZX I have just turned 24, got 4 years NCB discount and am insured with A-Plan for £1600, which I think was pretty good considering my age. They allow pretty much any mods expect Nitrox I think. Try them, they should give you a good quote. Their number is 08450711234, which is the Thatchum department and specialise in jap imports. They do have a website! They were by far the cheapest, cheaper than Adrian Flux! Also, Adrian Flux dont cover coil overs and I have coilovers! HTH Colin
  14. Will you drink Red Bull again as it contains "Taurine, the main ingredient in Red Bull, is an extract of the stomach lining of cows" :x: http://www.greatfacts.com/19.htm
  15. I need a new sensor too as I have the dredded error code 34 and am running safety boost frequently. I believe they go due to the amount of heat in the engine, the sub harness could melt or anything. Thats why the sub harness should be replaced at same time as sensor. I have rang The Zen Garage and MJP Autos and both said in order to change the sensor properly, the engine needs to be removed as there is so little space in the engine bay. A new sensor costs £170 and a new sub harness costs £30 from Nissan, so you're looking at £200 for parts. To have the engine removed you're looking at a minimum of £600 labour. MJP Autos said the best thing to do is have the new sensor relocated to the rear of the engine, it will only be about 80% effecient but this will only take about 1 - 2 hours to fit (£40-£60 labour). This is better than bypassing it all together using a resistor. This is what I plan to have done! HTH
  16. My friends got an MR2 Turbo T-Bar and standard they're only about 220bhp. You must do a lot to get it to 280-300 bhp. My friends MR2 is not at quick as my zed!
  17. lol. Nothing to worry about then?
  18. I only hear it from one piston though. Well one is noisier than the others!
  19. I get a tappety noise at number 9 on the picture above, near the oil filler cap! Its not a nock, just tappety. I can hear it at idle! Is this anything to worry about?
  20. Saw a White zed in Bromley Common, Kent around 8:30am. Dont know if they saw me though! I thought about tooting but didnt know if he was a club member! lol.
  21. I thought the video is the sound of knocking? It seems to fit the description. It does sound like a set of ball bearings being shaked in a tin and gets louder as you rev!
  22. Hello, Previously I didnt know what engine knocking sounded like. I feel its good to know so you know what to look for. Anyway, here is a video of a Toyota Supra, whose engine is knocking! http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=166330623163766700&q=engine+knocking Hope this helps as it did me! I now know I dont suffer from knocking
  23. Hi Guys Just found this: http://www.thor-racing.co.uk/Knock_Link_Kit-LNK_KL_KIT.asp Has anyone had it fitted? Also, does it connect to your ECU or does it only connect to the display module? If it doesnt connect to your ECU, I assume you would need to bypass the stock one?
  24. I think im paranoid but thought id better check. I am getting ECU error code 34 and I get safety boost when engine gets warm, so pretty sure I have a faulty dett sensor. However, I have not ruled out the possability that my car could be detting but I dont think it is. I can hear a swirling sound on idle, but I think it is just the belts. I get no rattling sounds on load or during hard acceleration. What do you think?
  25. I assume your Snooper is the old radar design, which do give off many false alarms as I used to have one. I believe the old radar detectors are now illegal! The GPS camera detectors are legal and are very accurate.
