  1. personnally, im not convinced about the back pressure argument. As we are talking about spinning a turbine surly its flow of gas over the turbine that spins up the turbo, so a free flow exhaust system should mean more gas over the turbine therefore as good a spin. It might be that your just not noticing as much of a kick from the turbo as the car is now pulling harder. Also, how much louder is the car? Was thinking of decating my zed, but its already very loud so dont want it to get any louder.
  2. mate your side lights are not the problem as they are the ones in the bumper, and connected to the rear lights / dash board lights. Headlight fuses might be the place to start... not sure where it is though? DOes your main beam work?
  3. mines autowatch so im guessing they dont have the same warranty anyone? Dont suppose you know what he adjusted at all do you? or was it purly an alarm thing he changed?
  4. My car came with a remote start alarm fitted which is a good toy. It works fine everytime as long as the weather isnt too cold / cars been sat overnight. If its been saat overnite in cold weather then it just turns starts for a bit (hunts rpm which it never does normally) then stalls. I think it might be as the remote start keeps the igniton isolated (ie no power to fans radio, dial lights) that maybe the fuel rail isnt being presurised on remote start? but thats just a guess... Clearly i dont want to mess around with a cat 1 alarms wireing, so maybe just use the remote start in warmer weather or after recent drives but any advice / re-assurance im not going to damage anything buy using it be good.
  5. true enough, i guess its just a good toy on the caar, and looks kinda cool when you turn the ignition off and they close in probably leave it then
  6. Which zeds had folding mirrrors as standard? Was it only a Jap thing or did some uk models have them? If i wanted to upgrade to them how much work we talking? new base plate and the wiring ? just new base plate as the wires already there (wishful thinking no doubt?) Cheers guys
  7. also where / how much you paying for media center? Im thinking of building a media center now ive got my xbox... take it you have thought of wifi in your build..
  8. obviuosly your tyre pressure will depend on what size rims / tyres your running though
  9. great advice mate, what about the ones that claim to be fuel system flushes? thought all modern petrols came with detergants etc in to keep the fuel system and injectors clean anyways... ??
  10. thats part of the reason the auto is listed as quicker to 60 i think..? keeps the turbos spooled up and doesnt dump boost between gears...
  11. cheers for the advice mate, thanks
  12. sounds promising, anyone got any news on the fuel system / engine flush treatments out there?
  13. thanks mate il be getting on with it next month then i guess... worth putting a reserve on ebay?? like £200?
  14. mate no need thanks already have one its just not been wired up thats all...
  15. thanks for the info.. so £130 all in to get this plate on retention and then ebay to sell. This will include the issue of a new plate for my car? I think i might leave it with reg transfers for a month or 2 as cash is a bit tight after buying my xbox360 lol
  16. :x: 21 psi    love to try that but no warranty kinda = no balls on my part bet it went like you wouldnt believe
  17. tried regtransfers but they have had the plate for 2 months and no interest. PLate on retention sounds the way to go. As for local dvla where would i find them? thought they were all up at swansea? Can i get a form from the post office and sort it out that way?
  18. same kind of question, but really looking at engine / fuel system cleaning products. not trying to hijack but saves a separate thread. I know someone that might be able to get me some cheapish wynns solutions but not sure if they worth even the lower prices..
  19. no problems, il give the car a run out and see how i get on, just wanted to make sure they were sensible settings for psi and not KPA...
  20. Im trying to sell the plate that was on my zed when i got it. SAZ 2484 (offer lol), and its been suggested to stick it on ebay. Ive checked the DVLA website but they dont offer any advise as to how to swap / sell plates on your own? I have heard it might mean me sending my v5 off to a random person, or having them send theres to me? Surely there must another way round sending logbooks to random people.? All advice welcome, also i would like to get back the previous plate that was on the car so im assuming this is fairly easy to do once the transfer has been sent to the dvla.. (presumably £80 transfer fee..?) Thanks all
  21. traction control is more of nice thing to have for the track in a standard 300, TT or N/A. They are powerful but as said above drive carefully in the wet and dont do anything too stuipid in the dry and it will be fine. The back should break away fairly predictably in the dry as long as you dont slam or lift off in a hurry. To be fair to the zed, its not going to be any different to a 200sx either in the wet! Take it easy and build up experiance before opening her up. After some practise, when its working good RWD and power is the best fun you can have on the road!!
  22. what sort of duty cycle to people think is best to run. Heard before shouldnt plan to run higher than 95% injector duty cycle as a safety thing.? Surly that would suggest we should be looking at running no more 15psi on standard injectors anyways..?
  23. used to own a 200sx s14 manual now got a 300 (TT auto), both nice cars, but the 300 is a lot better to drive on longer distances. Both pretty tuneable if thats what your after, or quick standard. The auto box is very good IMHO, and I was always a manual man myself previously. S14/14s gone up in ££ recently due to the drifting scene, and to be honest the 300 offers better value for money. Insurance was pretty much the same in my case as my s14 was modded to stage 2. If your going for a 200 get the 14a (facelift) model, nicer car and tends to have a few under the bonnet slight improvements. I wouldnt go back to one though having driven my zed for 3 months. Always feels special driving it, and when you press the GO pedal really puts a smile on my face.. Any specific questions feel free to ask, but i hope this helps.
