  1. arr, i do have an after market steering wheel, is there any way round this problem keeping my after market wheel? do i need to get conzult out and play with the tracking etc?
  2. fluid is ok, whats the deal with steering wheel not centered?
  3. My HICAS light was on when i got tha car and was old it had been disabled. Not entirely true as the system was low on P/s fluid so topped it up and the light now gos out for about the first 10-15 mins of any journey. It then comes on and stays on?? Ive checked the fluid and its fine, the system works if you give the car some grief when the light is off but stops once it comes on. Any ideas where to start in getting the hicas fixed?
  4. My zed needs new front tyres. Its a 90 TT auto and the front tyres are dead. Currently its got shi##y tyres on from previous owner, and the front has always been a bit lively. the size is about 225/40/R18 from memory. What do people think are the best on a zed for fast road driving? Also best place to buy them? cheers all
  5. right, next question.. how easy is it to get in there and clean them?....
  6. Ive got hold of mattys old Z, so its fairly modded, runnning a jwt chip, derestricted exhaust, apexi filter.. few other tweaks and my profec b is in the post..... so wondering how much boost is safe to run on a z... my old s14 was able to run 17/18psi fairly safe, but guessing thats not a good idea on this...
  7. my headlights are pretty dim when dipped, just wondering if this is why everyone talks about HID kits.. is a cheaper option to swap the bulbs out for the halfords style 30% brighter bulbs or are these just a waste of ££££????
  8. mate im in dosthill at the moment, give my moby a bell if you wana drop by at some stage 07789 737149
  9. thanks yer ive already got an apexi induction on, so should be pushing some decent power after these few top up mods.... Ive spoken to jeff about my calipers but business is good for them as usual so im waiting a few weeks.... :headvswal (got some other work booked in with them aswell...) so was hoping to jump the queue and solve the brakes ... but thanks for the advice... should be running a decent zed when these things sorted
  10. cheers guys, sgt c your not far from me at the moment (im over in tamworth) , you know any decent dynos round here? Dont suppose your any good at freeing up calipers and fancy helping me out for a few beers? Im also looking at getting some type of boost controller... so be interested in knowing what my car has to offer with some extra boost and no cat..
  11. What sort of extra bhp are people thinking if you decat a TT? On my old 200 people said anywhere between 10 an 30bhp... i had it done and it definatly made the car pull stronger so thinking of getting it done for the 300....
  12. should be ok on a mid 80,000 milage car then....
  13. any milage limit to using a decoker/engine flush, thought id seen somewhere not to use them after the car had done more than 60k something to do with engine wear.. or is this just rubbish?
  14. notice any difference with them? or is it more a peace of mind thing than a feeling through the car
  15. anyone use any of these products?
  16. Slightly moving on from which fuel to use, does anyone rate/use additives you see for sale in places like halfords... decoking/fuel cleaning/coolant enhancing... the list gos on... just wondered if they are worth the money or if using optimax does just as a good a job? Be interested to find out guys...
  17. ive not noticed but wasnt really looking for it, il have a closer look tomorrow.. thanks andy
  18. Ive noticed my front wipers dont fully stop against the bottom of the windscreen... they are slightly up by maybe about 3 inchs, not much but bloody annoying, if i grease up the joints will this fix the motion....? or anything else someone could suggest?
  19. im lookingat getting this unit, only problem is ive got a mom evo wheel fitted to my car, so the connector for the cruise is exposed but no loom/stock wheel... do you think there is anyway i could get this to work on my after market wheel andy? Ive read through the manual online and its very comprehensive, its just the fitment against the steering wheel im worried about.. also does it remove the consant high rev / no power you sometimes get on the autobox like when accelerating slowly up a long hill.... auto box kinda gives lots of revs but little power... unless you boot it...
  20. so from this did anyone actually find a decent alternative to maplins and get it fitted to a zed or not?
  21. yea actually had a lookafter my post and realised about the dipstick thing, any specific P?S fluid recommended or just any decent brand do?
  22. mate to be hoenst i wouldnt take that lieing down, id push it further, and surly the cost you paid would be too high as most of the NAs are cheaper than the TTs, he might be right that you looked at it and brought it without noticing its a NA but even so he shouldnt be able to get away with false advertising...
  23. looking at getting the same done myself mate, problem seems to be that the manual boxes are a bit like rocking horse $hit..... there is a list of parts require in the faQ section and any of the decent garages associated with this forum have done the converstion before... seems to be about £400 labour and around 500-700 for the parts depending on how much you get the box for...
  24. Im thinking of swapping out my interior light for a more modern "theater" style (which fades slowly when the doors are closed..). And also thinking at the same time of swapping over tothe more soft light of the higher power leds around on the market.... Just wondering if anyone has done this before (save me reaching for the soldiering iron..) ... or if anyone else would be interested in a swap out unit or plug in swap...
