geeky_hawkes Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 my headlights are pretty dim when dipped, just wondering if this is why everyone talks about HID kits.. is a cheaper option to swap the bulbs out for the halfords style 30% brighter bulbs or are these just a waste of ££££???? Quote
SuffolkZX Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 Cheapest option is to clean the insides as it can make a real difference and costs nothing, you will be surprised just how much grime is in there, I know I was. Quote
geeky_hawkes Posted October 18, 2005 Author Posted October 18, 2005 right, next question.. how easy is it to get in there and clean them?.... Quote
SuffolkZX Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 For the best results take them out, take them apart and do the job properly, down side is its a lot of work, put a weekend aside for it, second option which a few have done is a rag and coat hanger, the main part to clean is the domed projector lense you can see inside the headlight, remove the bulbs and do the best you can. Bestest option, :D , take them apart, clean them, have the inserts chromed, fit HID bulbs and put it all back together, thats what I did and the lights are awesome. Quote
FASTREDZ Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 im sure someone was selling the chrome insides a while ago any idea who?? Quote
