Ive got hold of mattys old Z, so its fairly modded, runnning a jwt chip, derestricted exhaust, apexi filter.. few other tweaks and my profec b is in the post..... so wondering how much boost is safe to run on a z... my old s14 was able to run 17/18psi fairly safe, but guessing thats not a good idea on this...

hmm, standard boost is 9psi so i wouldent go above 14psi to be honest risk of detonation not good

bigger than 14psi is capable providing you get better injectors intercooler and larger turbos then you might be able to run bigger boost providing the engine 100%

Hi all, I'm new to the site and Z's. Mine is a 92/K plate twin t auto. The boost gauge reads -14 to +14. Is this a standard gauge as someone has told me they are normally -7 to +7. Also, what is HICAS and can it be disabled. Cheers all.

The UK models (all 2+2 twin turbo) have -14 to +14 on the stock boost gauge. The Japansese import Z's are slightly different with the gauge showing -7 to +7psi.

Stock boost on both UK and import is the same though!

HICAS is the rear wheel steer where the rear wheels move slightly when steering at speed. It can be disabled.......speak to Mike Feeney who can supply the parts to do this.

If you want more technical information on HICAS, do a search on http://www.twinturbo.net and lookup Henri le Hir.

OK STEVE E and thanks very much.

I have run 15.5 psi with no problems. The rolling road readout indicated no problems with fueling.
