  1. the dynamat spray as heavy as the matting? its great stuff but damn heavy if you want to do alot with it..
  2. cheers mate thanks... no chance its in some kind of standby mode or anything..?
  3. right i will have a look at that, i have checked everything under the bonnet.. it all looks kink free and in the right place...? I will pull the profec out and have a look behind the unit itself... is the display supposed to show psi on it or does the kPa just disapear when its in psi?
  4. After reading the weight saving thread, im really tempted to take out my spare tyre... thing is if i just get a few cans of tyreweld is this legal? and also if i do have a flat tyre that the tyreweld stuff wont fix (ie sidewall damage) then will the rac come out witha space saver..? or am i up sh1t creak without a paddle? Wondering how many other people have gone for this day to day?
  5. Im getting tired of my zed being slightly too noisey so ive decided to soundproof the car... ive got a small amount of dynamat for the boot space (around the spare wheel) but have noticed that either side of the boot there is a gap between the inside of the car and the outside wing. Im going to fill this space with something to try and keep some of the exhaust note out of the car... thing is what to put in the space? Ive heard of people using insulating material (loft type stuff) and expansion foam... just wondering what is going to be light but effective....
  6. looks like this will be a great weekend.. hoping i can make it.. (be my first time lol...) but should be able to join the convoy down as im only near lincoln...
  7. anyone got any ideas? and is it supposed to give realtime boost on the display?
  8. I had a profec B specII fitted recently at zedworld. As i had given Jeff about 2 days work to do in 1 day (handy of me ) we decided I would set it up myself. I copied some basic settings i found on a search here for 9psi lo and 13psi hi, then realised it was reading in kPa. Tried pressing buttons as the instructions said to switch to psi which i thought i had done correctly, but recently I have been told it should say psi on the display near where kpa was.. but it doesnt! Also just in normal mode it spends forever pretty much at 0 gave the car a good run yesterday and the display didnt change nor was a peak registered (even though peek is on?) then randomly pulling into ca car park it started to red 1, then 2, then 1 but didnt seem to tie up with anything the turbos would be doing...(as it should have been - anyways as was just idling along) Next time i turned the car on it went back to just reading 0, but then the peak display showed 2. That was it... Im totally convinced ive c*cked something up with pressing buttons on it... but anyone got any ideas how to get it working properly.. also am i right in thinking it should show psi on the display near where kPa was? and should it read boost "realtime" on the normal display and then hold the peak on that screen? (long post to say it doesnt work sorry)
  9. how much work was there in getting the backlighting for the center section...? my car doesnt have the 99spec (red) 300zx but surly i should be able to backlight the whiteish one red anyways?
  10. not wanting to spark up any more issues, but i have managed to find a crack for aston 1.9.1 if anyone is after it for "evaluation purposes only" then drop me a line on here.. im looking for somewhere to host it on tinternet but not really found anywhere...
  11. check all the pipes and electrical connectors around the engine. Could be bad MAF or that the wire loom is loose... expect to spend a while checking everything carefuly. and GIVEN a TT lucky you... (didnt realise the price had dropped that much!)
  12. geeky_hawkes replied to a post in a topic in General Discussions - Non 300ZX
sti/wrx fast cars especially in wet or on back lanes.. to be honest straight line TT kill them and an NA wouldnt be far behind.. but then when the back lanes start or it rains find a z driver thats willing to race them.... i know i wouldnt risk my z for that... as we all know the z is better looking... (and the roof comes off in summer...)
  13. any luck with getting a working crack guys? ive downloaded about 3 different cracks but none work with 1.9.1
  14. yea because everyone "owns" office  (clearly i do...)
  15. anyone email the crack to me please.. geeky_hawkes@hotmail.com thanks guys
  16. also as said before mate, if you could let us all know what the deal is once you sort it out.. bad news for you on the turbos, but you might be able to spread the gen to the rest of us should we get stuck in the same situation
  17. no heater matrix as there is no smell of coolant in the car. I just thought it might be a slightly leaky seal, its all just condensation, (thankfully no ice), just annoying...
  18. if you have a chip (jwt eg) then i think they riase the rev limit as I can rev my uk car to the red (although dont bother much). The uk car as said above only has an overdrive button on the gear lever itself, whereas i think the JP box button is forward of the lever.
  19. by heater matrix you mean the bit on the rear window? it clears fine its just that i cannot drive anywhere for a few mins as the car clears...
  20. During this time of year, everytime i go out to my zed all the interior windows are steamed up.. it happens really quickly but none of the other cars parked close to it are steamed up at all. Is it likely that one of the window / boot seals is slightly loose and thats letting moisture in? or it just the magazines i keep in the glove compartment too "hot" lol?
  21. best advice for most turbo cars is not to run the duty cycle above 90% and 95 at a real push.. boosting the fule pressure wont change the duty cycle of the injector, all it will do is make sure that should the injectors need to work upto 100% that fuel is always availble to them. Unfortuantly the only way forward IMHO is to go up injector sizes, sadly not cheap due to the req.fuel comp/ecu upgrade.
  22. mate thanks very much.. had to delay the job as sink homw fleet had other ideas for my time this weekend! When it comes to connecting the wires i will probably reach for my soldiering iron and sort it all properly... (theres alreayd enough insulating tape in the car from last guy im trying to get it all out!!) thanks again for the pics. i will let you know how i get on!
  23. and watch the f*ckin piggy banks (speed cameras...)
