best brakes with std wheels
pads are black stuff so not great but not cr*p either really... im not convinced how much difference a brake master cylinder brace would make to be honest... the brakes just dont bite enough and when under braking they dont feel smooth... think i might be heading down the skyline route as i have 18 in wheels to fill... r33/34 discs and then when the cash allows r33/34 calipers i guess... so heres the question.. will aftermarket r33/r34 type brake stuff fit on a zed easily? Or is it best to try and find a skyline owner that is upgrading and just get his OEM bits? (also whats the going rate for decent discs and calipers front off an r33)

Targa wind things
Im assuming the little pop - up things under the targa roof is some kind of wind deflector type thing. Does it actually do anything or can i just bin them ? Not massive weight saveing but they dont look great and dont seem to do much. (searched the wieght forums, but it got a bit too aggresive for me with ripping out seats etc.. have removed the extra weight in the boot lid and hoping to bin the above, just wondering if there is anything else obvious ?

viscious fan
18BHP for a fan swap... thats loads, no wonder the car feels more responsive.. for those kind of gains could be very tempted to bin the vis.fan! for 2-3 bhp wasnt going to bother!

Noisekiller
the dynamat has helped a bit but not massively, hopeing the loft stuff in the rear wings will help as the space is pretty big so noise will reverberate through it into the car.. heres hoping...

changing the standard radio
only thing to note is that I dont think the DIN surround will fit once you have swopped the headunit out. Unless anyone knows where you can get them you will end up seeing a small amount of the cage around the head unit... not huge issue but is slightly annoying..

Noisekiller
same sort of issue with my zed mate, although its not hugly loud, just annoying sometimes... i love the sound of the engine pulling hard under boost and dont want that drowned out by the exhaust... ive got some dynamat under the carpet in the boot.. but am going to get some loft insulation and stuff it in the rear wings.. if you pull the carpet up i the boot then there are a couple of small holes into the wings. The loft stuff isnt heavy (like dynamat) and is cheap... also easy to stuff in the gap. Only thing to watch is that the area is dry as the loft stuff is a bit like a sponge... im hoping this will clear up my noise issue...

Had enough of your job?
I HATE MY JOB When you have an "I Hate My Job" day, try this. On your way home from work, stop at your pharmacy and go to the thermometer section and purchase a rectal thermometer made by Johnson & Johnson. Be very sure you get this brand. When you get home, lock your doors, draw the curtains and disconnect the phone so you will not be disturbed. Change into very comfortable clothing and sit in your favourite chair, open the package and remove the thermometer. Now, carefully place it on a table or a surface so that it will not become chipped or broken.! Now the fun part begins. Take out the literature and read it carefully. You will notice that in small print there is a statement, "Every Rectal Thermometer made by Johnson & Johnson is personally tested". Now, close your eyes and repeat out loud five times, "I am so glad I do not work in the Thermometer quality control at Johnson & Johnson." HAVE A NICE DAY AND REMEMBER, THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE ELSE WITH A JOB THAT IS MORE OF A PAIN IN THE ARSE THAN YOURS.

Head gasket, probably....
to be fair it probably is much easier with the engine out. Had the turbo and manifold off on my 200 s14 in-situ and it was a big to work with really. Tightening the banjos up for the oil and water lines was damn near impossible and ended up snapping the spanners in half to get any kind of access. Then always the danger of cross threading one of the lines in to the (soft!) aluminum block. Think engine out has alot of benifits for the guys working on it. But it does stop people without all the kit doing it themselves which is a shame

Head gasket, probably....
have to admit i can sort of understand some people thinking of V8's but surly the turbo issue can-not be that big that its better to go that extreme... lots of threads recently about which turbo to go for and there must be a simple way of getting the turbos swapped out without going down the replacement engine route... (however after saying must not clever enough to suggest it myself!)

Thoughts on these..?
anyone have some prices or links to co2 cooling for the intercooler... also appart from damping down the stirp you have to carry lots of water round.. and too be honest feel like my zed is heavy enough lol...
