  1. mate same problem with met black went for gold as well... be interested to see what your 2 part patin turns out like
  2. hate that damn wheel.... space savers.... anger!
  3. mate thanks very much.. the efforts apprechaited honestly.... save me wasting the whole weekend for a simple job....
  4. i was under the impression that turbo cars didnt really need flamer kits as there is normally enough unburnt fuel when you lift off from overrun... its just a case of getting the exhaust hot enough to light it.. (my old 200 used to flame often on the track once it got upto speed..) maybe im wrong though
  5. anyone had chance to get some pics for me yet?
  6. i think running it at idle isnt as effective as driving the car gently for the last few mins of the journey.. its nice to run it at idle but it also means the other fluids dont get chance to cool... so taking it steady for the last bit on the way home is good and doesnt pi$$ off the neighbours..
  7. aniline/xylene fuel mix ?? dare i ask...lol
  8. taking it steady for the first and last few imns is good for most of the car not just turbos... gives the temps of everything chance to stabilise.. especailly brakes.. so easy to thrash it stand on brakes walk away and leave the heat in the pads to warp your discs!!!"!!! I agree about why owna turbo timer.. just take it steady to be honest... but I guess if your lacking control then TT the way forward...
  9. the dual intake system looks nice but ultimatly I dont see it giving your car any extra performance
  10. id not really counted boost jets... but yea 5p for bhp... :hyper:
  11. if its the same as a uk its 75l off the top of my head
  12. NO, might be worth doing a scan, modern bios nearly always have an automatic mode.. or scan / search that allows them to autodetect the hard drive.. The bios should tell you how to change each setting.. normally page up/down or left rigtht on the cursor keys... however if the laptop is partially booting windows then it is seeing the hard drive and it might just be a section of the bios for second drives your seeing...
  13. does sound good, but would be a bit too loud for me with decat... ive got some dynamat waiting to get fitted in my boot... hoping to quiet down the noise just a bit...
  14. reason im worried about the noise is the fact that my zed has stainless exhaust anyways (2xtwin scorpion) and is loud enough for my use. Only reason I would decat is to get the extra 15-20 horses!! Generally, decats offer the best value for BHP IMHO on turbo cars...
  15. you should be able to get away with installing windows over the top of the current install. Do you have the windows xp cd or just the recovery disc (ie the one that wants to restore your pc to the factory settings..= bad!!) If you do have an xp cd then the best thing to do is stick it in the cd.dvd drive, boot off it and run the install as if its the first time... If you select the same directory as the current windows install (normally c:\windows) the windows install "should" then repair the major components of the install so you can reboot into windows. In my opinion, if it does restart; take that chance to back up everything you changed since youve had it just incase windows crunches again. From there you could put in the recovery disc if you needed a fresh install
  16. cheers legrath... that does kind of make sence to me now. And totally my experiance of decats on other cars as well regarding the seals ...
  17. mate whats it doing appart from not booting up? the free space in the partitions youve just mentioned isnt enough to run win xp (or 98 for that matter really) so it seems like windows is probably still intact. You might get away with just installing windows over the top and then with some luck it may boot up correctly (assuming your getting no errors on windows startup currently )
  18. need to get mine done as matty had done the seats and they look smart but let down by the panels... think when i get round to it il be begging for help in lincolnshire... and pay back with beer.....
  19. mate i bet it does sound good..... about a mile away!
  20. this zed downfall of turbos by decats confuses me (not questioning the authority of guys at zedw, but just asking for more information) surely if the turbos are fine a decat wont hurt them, and the decat downfall is more a case of the problem being highlighted earlier? if im wrong ready to stand corrected... but ive decated previous turbo'd cars and enjoyed the extra BHP with no ill effects and am not really sure why it should be any different on a zed
  21. apexi at only £90 is definatly the way to go! glad of mine just for hasstle free services and the deeper induction note!
  22. just my comp or anyone else not see the pics?
  23. definatly sounds like headlight fuse then to be honest
  24. ferodo pads are really good but tend to be fairly expensive in my past experiance. EBC pads are colour coded for use, i have black stuff on atm from last owner and they seem kind of standard to be honest.
