Another MOT emissions problem!
FYI when logging on a vehicle for test it doesnt give any indication of it being previously tested (pass or fail) it will only show a previous pass if you attempt to test a vehicle which has more than 1 month left to run. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

Another MOT emissions problem!
You should have been given a printout by the testing station. Its possible that the cat just wasnt hot enough. This is critical on aged catalytic convertors. Seeing the data from the printout is necessary to help diagnose the fault. Thats why we issue the emission report after a test.

Sad news mate. Honestly i would take this oppurtunity to convert to manual. You know the headache that comes with used auto transmissions. Going manual will be the best thing you will ever do to your z. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

My Engine is gubbed ---
What torque did you tighten the caps to? Try backing off one cap at a time and see if you find the one causing the cam to go tight.
-
My Engine is gubbed ---
Was the head 100% torqued down correctly? And u say the cams are tight even with followers removed?
-
My Engine is gubbed ---
Were heads removed from the block?
-
My Engine is gubbed ---
Dont try and turn the cam if it doesnt want to. You will mess up the bearings. Maybe the cams are bent? How were they stored? How long etc? I had this issue once on EJ255 Impreza engine. That was due to a warped head.....
-
My Engine is gubbed ---
For future reference the passenger side is left bank. Do both cams go tight when bolted down or just 1?
-
My Engine is gubbed ---
Is it both cams on the left bank? Try fitting your cams without the cam followers in place. That will indicate if its a cam bearing pinching the cam without the load of the valve springs. If your head is warped or not correctly torqued down it will cause the cams to pinch. You sure all your bearing caps are fitted in correct order and facing the right way? Are these the original cams to the head?
