  1. Well I haven't got a chimney and I don't have kids......and I am an ass hole, so he won't be visiting.
  2. So how do you get through that door? I don't really do Christmas decorations, so no tree for me. I'm not usually in the country; this is the first Christmas in the UK for about 5 years.
  3. Saw that this morning. Shame it's an auto, but it looks like a great car!
  4. Before I go to the bother of asking friends in the US whether they have a spare set, I thought I'd ask here. For those of you that have bought replacement front fog lights from the US, you would have of course received US spec fog lights which did not have the cut out in the reflector for a side light. Any of you fitting the JDM reflector would have now gotten a spare set of US reflectors laying around. I seem to have misplaced mine and now looking for a pair so that I can move my side lights to the outer sections of my indicators. If anyone has any laying around, please let me know!
  5. Have a good one mate! Great to see you and the better half last week!
  6. Sure it's the knock sensor and not the harness? Best off replacing both of them if it is the sensor itself.
  7. It's probably because it directly borders landmass which work in kilometers I'd imagine which are why the regs are slightly different. ROI uses kilometers rather than miles. All vehicles sold in ROI are based on continental European specification (apart from being RHD) unlike UK vehicles which are generally of different spec to the rest of Europe.
  8. Maybe Irish eBay is different?
  9. If that car hasn't been road legal in a decade then that plate can't be transferred I don't think.
  10. That's an utter turd. Not even worthy of a project. If it had either a good engine or a good body then sure, but it doesn't have either and it's an auto and it has tweed.....this one really isn't worth saving imo.
  11. PS, Admin, this is without a shadow of a doubt a spam account.
  12. You can give us your bank account details and sort code so that we can wire you the monies directly.
  13. Ps, can I have your old passenger side one? I'd like to salvage the motor bracket.
  14. Yes, everything can be taken apart and swapped over. All you need is the base and covers from your exhibiting mirrors and you can transfer them over to the chassis of the replacement ones. It is possible to de-pin the connector as it enters through the centre of the base, but it's easier to cut the cable, pull it through, refit and solder back together.
  15. As much as I like the 99-spec, I wouldn't go out of my way to buy one personally. I'd rather get a low mileage mint condition earlier example which is likely to be better equipped. I also prefer the styling of earlier cars.
  16. A: Don't modify it B: Keep its provenance, quality and value by having it maintained by a specialist.
  17. Mercedes don't build a V10, they haven't for years. It'll likely be the V12 you're thinking of.
  18. Remove fuel pump relay and crank the engine. There'll still be a bit of pressure there, but it should reduce it. Get some rags around it too to soak any up.
  19. I don't agree with that I'm afraid. Sure, there are many overpriced ones out there, but gone are the days when you could get a TT manual for £1500 with MOT. 6 or 7 years ago, you could, fact. I do agree with the rest of what you suggest though, there are plenty of dreamers out there, especially the lambo doored UK model for £15k! what an abomination! At the end of the day, prices only go up when people ask for more money as the cars become rarer. This is why we see £100k Ford Sierras appearing! Sure, that's on a whole other level, but who ever thought they'd reach that sum. I certainly wouldn't pay that for one though. The only way prices are going to rise is if people ask for more money for them. They probably won't get it, but it's the way the cars values slowly go up.
  20. Irrespective, it's still an interference engine. It's more 'luck of the draw' with autos. M postcode....Manchester. I don't know anyone up there.
  21. I can think of 3 up within an hour from you who used to use this forum regularly........would it be one of those!?
  22. Do tell us who this 'z experienced mechanic is' please, dying to know who would suggest such a thing!
  23. It is an interference engine! If you have an auto you can get lucky as it disengages before damage can be done. That's a poor reason not to do it anyway. Get it done! :) - - - Updated - - - Andrew beat me to it!
