Something I've really started to realise lately is that times are all pub talk value and not much else. The Zed was in the drivers top 10 cars ever for years, I don't think the Mr2 was. There's not much that will touch a Zed in terms of total pleasure to drive on the road, regardless of whats faster, slower or whatever.

Doesn't look speeded up to me, a little jerky due to the frame rate maybe. Seems a bit of a ridiculous figure but I'd like to see it.

I reckon you should put a ruddy great spoiler on the back , get 25inch wheels (chrome of course), Also maybe convert it to a pickup?? Helpfully Dave

Oh, thats annoying. Don't give up in frustration though! Just go throught the stages until you find what it is. Do everything in the workshop manual, then start looking at dodgy wiring type things, I suppose you already are, but you'll get it eventually. I'm sure the techies will give some better suggestions soon.

There's lots of annoying things that can make the car run like a bag of gerbils. Maybe its worth changing the temp sensor (very cheap and easy) to eliminate that. Its not a particular cause but just worth doing. Have you had a conzult on it? if you can find someone nearby then that will help check more things.

Is it on idle or on acceleration?

I just bought a BMW 525i se tourer. Its a 1995 with massive milage 205k (!!) but full BMW service history. It has a very good body with no rust and only a few niggles and tatty paintwork etc. Its very powerful for such a practical estate car and handles very well. Its burning oil, I got a oil low light once I'd done the 70 odd miles home :( Hopefully I'll be able to keep it going through the winter but worst case its a rebuild but will still be pretty cheap as I only paid a grand (knocked him down from £1500). Maybe I ought to do the head gasket, rings and waterpump now ??? what do you think? Touch wood ,wish me luck and all that!

Chuffed you are happy mate, shes a beaut! My drove home wasn't as thrilling as the drive there, but was pleasantly enjoyable. I got a monster milage BMW 525i tourer. It actually feels very strong power wise and handling really well but used a fair bit of oil on the way home. Hopefully I can make it last through the winter with out a rebuild but it was very cheap so wont be that bad money wise if I do I suppose, just a bit of a bugger. edit - need to change my avater now :(

I'm just looking to spend a grand or two at the most on a run about mate as I have the rx7 now. I'm looking the the beemer touring editions and it needs to tow. It would be nice if it can go sideways as well though haha

Although its got to go, I think I'm really going to miss the Zed. I've done about 200miles over the last few days and its been absolute bliss. Perfect weather, the roof off, good roads and the Zed has been flying. I'm prob going to look at some cheap BMW 3 or 5 series Tourers at some point this week. At least I'll be warm and comfy over the winter! The rex will fill the gap in terms of performance and thrill but nothing will replace those sunny days with open roads and the roof off in the evening sun :bow: Rodders you're going to be a very happy Zed driver! On another note, does anyone drive BMWs here? is it worth looking at a 525i tourer that has 200k on the clock? it looks well looked after. Dave

funny ,my old zed used to bottom out on every bump but the one I have now never seems to have any problems. I love the sound of the Zaust in Multi Storeys!

Yep ,the VR4 is a very fast car, as powerful as the TT zed. There was one flying round CastleCombe last year as fast as any other car there.

I'd speak to whereever you are going to take it as I don't think that figure is all that far off due to the labour time involved. I spoke to someone recently who had been charged a similar amount for the same job and a few other bits. Dave

It's not an attitude I've ever had before but I'm really starting to get sick of the 'nanny state'. I do some stupid things sometimes, and hopefully learn my lessons , but currently I can't go out in the car without feeling like a criminal. FFS I don't drink much, don't do drugs, don't feckin rape,steal and vandalise and yet I can't drive around without worrying about getting a tap on the shoulder.

I know of what looks like a nice one of these for sale, if you go to http://www.ultimatejapcars.co.uk (i think! UJCC anyhow) and have a look in the for sale section. Its been for sale for a while but seems very nice and has been looked after by APmotors in Plymouth who are a very good performance car garage. They are very good cars with bullet proof engines. Good to see Zeds going for good prices. Should have asked more for mine ! 200sx are definately worth looking at. You can get some very good deals. Sure there isn't any more room in the back than a Zed though? Easy to work on though. You could get a very well modified and uprated internals s13 for that money as well. Also there's some nice BMWs out there if you want reliability and good engineering? maybe not such fast ones for that money though I suppose.
