A simple hair dresser warning to you all....
"Reminds me of when I was a little kid and thought the cat needed a trim, so cut his whiskers back! LOL Looked like a cartoon cat after that with bow-tie type wiskers! Bless him, he kept walking into things shortly after!" LOL thats hilarious - you were modding even at an early age!! Im surprised you didnt spray paint the poor thing pearl white!

Newcastle Auto mechanics?
Anyone know of any good mechanics in the Newcastle area who know their way around a Zed gearbox? I am having difficult getting the box into third. Before you say, i may get a manual conversion later but at the moment I am keen to try and save my autobox!!
-
when do u know that . . . ITS TIME!!!
Oh, btw I am on my third Zed now - there have been many occasions when Ive thought about giving it up but then when you get it going it just puts such a huge smile on your face! As well as that, will you be able to live with yourself when you see someone driving one past you and thinking "That could have been me!" - although at the end of the day its just a car I've never felt so connected to any of my previous cars -the spark will always be there - after all there was a reason we bought our Zeds i the first place!!

when do u know that . . . ITS TIME!!!
Hat off to you mate - i have followed your battle to get things rolling with astonishment. Shouldnt be that hard to get hold of a resonably cheap UK model which fits your needs - can I ask though why you want a UK car in particular? If you go for a Jap model you'll find much less corrosion (they use volcanis ash rather than salt on their roads). And why Series II?

How much...........???

Are most 350Z drivers completely ignorant?
VINI mate - youve got Nismo and Yokohama labels allover your car LOL! "New the z32 was aimed at the Porsche 911 driver" Very true MarkZX! So what is the modern equivalent of the Z32? BMW 6 series? On the way into Bolton today a black 350z came up behind me - i pulled into the left lane so he could pass (as i was potterijng about and not looking for a race) - instead he just pulled in behind me and followed me for ages - the roads then split and ran parallel to each other and as we were level I coudl see he was checking out my car quite thoroughly - I gave him a friendly wave but he didnt return it! 350 drivers do my head in!

Exhaust through the post!
I have heard a lot of great things about Leon at Alunox making exhausts. My car is still at the garage having bits and pieces done to it - it will need a new exhaust for the MOT as the old one is corroded. Since Leon must have done a lot of JDM SWB TT exhausts anyone know if it will be possible to supply an exhaust to the correct measurements which can then be fitted at my garage - or does the skill come in fitting the exhaust to my particular Zed (which will mean having it transported to Alunox as the MOT has run out!) Any ideas peeps?

Knife crime
"Carrying a knife in public should carry an attempted murder charge and the full sentence handed out with every single case." Everyone misses the point with tougher sentences - its not the prospect of longer sentences that are a deterrent its the prospect of actually getting caught. You could REDUCE sentences and reduce crime if the criminals actually though they would be caught!

Zed design flaws
"Surely a testament to how good the Z32 was/is?" Very true but that is why every other of the thousand threads is about how good he Zed is! THIS one is about the design flaws - like why make it so hard to work on the turbos?
-
Zed design flaws
Darkside: On the SWB you can see into the boot by looking through the WINDSCREEN between the two front seats! Oh, one other design "flaw"on the SWB is the location of the windscreen washer reservior - after i bought the car it took me about an hour to find it as I was crawling all over the engine bay!

Pain with my nuts
stupid problem really Car is undergoing MOT - I have 17" Super Advan Alloys which came with the car and when I have previously had my wheels changed the locking wheel nut was broken open (since there was no key that came with them) I therefore have four missing wheels nuts! Not being au fait with wheel nuts where can i get hold of some non locking replacements which will be compatible with my alloys (or do I have to buy a bunch and test them all to see if they fit?)
-
Zed design flaws
Oh yeah - why DOES the wiper have one last go when you turn it off - Id forgotten all about that - I really notice it when I turn off the wipers on a "normal" car! what about the temperature, boost and oil pressure gauges - NONE of which you can trust!!
-
Zed design flaws
To make those peeps who are selling their Zed feel a little less bad I thought i would start a thread on Zed design flaws. The thing that most winds me up about the Zed is that you cant put anything that looks valuable - eg a laptop bag in the boot as its quite easy to see through the front windscreen! Anyone got any others?

Potential Bargain?
why does the close up of the wheel look different to the main picture? It's like a wiers optical illusion because the further away you stand the straighter the spokes look!
-
Why?
!! I was just going to say it reminded me of the x6!!

Perfect Plate??
For sixty quid you can change your name by deed poll to K32 CBX

Z1 Motorsport
Thanks Dan - thats awfully kind! So far the UK traders I have used following recommendations from this site have all provided a top class service - always going above and beyond what i've requested - especially as regards honest and helpful advice to a Zed know-nothing like me. Top marks to Dan, Smithy, Luke @ ZCentre and Paul @ SWZ all of whom I have used in the past (- I'm sure the others are all good too but havent had a chance to order anything off them yet!) Kamran

Is this a Good Idea?
Good points Dan. The other thing is that the pound is almost certainly going to weaken in the near future so the savings might not be so great. Just floating the idea to assess how realistic it is.

Is this a Good Idea?
I understand that it can be difficult to obtain discounts when ordering parts from the USA. What if we planned a club super-order say eight months in advance - for example, if one person wanted a pair of new turbos, someone else JDM 99 spec lights etc and built up a lot of business to ask the three or four main US dealers how much they would be prepared to do the order for? Shipping costs would also be saved and with the Zed Id be surprised if everyone didnt need SOMETHING within the next eight months? If we put it to our American cousins and still no discount etc could be negotiated then everyone could just go about getting their parts in the normal way without any harm done or costs involved. Probably unrealistic but whaddaya think?

Z1 Motorsport
Quick bump I am thinking of ordering some parts from across the pond - Old Zed did you get things sorted with Z1?
-
My exterior
Lot of had work there - looks good but for some reason reminds me of Amy Winehouse! The only thing I would think about adding would be a couple of graphics in a different colour on each side - something bright rather than more black text maybe? Good effort and looks unique though!

Anyone fancy a group buy on the complete clutch line replacement?
Chalk my name in on this if it goes ahead!

Defi racer gauges
Really? That puts things in a whole new light! Did you have to pay any import duties etc?
