  1. hmm we can argue about pensions and suchlike but surely the fairest way to determine what they are paid is either 1) privatise the whole system and let the market decide (trust me you would be paying them a LOT more if this was the case) or 2) Let an unbiased and independent body decide. It seems to me not many people would opt for (1). An independent and unbiased study group has recommended a fair amount so now the Government should pay them what they are owed. Simple as.
  2. Sorry to bump this (and i know its a stupid question) - does anyone have any idea about how a noisy and possibly malfunctioning clutch will affect the speed of the Z?
  3. Since all serious crime has been solved, New Labour are now spending our money on this: http://www.morningadvertiser.co.uk/news_detail.aspx?articleid=50988
  4. thats a comfort! I wonder - do you thinbk it makes any difference to your Z's acceleration though?
  5. thanks - oil level checked - it seems OK. So if it was the bearing would it actually make a lot of difference to the acceleration or just create an annoying noise? I cant help feeling my TT isnt as fast as i remember
  6. I have a whining clutch - the sound disappears when i push the clutch pedal down (even in neutral) but then reappears when i let go (and increases in pitch when i accelerate). Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this? And secondly, would it make a huge difference to the acceleration? For some reason my Z (SWB TT Manual) just doesnt feel as fast as it used to - im not sure whether this is just me getting used to the speed or could be due to the clutch. cheers in advance!
  7. A lot of the main questions about the Z have already been answered (eg "how can i improve my headlights/brakes/insurance quote" etc) and can be searched for in the archive. The non-Z forums however are endless since thee are always new films/laws/stupid bits of bodykit to discuss.
  8. I#m sure a lot of people have looked at the link you have posted and will make a donation etc. I wouldn't be too worried about the lack of posting on here as there isn't really much to say about it.
  9. could only get nine - great link
  10. Did you notice any change on your speedo? I had similar symptoms when the speed sensor was playing up and intermittently cutting out the PAS/HICAS
  11. Forget the 300zx. If we banned EVERY SINGLE motor vehicle from the UK including motorbikes and agricultural vehicles we might do the environment some good - but how long do you think it would be before the growth of China and India CANCELLED OUT that good? 12 years? 10? No - SEVENTY DAYS! That is because China alone is opening one new gas or coal fired power station EVERY WEEK for the next TEN years. We are now at the stage where hard working folk are finding it too hard to do business in this country and so where does it go? Thats right, India and China - fuelling them even further!! Arrrrrrrrgh! I tend not to fly abroad for holiday unlike most of my friends who jet out on cheap flights two or three times a year - you can bet my Zed produces far less pollution in ten years than even one of their flights but aircraft fuel isnt taxed so WE get hammered. Really getting p1ssed off with this Government.
  12. I have a jap import TT and am travelling between manchester and newcastle three times a week in it. I thought it would be a good opportunity to try out a few different fuels and driving styles (eg 2000 vs 2500 vs 4000 rves most of the way) to determine the best mpg. Only problem is thats its an arse to keep converting litres per kilometer to mpg - anyone got a good link to a site that will do this? the firs half dozen i tried on google have been crap. I have had two runs already and the MPG changed from 27 to 21 just by switching fuels! Hopefully the data will be interesting - i might post it up after a few months. many thanks
  13. Northbound on Sunday 09/09 - was it you?

  16. Is that the "Helicopter" bodykit you've had fitted?
  17. As the great man said... "More fun than watching the entire French Air Force fly into a fireworks factory!"
  18. So how long is it after truning off before the turbos actually start becoming harmed?
  19. OK you have been caning your Zed hard on a hot day and you are running low on petrol. You happen across a petrol station (the only one for miles around) - my question is: Is it safe to turn off the car whilst you get petrol (since you will then be driving off shortly thereafter) or would you sit about for a few minutes with your turbo timer on (which can be difficult at a petrol pump)? Obviously you can put the turbo timer on once you get home but what about temporary stops of a few minutes to get some petrol? will this harm the turbos? many thanks
  20. cheers mate - thanks for the thought - i will get someone onto it in the morrow lovin' your sideskirts by the way
  21. Cheers T-pot Dammit sounds complex - I am crap with this sort of thing - anyone know anywhere in the Manchester area who is recommended for this sort of thing? Electrics specifically rather than general Zed garages?
  22. If only there was a way to run it with the turbo timer so it would pump th eair into the engine bay after it wasnt needed!
