air filter upgrade ?
I've used both HKS and Apexi, found the Apexi to be much better, car just drives smoother and seems to respond better.

Which spark plugs
In your opinion mate, what's the better option of the two? I only do around 1500 miles a year so they won't need changed very often?

Which spark plugs
My car currently has the 60k service interval Iridium plugs, been told to change these for colder plugs. I am no expert so looking for advice from you guys. Car is a 93 Jap TT. Converted manual from auto so has standard auto turbos, Zedworld chip, Apexi single filter, ARC intercoolers, boost jets set at 1 bar, Japspeed decats turbo back exhaust. I'm planning in the future to get a nistune board and get it set up correctly as I'm sure it is over fuelling slightly. So what plugs should I run?

Central locking inoperative
The bay mate :)

Central locking inoperative
Sadly not mate, screen is smashed and also it's not operating as it should, need to pop it open and see exactly what I've broken, just like a Zed lol.

Central locking inoperative
Sorted, although there was a little collateral damage in that my iPhone got a bit wrecked after I stood on it, had a few nice pics of the repair job as well lol. Managed to get the two bits of broken bar tied together by bending them then using tying wire, rock solid now and good as new.

Central locking inoperative
Stripped the door down today, still to take the outside handle off as there appears to be two small covers over the bolt/screw holes, and they are very stiff, trying to get them out without causing damage. What I can see inside the car is that there is a metal bar that has snapped, trying to figure out where it goes, will post a pic soon.

Central locking inoperative
It turns left and right, but feels loose and nothing seems to happen. Whereas the passenger side feels normal and locks? Can't figure out how the drivers door being faulty stops the central locking working on the passenger door, or are they connected?
-
Central locking inoperative
Just to check, why does this stop the passenger door also locking?

Central locking inoperative
Cheap enough till you check the shipping, what a bloody ripoff! Wonder if MJP has anything similar?

Central locking inoperative
I usually use the alarm key to lock the car. Today I tried to open the car before I had unlocked it, and hey presto it wasn't actually locked. I then noticed that when I press the key although you can hear the doors sounding as if they lock, they don't actually lock. The passenger door can be locked with the key, but not the drivers, it has to be locked and unlocked with the handle inside. Can anyone shed any light on what is happening?

Where is this glass view port thing? And what is it for?

Door mirror query....
Thanks mate, seems I have a series II, and that's what I thought.

Anyone seen this?
Just round the corner from me, shame I am totally skint, you would make a bit of cash from that easily.

Door mirror query....
I have a problem with my drivers door mirror. My car is a 1993 Jap LWB TT. I got hold of another mirror mechanism but it's no use as my mirror has heated glass as well as the a connector for the wires, whereas the mirror assy I got was hard wired. I have attached a photo of the mirror assy on my car. My question is, is this the correct one for a 93 Jap LWB TT, or has my car had a different mirror fitted in it's life? Just so I can make sure I get the right one next time. Thanks.

k sport brakes
Surely there must be places than can manufacture discs to your spec? I have the K Sport kit also, but stuff paying that for a set of discs, the standards pads they do are crap as well.

Poor Running in Rain
That is the exact same thing that used to happen to me in the rain when I had a gubbed induction kit. MAF also another thing I'd consider.

Engine rebuild vs constant repairs
Get Zedworld to check it over as groover says, compression check, then go from there, I wouldn't go to the hassle of a full rebuild unless you either need it, or you want big power in future. Seals, timing belts etc can all be fixed and most engines will need them, I know my rear seal was away a few years back, and just had timing belt done, engine is perfect otherwise.

Snapped front spring
MJP it is then, same spec as before, hopefully last a bit longer this time, but with the dodgy roads we have, who knows.
-
Snapped front spring
Might give him a bell, the spring that snapped came from MJP though, so not sure if I would want them again.

Snapped front spring
Slight update, seems the springs where replaced at the same time as the shocks, 4 years and 12k ago, guess this is what happens when you live in an area that has more potholes than road.

Snapped front spring
Was changing the oil earlier today and to my surpise noticed that one of the front springs has snapped. It is broken in exactly the same place as a thread Jeff put up back in April regarding seeing lots of cars with broken springs. Not something I can tackle myself, so will have to get a garage to do it. What sort of springs are out there, I'm quite happy with the way the car drives, it's using Tokico shocks which were replaced before i got the car and I've no reciepts in my history for springs, so assume they are older and standard, but not sure how to check if they are standard or lowered? Cheers guys.

Engine Build Take 2 Plus CPZ Order
Just had a look through the full thread. Great work and sounds lovely. You will be delighted once it is all setup and running, then you can get it out a blast and tear up the tarmac.

Big shout to Sky Insurance
Well was that time of the year again, insurance renewal. Decided to try Sky and their modified policy:- I'm 32. All mods declared on car, chip, intercoolers, filter, exhaust, brakes, wheels, etc, interior, etc. Agreed valuation. CU80 conviction. Fully comp. 3000 mile limitation. Not a classic policy, so drive other cars etc. £325 :) Made me a very happy boy :) I've just had a knee operation, so just need a few weeks of recovery then I will be good to go. Thank you Sky Insurance.
