  1. Ok mate, best time for me would be the weekend, during the week things are always too hectic lol, good old family life. Will pm you once I have a free weekend, cheers.
  2. Troons not too far, if there is no-one else then I guess I could be having a trip to Troon :D In Airdrie and you've still got the big beast of a Pickup Alan!
  3. Looking to hook my car upto someones Conzult if they wouldn't mind helping me out? Preferably near ML6 7TR. Cheers guys.
  4. The UK weather and road conditions mean I hardly get to drive the Zed, just SORN's my car as well. Covered about 3000 miles in 3 years, and that makes me sad! Hopefully next year we get some good weather and the councils get the potholes filled. Wishful thinking?
  5. Welcome mate, nice to see someone not too far away!
  6. The Zed heats up very quickly, I had my car attached to an after market gauge and it was upto temp in minutes just like on the standard gauge. I personally don't see the point of aftermarket temp gauges as Zeds don't tend to overheat like Renault 5 GT Turbos and the like, unless you are going for big power.
  7. That sounds like the way my first Zed was, on the motorway it was brutal, sounded like a jet fighter as soon as you went over 60mph. Current car should be loud as people say Kakimoto boxes are loud, mine seems rather quiet though, even with cats removed and the only boxes on the system being the back boxes. Hope you get it sorted to your liking soon. And enjoy the Zed, awesome cars.
  8. According to Ash specs are: NA: 186psi is 'perfect', minimum of 136psi. TT: 174psi is 'perfect', minimum of 121psi.
  9. Ebay was the cheapest, go for a Bosch S4 or S5.
  10. The Zed does not look 25 years old, I've always thought it has a timeless design that just seems to get better looking. Wonderful machines.

  12. Just seen this thread. Really hope you have some relief soon mate. You have been going through something difficult for a while now and it's not just the physical problems, it becomes mental too. Your a fighter though so keep fighting, god bless.
  13. I'm running a bar of boost, fitted a pair of used ARC side mounts when I got the car, they are much larger than standard. Made a huge difference to how the car drives, just feels much more powerful, over the full rev range. If you see the ARC intercoolers sitting next to a pair of standard ones you will understand why, they must easily be 2/12 times larger volume wise.
  14. Seems to be the USA for them mate Z1 and CZP.
  15. Simply, is it worth getting?
  16. So once it cooled down I had another go. Took everything back off, plugs out, checked the gap on the plugs, most of them where 0.65, so increased that a bit. Stuck it all back together, same issue. After much messing around and swapping things it looks like I will need some new coil pack wiring connectors, they are all in a mess and don't seem to sit tight enough as they are all missing pieces. Did get the car running ok, but connectors definitely suspect.
  17. I used MJP the last time, wasn't dear.
  18. Attached a photo of the plugs I removed from my car today. How do they look to a trained eye? Cheers.
  19. It's running a bar of boost, o-rings where all still present, I'm hoping maybe one is sitting a little off. I didn't drop a bolt in the actual engine, it was in the engine bay.
  20. So, Decided to change the spark plugs and also do a compression test at the same time. Plugs have been in there for 6 years or so, wanted to freshen them up. Compression test I wanted to do as I plan future power upgrades, and wanted to check the condition of the engine. Initially all went ok except for the coil pack wiring connectors being very brittle, going to change them as they were already missing bits before I touched them. Balance bar off no problems, plugs all out easy. Compression test, all cylinders hovering around the 165 mark so pretty good for a 20 year old block. New plugs are BKR7E-IX, I didn't regap them (they came pre-gapped at 0.8mm, standard plugs were 1.1mm) and I think this is where I may have come unstuck though not 100% on that. Put new plugs in, coil packs all on, balance bar back on, started car, seemed fine, gave it a rev then let it tick over, nothing seemed amiss. Then realised I hadn't put on of the bolts for the coil pack which was under the balance bar on the passenger side. So took the balance bar back off, then went to put the bolt in, dropped it, and it's now nestling somewhere in the engine bay. So thought ok will just fire it back together again minus the bolt, coil pack seemed solid enough. Next time I start the car it is noticeably running different, getting dark so thought I better just st5ick car back in the garage then have another look tomorrow. Trying to get the car to the garage was awkward, sounded like a Scooby, and wasn't running well at all. So, I'm not sure if I have made an error when I removed the last coil pack and balance bar to put the bolt in, or whether the spark plug gap has started causing a problem. Can any you guys offer me some advice on what to check for tomorrow? Feeling slightly nervous, don't want wreck my engine!
  21. Mark inbox is full mate :)
  22. Final thing, do you guys regap the plugs for the Zed?
  23. Busy is good mate! All the best for the new venture.
