  1. Those rear wheels are absolutely bonkers!! :thumbup1:
  2. A popular mod on the Celica forum was to change them for Volvo ones. I keep meaning to looking into the feasibility of using them on the Zed but never get round to it. If you pop one of your jets out and show me a picture of the underside, I'll be able to tell you straight away whether the Volvo ones will fit or not, mate :)
  3. I'll post more info later on this coming week but my Zed's going up for sale. She's a 1991 JDM TT in GL2 black, originally automatic but converted to manual last year. 80,000 miles, but a good portion of those will be kilometres. Me and Tomfromthenorth have "arse-dyno'd" her and we both reckon that the engine's been fettled in some respect as power output feels higher than standard. She has a Zedworld sticker on the ECU: The car will be essentially standard in most respects (no big brakes, OEM seats, original taillights, etc). I will more than likely be letting the private plate go with her as well - FAZ 323 - which nicely contains "Z32" if anyone wanted to play about with the spacing ;) This was valued recently online at £1500 itself. Good points: Low mileage for age. 12 months' MOT. Fairly new blue tint windscreen (bronze glass aside from that. Healthy, powerful engine. Manual transmission. GL2 Black paintwork cleans up well. Full stainless exhaust, possibly Mongoose. Cruise control works as it should. Private numberplate. Bad points: Rust on O/S rear arch and edge of rear screen. A healthy smattering of stonechips. No intercooler ducts. Flaking paint on a couple of edges (round door handles, aerial, front bumper, etc). So that's the lie of the land, really. Aside from a power steering leak shortly after I bought her, I've honestly had no issues and she's been super-reliable and (as Tom will confirm) pretty rapid when required. I'll get some up to date pictures in the next day or so, but looking for £1,500 to drive her away. :) Si.

I haven't - I threw everything out before I moved last month as nobody wanted anything and I couldn't carry everything to the new house. If I come across any, I'll let you know :)

I should be down in Kent later this month... :)
  6. For what it's worth: I think it's a very nice looking Zed (awful front bumper aside) and I wouldn't be ashamed to own it - I'd change some bits, but that's just me. I can't help but wonder why he's happy (?) to lose 50% of his money so soon after buying it though...!!
  7. I had the Elegance rear spoiler on my first 400 replica! :D And just for Gary: I later bought a 3.0 converted 400 replica that had the obligatory 4 Super Oscars bolted on. :) The MegaManta in question... I always preferred the Mantzel Evolution widearch kit myself: Every now and again, I'll look on the Bay to see what mantas are available... but I know I sadly don't have the money to do one justice... superb cars!
  8. My only real issue with that blue one on eBay is... I really hate the Strosek front bumper!! I just don't think it suits the look of the car at all. :( A few years ago, I used to go to a monthly Jap meet over at the Nissan plant in Sunderland. More often than not, there was a blue Strosek 300 there and it just demanded peoples' attention! But I grumbled about the front bumper even then... I love widearch cars, especially older ones like Manta 400s, X-Pack Capris and, of course, Zeds! :)
  9. There's definitely a boost gauge there!
  10. Quite a sizeable difference between the two types there, Gary! The TwinZ ones look nice, but I've just been looking over on Z1 and the pre-order runs til December and they expect the delivery by April!! Seems an incredibly long time to wait to me... :(
  11. Quick question: how rare are the OEM spats? Especially how rare are the SWB ones? And what real difference is there between the two types...?

I don't know anyone round here with a car trailer, mate - sorry! :(
  13. The only thing I can help you with here is the idle increase when you put the aircon on. That happens because it's an extra load on the engine so it automatically increases the revs to compensate (as the aircon's engine-driven). It's meant to do that, basically - that's why fuel consumption increases when you use the aircon. All your other issues though... not a clue! :( Sorry to hear your woes though, matey!!
  14. I didn't realise that Car.Mad's replicas actually have the "Xenon" script on them! A nice little touch there.
  15. Mine can be intermittent as well - I find a quick flash of the hazards brings them back to life again :)
  16. Thanks for all the comments, guys. I had a long chat with Tom last night and we weighed up a lot of the pros and cons involved, so I'm going to give it some serious thought and not make any rash decisions. :) I know there's not a huge amount of difference between the two visually. I do prefer the look of the SWB interior and there's not a lot of need for me to have 4 seats... but, as Lexx and a few others have said, I do know my car pretty well now... Guess I'll just have to keep mulling it over!
  17. Right, I need advice here please! I currently have a 1991 LWB import, twin turbo, converted to manual. I'm estimating the work I want doing to it is going to be around £2.5k - £3k. Aside from a power steering leak at the back end once, she's never let me down. Tomfromthenorth's been in it and we both agree the engine's been tinkered with a little bit as she has a nice healthy pull on her. I always fancied the SWB before I bought my current Zed. So my quandary is this: should I plough some money into my 2+2 or invest in a shortie...? I honestly can't decide!!! :cursing:
  18. Linky! Is it just me, or is this a seriously beautiful looking example...?!:ohmy:

  20. Your front fogs aren't DRLs though. Not unless you pull them apart and fit lots of LEDs in them. :)
  21. I'm assuming you meant "illegible"... :) I'm always here to help you if you get stuck, Si... :thumbup1:
  22. What aren't his posts allowed to enter...? Is there some reason they're blocked from competing...? ;)
  23. Yeah, there'll be some of that somewhere...
  24. I've got 19s on mine at the moment. 255/35 rubber on the rear and 255/30 on the front as the 35s rubbed (standard suspension).
