  1. I've come to the conclusion that 25mm spacers on the front are a little... extreme... so I'm looking to get a pair of either 15mm or 20mm bolt-on hubcentrics to replace them. The problem is that my Team Dynamics alloys don't have any notches machined into the rear face of the mounting where the protruding wheel studs would sit. I don't really want to have to cut my studs down so the wheel sits flush on the spacer so I wanted to get peoples' thoughts on the idea of having an engineering firm machining the relevant holes into the rear of the mounting face on the front wheels! I can't stress enough that this wouldn't be me sat at home with a drill - these would be properly machined. Is this a bad idea? Is it likely to completely affect the balancing of the wheel afterwards? Would it possibly structurally compromise the wheel...? Thoughts please, team! :)
  2. Mine charged me £20 to swap cars and update my address and occupation a couple of weeks ago...

I've checked with Fran and she's up for some nosebag on the Marina :thumbup1:

    Me :)
  5. Anyone got any thoughts on whether a 9.5" front wheel with ET35 would sit too far out of the arch...?
  6. The S1 mountings for the speedo/boost gauge cluster are different to the S4 board - I bought a set of S4 clocks last year (not realising the difference) to repair my S1 speedo but the screw holes to attach it to the main housing are different. From what Andy's saying, later clocks than S4 ones can be swapped into the S4 housing, but the earlier ones won't fit (or at least the speedo won't). I don't know how feasible it'd be to transplant S4 plugs onto an S1 loom (and vice versa)... common sense suggests it should be reasonably straightforward.....
  7. Today's update: the snapped rear studs are now changed for some brand new ones courtesy of Mr F. :) Just waiting on my new rear discs and pads to arrive before I put everything back together again!
  8. Sent you a text anyway, Andy!
  9. If I want to have my rear side markers light up, where can I get the bulb mounts from? The holes appear to be the three-notch type that slot in and then twist slightly to lock into place. Thanks :)
  10. They did great work on my old Bomex spoiler - they had to fab new end sections for it, mount a brakelight and then paint the lot. :thumbup1:
  11. I may be selling my Team Dynamics Diablo alloys in the very near future. These were on my black Zed when I bought her. The rears are 9.5 x 19, ET35 and the fronts are 8.5 x 19, ET35 (I think - I'll check for certain this week). I have 25mm spacers on the front at present and these bring the wheel level with the edge of the arch. There is some kerbing on the fronts but, overall, they're all in decent condition. The tyres (Michelin rear, Continental & Yokohama front) are all heading near the legal limit but they are 255/35 on the back on 255/30 on the front. All centre caps are present and accounted for and, to the best of my knowledge, all four wheels are straight and true. Probably going to be looking for about £200 or best offer for them. Anyone interested...? :)
  12. What are peoples' thoughts on running 9.5" width wheels on all four corners? The wheels I've seen that I quite like have a concave face on a 9.5" width, but a flat face on 8.5" - I'd like the dished look on all four corners but is the bigger width a bad idea on the front end (for any reason)? Thanks. :)
  13. I can't find any Japan Racing wheels on their site, Al....
  14. Replacement boot spoiler ordered (a Car Mad 89 Spec replica) as, quite surprisingly, I actually like the OEM spoiler on this car :) Rear spats sourced - proper SWB ones as well! I'm currently umm'ing and ahh'ing over some new wheels... I debated a set of Rotas but they seem to be popular, so I'm considering a set similar to FunkySi's cross-spokes. And, at long last, I've ordered the Alcantara for my own interior!! :D :D
  15. Glad to see she's gone to a good home, Lee :thumbup1:
  16. Thanks guys! 40 years old... scary stuff...!! I've had no Internet til just now as the exchange went down in the wee small hours - not the best start to things. Heading off out for a meal with Fran shortly so gonna stuff my face and worry about the waistline tomorrow! :D
  17. Nice looking motor, that! ;)
  18. I'm looking for a really good radio fascia and also a cubby box to bolt into one of the slots in it - anyone got either (or both) of these that like to sell please...?
  19. Advice given the other day :)
  20. Today saw me finishing off getting the black Zed ready for collection tomorrow :) Hopefully the new owner will have as much enjoyment in her as I have! Whilst doing that, changes were made to Diesel (the name of the Shortie - named quite aptly after my friend's almost three-legged dog!)... all I need now is for my new studs to arrive and I can actually drive the damn thing!!
  21. Cheers, Stevie... but the three spokes aren't staying! I do actually quite like them though, truth be told... :)
  22. Cheers, Gary. The exhaust is one of Powerflow's finest and it seems to be in decent nick so it can stay where it is for the time being. There's little niggles of course, but she's an old car so I wasn't expecting something factory-fresh. Shouldn't take long to have her how I want her :)
  23. And the view from the top of my driveway this afternoon: Beautiful! :)
  24. Despoilered. Coilovers. A good, thorough service. Some paintwork sorted out. Trim the interior. Drive and enjoy! :thumbup1:
