Nice looking Shortie
I reminded myself of that thread yesterday, don't you panic. Look, this is easy. It was your car and you didn't care about protecting the engine from detonation or anything nasty like that. I mean, it's not like Nissan would've invested time and money in designing a different bumper for the TT model unnecessarily, right? The car works fine. I'm sure it does. You sold it, then the next owner sold it, now someone else is selling it... all within the space of roughly 12 months. I'm sure it's a gleaming example of a well cared-for Zed. ;) Me? I honestly don't care enough about the car one way or the other. It was a decent looking motor when you owned it and I simply questioned the reasoning behind completely cutting off the airflow to the SMICs. That's all. It didn't keep me awake at night last year, and it isn't doing that this year either. Would I buy it myself? Nope. Why not? Because it's had at least 3 owners who don't know or care enough about the principles of power and longevity (including one who spanked it round the track a few times) and that makes me think that maybe it just hasn't been all that well looked after....

Moaning? I think not. I simply questioned why the car had an NA bumper fitted and, because of that, how the intercoolers got any airflow. I've then stated that I didn't think it would do the engine many favours. Hardly moaning. :) As to why don't I buy the car myself? Primarily because I have a nicer one already :thumbup1:

Yep, you always hear about Skylines being in lists of Most Beautiful Cars nearly two decades after they ceased production.... Uh huh...

Datsun Fairlady 1967
I'm not even kidding anymore... can we just ban him again please...?! :p

Nice looking Shortie
I spoke to this guy months and months ago, asking why it had an NA bumper on and how the air got to the intercoolers... He replied saying he'd done loads of trackdays in the car and never had a problem!! I don't imagine he's done it any favours at all by doing that.........

"You picked a fine time to leave me, Loose Wheel!" - Mondo's new Zed.
Having spent the morning sorting out a huge oil leak (thank you very much, snapped clamp on the oil cooler hose!), I spent a little bit of time looking at the car and deciding what I want to change in 2017. So, my fibreglass 89 Spec spoiler will be going the journey and be replaced by a Kaminari flushmount one. The more I look at them, the more I like the subtle change they make to the rear of the car. In perhaps a more surprising turn of events, my little unknown chin spoiler will also be removed! As much as I love it, possibly due to the fact that nobody else anywhere appears to have one, it's time for a change so... ... I'll be saying "Hello!" to a Stillen Type III lip instead. Again, I like the difference they make to the look. :) I'm all too aware that I'm staring down the barrel of a bill in excess of £1k (once shipping, taxes, painting and fitting are factored in) so these changes won't be happening immediately by any stretch of the imagination. Hopefully they'll be sorted around mid-2017... or thereabouts... That's the plan anyway!

Easiest way that I know of is to plug it into Consult and read the chip data from there.

Should you really expect anything else from an OEM part though...?

99-spec spoiler to come off!
Why don't you just de-mod your car completely and have a bone-stock Zed?

Off to see Lee...
Wait til Lee bills you for the tea and biscuits... ;) I suppose one way of looking at it is this: once all these issues are sorted out, you'll have a really nice Zed that you know is well sorted. It's a shame that it seems you initially bought a bit of a lemon, but things could be a lot worse than they are. Glass half full, and all that New Age hippie nonsense :thumbup1:

Off to see Lee...
£14k? Pffft... you'll spend more than that in your first year of Zed ownership...

Off to see Lee...
If he says he will, then he will. Knows his apples, that chap :) Even though you've had a less than ideal start to Zed ownership, it is all worth it in the end....

Where can I find a Factory steering wheel
Feast your eyes then.... ;) I dislike trimming these wheels... that long top curve takes ages to do and really takes a toll on my hands! Still, it's a fine looking end result
