get one off wrecker and get Mondo to retrim it

I agree - if Nissan still does supply them, they will be pretty expensive!

Mondo did mine OEM style and it's bloody excellent....

This is exactly like the wheel in mine, no buttons pre 94 with no airbag, also mine has a black badge instead of the one in the pic which has a circular shiney z badge.

I'm wanting to keep the car as it was from factory so don't want to get the wrong wheel as picky as it sounds haha! Cheers, Jake

Richard's post shows what the factory finish would pretty much have looked like when the car was brand new. The leather would have a matt or satin finish to it, in keeping with the plastic used on the centre pad.

As the leather wears, it starts to go all shiny. That's the surface finish being worn away as the wheel passes through your hands day to day.

80s/90s Japanese leather is notoriously poor quality. Even the hide they use in the 350Z and 370Z is pretty ropey stuff and starts to wear pretty swiftly.

I dislike trimming these wheels... that long top curve takes ages to do and really takes a toll on my hands!

Still, it's a fine looking end result
