I really like the Kaminari one as it's in a similar style to the OEM one, but a little bit different. But I can't justify (or afford) to spend upwards of £600 just to get one to my door! And you know that, if one ever does, I'll not have the money to buy it at that point...

I've made a (forced) decision now: seeing as even Mike Feeney can't source me a Kaminari rear spoiler and everywhere else involves ludicrous amounts of shipping, I'm just going to keep the Car.Mad one I've currently got and be done with it. I've just bought a spare dashboard and also been donated a full set of S1 interior panels so I'll be slowly swapping all the plastics over for newly-trimmed ones, once I've actually done the work of course! Pretty boring update, really...

Am i missing something !!
Zed prices are quite a contentious issue nowadays... all sorts of people get bent out of shape about them for no readily apparent reason... The one in question though? Bit of a banger in all honesty! I can see it being for sale for a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time....

What's our NEO up to...?
I've just had a quick look through the National Events subforum and there doesn't seem to be much going on that Paul's involved in...

Greetings Z enthusiasts! collecting my first Fairlady Tomorrow!
When you get it, check that the button in front of the window switches on the driver's side isn't depressed - if it is, that will stop the passenger window from working. Hopefully the fix is that easy for you! :thumbup1:

Wrong thread titles....
The thread in this sections entitled "Emails" that you posted in a little earlier. In fact, according to the top of my tab, this very thread is actually entitled "Emails"... Not the title on the forum page itself - the title on my browser tab.

Wrong thread titles....
For example, I click on the link for "Emails" and the title on the top of my tab (when the page has loaded) is "1990 Twin Turbo" Is something broken....?

Any members near Aston, Sheffield...?
If so (and if it comes down to this), would anyone be willing to collect a steering wheel for me please? It would be from a customer who agreed to an exchange and then didn't send me his old wheel and he's been ignoring my emails since December...!

"You picked a fine time to leave me, Loose Wheel!" - Mondo's new Zed.
Got a small local show tomorrow so I thought I'd better give the old girl a bit of love: And especially for people like Richie, here's what the new front brakes look like now the wheels are back on the floor: The weather forecast suggests it's going to be really nice tomorrow and, as luck might have it, the show is literally round the corner from my workshop so I might have to indulge in a spot of networking :detective: It's nice to see her looking all clean and shiny again, I must say. Now I just need to lay my hands on my Autosol for the exhaust......

What did you do to your zed today?
Lucille got a bit of a scrubbing today, in readiness for a small local show tomorrow: I'll put more pictures in my own thread. She looks rather nice in the sunshine!

Replacing vinyl trim on upper rear quarter panels.
You mean the tyres that you simply didn't have changed in time for me coming down to your neck of the woods, even though you said you would? Those tyres....?

Replacing vinyl trim on upper rear quarter panels.
Like your gaiters, you mean....

Replacing vinyl trim on upper rear quarter panels.
I'll see what options I can find in a very dark grey vinyl (cos the trim in these cars isn't black) and let you know. :)

2-3mm, usually.

Replacing vinyl trim on upper rear quarter panels.
I don't know whether to laugh or be mildly offended that you haven't asked for my input on this.... I had to source some blue vinyl for Jimmer not too long ago as one of his customers had the same issue that you have. I found a very close match, but it isn't perfect. Why not? Because the vinyl is now nigh on 30 years old and the design and composition of these things change over the years, which means a perfect match is going to be pretty much impossible. The original panel has a thin layer of foam between the vinyl and the plastic panel, and it's this that degrades (rather than the glue failing) and causes the trim to lift. So you either need to find some vinyl that has a thin scrim backing, or buy the scrim foam separately.

What did you do to your zed today?
Muggins here has been at work since 6am today so this evening, as a bit of a treat and to celebrate the fact that the new brakes are finally fitted, I whipped the roof off and headed home. :) Nice days like today are when the Zed really makes sense!

Value: standard vs modified
So we think that keeping her as she is now is the best option then? I'll bear that in mind. :) Thanks for the input, peoples :thumbup1:

Welcome. Now get out of my thread and start your own! And don't you encourage them either...

Value: standard vs modified
Ok, here's a question: if I were to sell my Zed, would it be worth more in its present trim, or if I returned it back to standard spec...? By "standard spec," I mean a stock interior, wheels and brakes. The exhaust would be far too much of a chew on to change back, so that would stay on the car. Opinions please...
