  1. Jimmer's worked on my car a few times now and one thing I've noticed is that he just knows things. There's very little guesswork involved with him because he's so familiar with Zeds and their inherent quirks and, if there does happen to be an issue that he can't diagnose straight away, he'll work through every probability until he gets to the bottom of it. No random swapping of parts until the problem's fixed, just a solid thought process to get to the bottom of things. There's a bit of an urban legend involving him diagnosing an issue (and designing and executing a solution) that's stumped even the specialists over in the US - not only is it true, but it's solely down to his decades of certified mechanical training that he managed to get to the bottom of it! You don't have the facilities to take your Zed to him and work on it yourself; that's not how it works. If you take your Zed there, you get a time-served mechanic with a staggering knowledge base working on your pride and joy. And that, surely, is the point of taking your specialised car to a specialist, yes? You might as well take it to a Rent A Ramp place and have access to Google if you want to work on your own car! Simply put, he knows his apples and I'd trust him implicitly with my pride and joy. It's a 5.5 hour journey each way for me to Powerzed and it's the probably the best money I ever spend. Hell, the guy exclusively maintains the two cars that are representing us at the NEC this year (which are arguably the two best and most desirable examples around) and their respective owners are certainly choosy about who does and doesn't work on them. In a community with ever-dwindling numbers, that should really be the only endorsement anyone needs. :thumbup1:
  2. As per title; check your emails please, Groover :thumbup1:
  3. Welcome back, Tom. I have a fair amount of news to pass your way regarding "who's hot and who's not" so to speak!!
  4. As title, I can write a PM out but, when I go to send it, I get a message telling me that I can't send PMs... Any ideas please?
  5. They look exactly like the ones in both Ian Greenfield's and Dutchgold's cars, Si - albeit with an "MPH" legend stuck on.
  6. Does anyone know who the guy with the red Vert is who was at the meet at Cosford please? And how I can get in touch with him....?
  7. I'd say the Z32 ones are bigger, so their bags should comfortably fit the Z31 tops.
  8. I won't be available this year (especially not against Si and Joel!) as I've just got too much work to do. Thoroughly enjoyed last year though - definitely well worth being a part of. :thumbup1:
  9. Just come across the following for both Chrome and Firefox, in order to bypass Photobucket's new image linking nonsense. I can confirm that the Firefox one appears to work :thumbup1: Photobucket fix for Firefox Photobucket fix for Chrome You're welcome :)
  10. Another resounding "Yes!" for Jimmer and Powerzed here. I genuinely cannot fault the guy on anything; his knowledge, his communications, his spannering skills, his transparency - all far in advance of anyone else I've used. It's roughly a 5 hour trip each way for me to Bristol, but it's absolutely worth it every single time. So my opinion, Gray? This is the right choice no matter which way you look at it! :thumbup1:
  11. Does this mean we should all essentially be de-modding ours then...?
  12. Another clean sheet on today's MOT. Rather pleased with that!
  13. I think they really suit a Z32, Jay. Personally, I'd prefer them to all match though...
  14. I believe TheRealStig is selling my old big brake kit. It used stock calipers with brackets, and 345mm discs which may well have come from an Audi.
  15. Best place for your pride and joy! :thumbup1:
  16. It's not quite a perfect fit on the sides where it sits in the swage line so, ideally, it needs clamping on the sides while the Tigerseal goes off. Then the rear corners can be pulled into place and bolted. Sadly, I didn't have access to clamps big enough...
  17. Thanks guys. :) I don't get much time these days to do anything on her or with her really. But that lip was a pain to fit! There are a couple of niggly jobs still to do, so I'll be heading down to the Zed deity that is Jimmer at some point before this year's out and get some more exceptional work done by him. Then it'll be time to make some concrete decisions regarding her future. :thumbup1:
  18. Cheers Gaz. If nothing else, the new lip sitting higher than the old XEVSport one means that I don't have to worry (as much) about scuffing it on kerbs whilst parking!
  19. I'd be surprised. Speak to Mike Feeney and see if he's able to locate one somehow.
  20. Suppose I should update this thread slightly, especially now all the pictures have been ravaged by Photobucket's greed! Not really much to report though; a pair of tinted side repeaters, courtesy of Mr Greenfield and a Stillen Type III lip supplied by the ever-wonderful Mike Feeney. The lip is starting to grow on me now as I honestly wasn't convinced when I fitted it a few weeks ago, but I'm getting more used to it now. :) Lucille is no longer having to play Daily Driver (bankruptcy ahoy!) as I've bought a Golf GT TDi as a runaround. So why, you may ask, has she been brought to the front of the drive and given a decent clean? Local(ish) car show tomorrow so she has to look vaguely presentable! As a bonus (if you like that sort of thing), Mrs Mondo's even in some of the shots!!
  21. There's also been no PROOF of why it had to start in the first place. A lot of hearsay and toys being thrown around, but no actual concrete evidence despite several people asking for it.
  22. It's just a shame it can't get sorted out, then there'd be no more of this nonsense.
