  1. If I keep the car, the rears will (at some point) get upgraded with Evo calipers and 370Z 350mm discs.
  2. Evo lines are a banjo fitting as standard so, whether I get a pair of those or get a pair made up, that'll be the fitting :) NO!!! Never changing my front brakes ever ever again.......
  3. Of course it is. It can be either. For example, the 350Z lines I bought to fit the previous Brembos had a 90 degree "standard" fitting - it's this fitting that's too short for these calipers. So I need to buy a pair of Evo lines or get a custom pair made up. Yeah, it wasn't a huge amount of metal but it still came as a shock that I needed to whip it off!
  4. Bit of a *****cks day, really. Partway through fitting, it turns out that I have to cut a sizeable chunk of metal off the hub - just above the upper mounting lug - so the adaptor brackets will fit. Then it turns out that the fitting on my current brake lines isn't deep enough for the Evo calipers! So whilst I can screw it in, it doesn't seal... so my car is currently on axle stands at work and I need to spend yet more money...!! :( But here's what things look like fitted anyway. If nothing else, the brakes no longer look completely lost within the wheels... What a day.....
  5. All being well, this new brake setup should be on the car by the end of today. :) I've been so busy with work (16 hour shifts every day!) that it's just been impossible, but I'm determined to get the damn things sorted this weekend!
  6. I'm getting mixed up with the brake and clutch pedals as well!
  7. The TT brake pedal is different to the NA one. :thumbup1:
  8. When I did the manual conversion on my old black Zed, I cut the auto brake pedal down. Took less than two minutes to do, the manual rubber fitted perfectly and, as you said, you'd only know because I told you. I can see Chris' point to a degree, but you could then argue that to do the conversion "properly" you should be swapping the complete looms and ECUs, as well as retrofitting all the complicated clutch lines. Sometimes there's no sense in going to that extent when it's unnecessary :)
  9. Happy birthday, chap! :) From the Northern Scumbag....
  10. You can tell from those pictures exactly how disappointing and poor the current paintjob is....
  11. I didn't even know you had bigger brakes on your car, Andy!
  12. I feel like we've been here before... nevertheless, here (at long last!) are my second set of Brembo calipers back from the paintshop: These are from an Evo 8 and, with the help of a pair of adaptor brackets, I'll be able to run a pair of 350mm discs up front. :) The pistons are absolutely fine so I'll be reusing them. All new seals are ready to fit and they now have new stainless bleed valves. I'm honestly hoping that this will be the last upgrade to the front brakes... :innocent:
  13. You need a translucent number plate to go with it, Gaz. When fitted together, the entire plate illuminates instead of it having light shone on it from above. :thumbup1:
  14. Andrew has a PM! It would kill me to sell the car, it really would. Nothing's set in stone at the moment... I won't deny that I could make excellent use of the money that's tied up in her, but I know I'd struggle to find another car (or another Zed) that I know is as clean and solid as this one is. Plus she's a rather nice mobile advertisement for the business. :) Watch this space, I guess....
  15. It seems I have some decisions to make this year, most notably whether to sell or keep her! Moving into the new unit has (obviously) increased my overheads quite considerably and, whilst I'm definitely getting more work done now, it's still eating into any available funds I may have had to put towards the car. I've got a few parts that are still cluttering up Jimmer's workshop that I'm no nearer to being able to afford to have fitted, and I don't expect to have a great deal of free time to actually drive the car this year either. So all the plans are currently on hold, aside from having Jimmer change the aforementioned parts and my pending front brake upgrade, whilst I see what work holds over the next few months and how much money I can pull into the coffers. That more than anything will decide what my next move is. I don't want to sell her by any means, but I think she deserves better than just sitting at the top of the drive getting no attention or love! I realise that this is hardly the weather for driving her anyway but, as I said, I can't see much use for her in the future at the moment - I can't (currently) afford to go to and from work in her as that's a costly deal in itself. I just don't know!! :(
  16. Your idea of "silly" is a very strange one...
  17. You don't half talk (type) some nonsense, Si...!! Especially the bit about deleting the antenna and rear wiper following a relationship breakdown.... I'm going to go ahead and assume that you actually did those things because the antenna dates the car massively and having no rear wiper smooths up the back end considerably. :thumbup1: Having seen your current (for the time being) paintjob numerous times in the flesh, I have to deduce that you are the single fussiest man ever to walk this planet, as I couldn't find anything wrong with it personally!
  18. Aren't most cars fitted with "two tone" horns...?
  19. "Stop your grinning and drop your linen!" RIP.... :(
  20. AndyP repaired mine too and it works perfectly since his deft touch :thumbup1:
  21. ...these are something else! Baggy, ill-fitting and distinctly amateur... Thanks for the eBay link, Jimmer I'd love to know where he had these done and how much he paid!!
  22. Well, I'm going to take at least 50% credit for the design of all these parts as Andy really wasn't sure about how he wanted them - his main stipulation was, and I quote, "what'll look sexiest!" The Alcantara will wear faster than the leather, especially on a high-traffic area like the steering wheel. No matter how many high-end manufacturers use it on wheels and the like, I refuse to believe it's well suited for such an application. That said though, as this is such a low use car, it should stay looking nice for a good few years yet. :thumbup1: And it all certainly looks much nicer than the original colour scheme I did for him a few years ago....
  23. Is that the one I went to look at, by any chance?
  24. Your box of goodies went this morning, mate - they may even turn up tomorrow for you. :)
  25. You'll have to send me one to do! Presumably once you receive this one :)
