  1. Great help guys thank you. It's interesting that the majority of the NVH will come from the 4 subframe bushes. I am more keen to polybush the rest now, leaving the big 4 OEM or Whiteline. I already have stillen ARBs front and back. I also have gone a bit mad with Dynamat Extreme in my car so may get away with some of this. What do people reccomend as Diff bushes. Will they cause harshness. I am wary about getting all the adjustable arms. Zed racer had to spend a fortune getting his aligned after he fit them and I have heard the solid links can wear on the road.
  2. I know this is a polarising mod but I am fitting a NA rear end to my car. A lot of the appeal is the opportunity to hammerite and re bush the back end with it on the floor, not on the car. The gearing thing is a nice extra for me, but the weight saving should be great. I already have the back end, I would like some advice and guidance for the other bits I'll need. I will get my one piece prop modified to fit. I think I will get upper camber arms but keep all the others stock. I don't want to ruin my NVH and shake my teeth out. So which bushes should I go for? I am happy to just loop the PS back to the TT resivoir. New wheel bearings too. Have I missed anything and which bits from where do people reccomend? Cheers guys :)
  3. I don't think so, Jaffa has done it but I think it's a lot of effort to make it work. I left my pcv on too, with new SFS hoses and vlaves. Didn't fancy fitting a catch can and thought a bit of oil on and old engine piston rings may be a good thing.
  4. When I did my tidy up, I bought 6 new injectors and a new loom. The injectors weren't hard once I was that deep, I didn't need to worry about the crunchy loom as I pulled it about. The new one was neater, more flexible, not really hard to wire up either. Just a bit tricky to get through the firewall. Get the plenum off and get a bin ready.
  5. And you're going to spray it white! But it will look awesome. I love the silver Impul demo Zed.
  6. Good call on the Stratos :thumbup1:
  7. Smart couple of cars there Si, very pretty esprit. I just drove past 2 of these, I could perhaps have one of these one day Both mildly tuned up, not big mudflap style, just an inch lower on an inch bigger wheels. My favourite imprezas.
  8. NSX! Definitely but I never will F type Jag Id love another Capri 2.8... ...swapped to a VG30DE, if I put a TT in the car would wring itself out like a flannel!
  9. Have a ride in mine one day, you will want to buy it off me afterwards, it has auto turbos and 400andalot horsepower, 500 and some ft lbs of torque. To be more clear, it was dynoed at 430fwhp 550ftlbs of torque, it has since been modified further, is a lot more powerful and torquey, but was remapped on the road not a dyno. So it's more than 430/550 from about 3000rpm.
  10. If you can hear air leaking it must be a sizeable leak. If I were you. I would get the thing fixed up to stock. Get it as good as new, with service items, belts, pumps. Then get it remapped with an EBC. At that point I would think you would be happy with a 350hp car. From there, get a proper intake setup and get some BDE recircs. You will have a fabulous car. Advantages are that it will be more reliable doing it that way. You won't buy any false economy parts, second hand turbos, Chinese turbos, injectors etc. You get good use out of your nissan turbos and can then drive them to death before spending on big ones. It will be bloody rapid after a service, ebc and remap.
  11. Mine came with AbFlug dumpvalves and it cut out at every other roundabout/set of lights/give way. I have seen cars run alright with them, but they can be damaging due to the way the AFM system works. Mine has stock auto turbos, BDE "Goose honk killer" refurbed stock recircs. It sounds like a group B rally car... Exageration, but it sounds ace. Oh and welcome to the club mate :thumbup1:
  12. Can you elaborate on that last bit stephen, so it's a totally doable DIY job?
  13. Yeah it does seem a nice car, I hope he gets his 4 grand.
  14. I'd be dubious. Not a well presented advertisment, he lists the AR as both 0.64 and 0.60. If things are cheap and on Ebay they are rarely top grade items. I wouldn't buy it.
  15. That is some JDM madness! :)
  16. I sort of agree, I don't pretend to have LMGT4 wheels, I wouldn't stick "Twin Turbo" on an NA. But I think the biggest effect of the Nismo stickers is to break up the white disc, which will be even more prominent after the tidy up. It's for Fung Shwei reasons I promise
  17. Anticlockwise drill bit mate :( tough luck!
  18. Here is a vision of the future. Using these and at some point a refurb And new Nismo stickers :) What do you reckon? Some more inspiration (not the stance)
  19. Im having a wheel over. I am a bit tired and frazzled so can someone please tell me if these will fit. Sorry to not google it myself I am just being totally number blind today. http://www.rotashop.co.uk/neo-chrome--petrol-gt50-extended-wheel-nuts-set-of-20_p22455528.htm Thank you guys. P.s. I have to satisfy a neochrome itch and this seems a good way tk do it.
  20. I don't really like that back bumper, but I haven't seen one anywhere else and it is a really nicely fitted part that goes with the spoiler. Could you incorporate the fogs into the lights, fill the holes they leave. Smoke the orange in your 89 lights and get a minimalist yellow and black numberplate? That would sharpen it up.
  21. The brakes, well, they are ruined, so they are warped and worn. But I get the feeling they won't be that good in full working order. They feel very very servo assisted. The booster in the engine bay is enormous and the deep pedal I think would be there on good brakes. Am I right Stu? What are his options for replacements? We could have a poke about in the back of the clocks but they appear to have been converted fairly accurately. Not to say it has been done correctly.
  22. I have driven it, about 30 miles, at midnight on a Sunday, in the wilds of the north east. It's quite a nice car. Initially it gives off a lot of positive vibes as everything you touch in the first minute has a feeling of quality. Deep clunks from the locks, a secure door shut by your side, a slight but solid wheel to wrap your hands around and a reassuring solid engagement into first. At this point I will say, It is ****ing loud! It pulls away easilly with no desire to stall and drives like a normal car. Once fueled and warmed I started to do the car equivalent of warm up lunges, testing the waters around 40mph in third massaging heat into the brakes and engine, listening to the turbo shrieking, a sound like a passing train with a stuck brake, miniaturised and doing laps of the glove box. It had a slight hesitancy on/off throttle and a rather indecisive yet eager response to boost, I feel there was some room for better mapping as it starts to go, slacks off a bit, then hits the low boost limit of 9psi but then pushes very smoothly round to the red line, by which time it sounds like a dentist drill, both in tone and in the way the sound seems to be inside your head. So how fast is it? Quite fast, about 260bhp by my backside. It has nothing like the response of a zed, gutless would be too harsh, more like a top end rush than a bottomless bottom. It also feels ver long geared, I was looking well down the road but it seemed to do at least 60 in second and I short shifted. A fairly high rev limit and a lack of torque make the gears feel even longer. It handles quite well, but has a very intrusive feeling HICAS, I think because it is the electronic HICAS system, it seems to be rear steering all the time, rather than the more subtle way a zed does. This made the GTST very nimble but a little numb around the centre of the steering, it is very low at the rear and some feel may be regained with some suspension adjustments. The one time I started to squirt myself round a bend the wheel guided itself through my relaxed hands and is probably a real hoot once you get your eye in, but the lack of torque and 'ridonkulous' exhaust stopped me having a look more than once. In other news: The brakes are rubbish, a deep pedal and a rumbly nose. The gearbox is very very good. And it used to be an auto. A remap, some suspension changes and some brakes and it'll be a hoot :)
  23. Cheers Stu :thumbup1: hopefully I can get it on a laptop tonight or tomorrow. I expect it has perhaps been chipped at least. Who in their right mind would change all that and just run the car!
