  1. Happy Birthday Nick :happybday::thumbup1:
  2. Go for it mate, this Sunday be Z32 Bolt again :) :thumbup1:
  3. I've already done it! I will just do a write up for it and post the photos. All of those mods were on the car before the track day. The diff swap has been great
  4. Hello Funky Si, your car looks even cleaner than it was. Which is saying something. Simon  I have noticed some absences if thats what you meant. I should read the banned member thread  catch up on the gossip. Did you see my "Mondo & Tom" creations interior in that video :) The steering wheel may need a bit of pva after some intense track action, but she is still looking great. I should pop in for a brew and a glue
  5. Thanks Andrew, Stepen and Gray :) Joely, believe it or not, the stuff near the beginning of that video shows the worst driving I did all day. The 2 big sideways moments (which were scrappy) and the near over-correction on the left hander. I never went off or spun or blew up. I also did plenty of corners without sliding about, but who wan't to see that?! (fast drivers I suppose ) I just had a great day with my car, it gave me a bit more confidence that I can control a powerful car, as I'd had a bit of time without driving it, and it was a good chance to re calibrate my coilovers. Coming soon on my threads, NA Diff swap "Because it's only 4 bolts..." :hang: The Glovebox of fine craftsmanship and hot glue :ninja: Fuel pressure, fun, tears and eye ointment :bored:
  6. Stick with it mate, then next time you get out of it smiling like a teenager, feeling about as naughty and listening to your zed tick cool as you walk back inside, take a picture and put it in the glovebox... or better still, your toolbox!
  7. Great to be back Garry  I'm getting my life back a bit, rather than running round like a zedless/headless chicken! The track day was double awesome. The car was a star! One of the very few cars to drive there then home again, purring like a kitten (tiger kitten) and it did very well against far newer vehicles. And there is no ESP on a zed  Don't I know it! There is some work to post and more to come very soon :)
  8. What a posting though! It's a small air force, we will have 2 zeds somewhere, some day. If you get a picture of a zed in front of an F-35! That would be one to print out!
  9. Onboard footage of Angelsey circuit last month
  10. Hello Nickz, I'll put it up then :) Tony, guitar is shuffling along thanks. music club was taken over by Air Traffic after you left, was never as good unfortunately. How is Marham, did you make your music bar :)
  11. Hello Tony  yeah, at Shawbury now becoming an instructor! They must have read the application form and thought it was a different Tom Wilson! Haha. I'm going back there though, to work at SARTU. The problem with my car was all fuel pressure based in the end! (To finish a discussion we had in the bar 9 months ago!)
  12. It'll be there for you when you get chance :) what are you studying?
  13. Hello Alic, how's the impul build going :)
  14. Hello the Forum, I'm back. Sorry I've been away for a while... year or two. But I've missed chatting with you guys and I really want to be an active member again. I have loads to tell you about. I'm not a newbie, but I remember the rules... PICTURES!!! Good to be back guys
  15. I really like this club too, I have been trying to get back to checking it habitually/compulsively haha. I had about 5 months off zedding over winter but I'm getting back at it. This club is great inspiration, there is always a build to aspire towards, owners to help you out and answers given repeatedly to your daft questions. At some point I'll start contributing more again but first I need to get my zed going. Keep it up guys, and I second the praise for the mod team :thumbup1:
  16. I'm in Bishop Auckland this weeked trying to fix my own misfire. Ihave been away a lot recently but I'm trying to spend more time up north this year. If I ever can help I am more than happy to mate.
  17. Hi mate, welcome to the club. You could put yourself up a tree on drive one if you boot it about like a crackpot, but they are by no means an unstable car. I got mine with some very poor tyres and badly set up very hard coilovers. It handled like a shopping trolley on cobbles. But some alright tyres and some work with the coilovers and you can drive it like any other car in the wet. A bit slower and safely. I reckon you could get 3 people in the car easilly, my drivers seat goes a bit far back for a 4th person behind me, but 3 is fine and 4 is alright on a short journey. It is handy for carrying stuff. With running costs etc. I would urge you to be brave and get stuck in with the spanners. Unless you use a specialist garage like zedworld, lee dent, powerzed and automodz who know zeds you may have problems getting work done. I have had loads of bother with mine, but never anything bad. Little air leaks, electrical connections. I have used specialist garages a few times, but if I had used a garage for every lumpy idle I would be skint. It is great to do these things yourself or with friends/family, makes the car so much more rewarding when it's working well and out to play.
  18. I need to do a boost test on my car. I am a massive fool because I either lost or threw out my old T piece... which I now need. Could anybody please sell me one. To be clear, I need the OEM T pipe that goes behind the MAF, I don't have one because I have a split intake. Thank you, Tom.
  19. Just remember, it's cheaper to do things properly once than to fit dubious, old, or Chinese parts, repeatedly.
  20. Mine came directly from competition clutch. It replaced an xtd that slipped and never once worked. I am sure phutumsh's works but mine never did. Competition clutch I am sure would guarantee their product. With the 6 puck thing, it was bloody awful and grabby for about 200 miles but then settled and has been fine for about 15'000 miles. I mean that, my girlfriend can drive the car and ahe isn't a car person really.
  21. Jeff has done a grand job for you there mate. You're going to have the plenum off for a lot of that, a good way to learn a lot about your car and engine. Probably worth finding some threads about plenum pulls. I did one and can try to find you some information but many others have too. There are a load of things you can consider simplifying/removing and replacing as you do it. Some of those bits will be a few quid though unfortunately, windscreen may be a few hundred, I believe there is a bmw one that will fit. Jeff will know. Injectorsx6 will be a few quid. But you have loads of time to do all this.
  22. Competition clutch 6 puck. They're not that bad at all. Don't buy an xtd one.
  23. Hello, do not buy cheap brakes. I bought some MTEC discs off ebay and melted them in a couple of drives. I now run K sports but get some decent discs and pads. Ebc or something with a proper brand. They don't have to be a fortune but a quality item. With regard to pads, my ksports have blackstuffs and they're fine. I remember liking yellowstuff pads in the past. I may be wrong, but the way I think if it is: Discs = how many times you can brake hard before they fade. Pads = what your brakes feel like. That is over simplified but thats what I believe to be true. Tyres. You don't need ferrari tyres on your zed. Mine came with Wanli 905s. Read the reviews for a giggle, I nearly died... a lot, like wheelspin in 5th and snap oversteer. So, I learned about shit tyres from that. I have also had some really soft tyres before, and they're a good giggle but the gripper your tyres are the quicker they will wear (generally). My last set were kuhmos, they were no more than £100 each (265/35/18) amd totally fine. I don't like too much grip, those tyres were perfectly safe, unlike the wanlis, they were predictable and grippy enough, didn't pull on lines too much. Good tyres. The bloke said they were for quick ish bmws. I now use hanooks, same bloke as last time (every time) I said, one step stickier please, because I am about 50 torques better off now and needed it. In short. Don't buy shit brakes. Don't buy ferrari tyres. Drive safe :)
  24. That was a long 3 months, I know it wasn't a proper det it was a quick jolly down to the Falkland Islands, but it was long enough and my second Christmas in a row. I am glad to be back and I have missed habitually checking this forum. I hope everyone is alright, I hope the winter hasn't claimed any more of our zeds. This community is small enough already. I will tell you some Sea King stories some time and there is plenty to update you with on my zed. This year it will take another step towards the car in my head I have been working to realise. Anyway, I look forward to catching up with you guys, it's good to be home :)
