  1. Cant find the link to fitting a hicas eliminator kit that i only read last week:confused1: Paul
  2. Locking the doors from the passenger side will give you your answer, if drivers door locks theres an actuator if it doesnt there isnt The picture youve posted is the CDL control unit
  3. The Z only has a switch in the drivers door which controls the motor in the passenger door. If there was a motor on the drivers side aswell you would be able to lock the drivers door from the passenger side. Ive been fitting alarms for a living for 15 years and havnt come across a Z yet with multipoint locking although some of the very late UK spec models could have it. NONE of the jap specs have a drivers motor as standard. You have to fit an aftermarket 2 wire actuator motor to mimic the action of the key switch in drivers door Paul
  4. Does the car lock all doors from the passenger side? if not then you have to fit an actuator motor in drivers door that pushes and pulls the cars own mechanism thats controlled by the door switch in drivers door Paul
  5. If the solenoids in there it needs to be wired up for REVERSE POLARITY thats why just putting +12v does nothing. It needs to get pos and neg at the same time Paul
  6. Theres no motor in the door in a Z, you have to put an actuator in the door to trigger the factory CDL Paul
  7. Ive had my 1989 TT import for 11 years and apart from the normal service stuff and a couple of corroded water pipes nothing has ever gone wrong with it Paul
  8. :confused1: mine went on with no trouble at all
  9. I got a set of these just before i drove the car to spain, they were warped and knackerd before i got back, lasted 2000 miles
  10. Delivery was £45ish but still only made them £107 all in. USPS was the courier there from http://www.cxracing.com They do a stainless kit --- KIT002-SET Paul
  11. Just fitted these from the USA, great quality and fit and only took 3 days to arrive http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120662739649&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT
  12. Interior lights come from a relay behind the passenger rear side panel, ive seen incorrect connecting of alarm to the wrong wire cause wierd problems as alarm can only be connected at this relay As for lights, he might have had hid's fitted and wanted to keep dipped beam on with main or light control pod is broken Paul
  13. 18 years!! if you just manage to trace the immob wires and join them back up the alarm itself might still work Paul
  14. simple version Find alarm ecu follow wiring loom cut off wires rejoin immobiliser cuts in cars harness, will be 2 (possibly 3) depending on fitter and age of alarm, rejoin colours like for like Paul
  15. Im with chaucer through performance direct. fully comp £155 with 5000 miles limit. im 42 Paul
  16. Thats what i was gonna say just warm locks up normally does a treat
  17. Im going to manchester on saturday so would be more than happy to call by and give you some free advice, its too complicated to put in words but quite an easy process to do Paul.
  18. The siren will only go off when wires are cut if the alarm is ARMED when you cut them
  19. I would say you are right after looking at the diagram, Paul
  20. Looks ok but will need to change to MDF or Marine Ply asap, would cover with soundmat aswell, especially panel behind as the 6x9 shift quite a bit of air Paul
