after returning from my epic 3000 mile trek to spain with relatively no problems i drove the car onto ferry, all ok. When i started car to drive off ferry and into slow moving traffic there was loads of blue smoke out of left side exhaust that had a burnt smell, once car had got on the motorway it seemed ok break it to me gently please Paul.

My idle tickover on my jam import 1990 TT AUTO is low and lumpy, approx 650to 750 rpm, can it be adjusted? Paul.

Well have now made the long long long long endless never ending trip to spain and have managed to get 300 miles per tank at 80 to 85mph. Not sure if its good or bad yet as too tired to think:crying:

How secure are these cars?
Fit a DISKLOK on the steering wheel and when you get enough cash get a SIGMA S30 cat 1 alarm which has a keyguard system so still cant be started even if someone nicks your keys £70 for disklok £250 for alarm supply and fit

Have just been down to kwikfit to see if they could regass my R12 system and was told no as its a £1200 conversion that has to be done so now im well baffled:wacko: Paul.

Fluctuating boost
When i put my foot down im not getting a smooth power delivery , the exhaust tone and the boost gauge fluctuate up and down every second or so + 0r - 1,5psi, could it be my profec B not set up correctly?

This is true, and any alarm that is still using voltage drop will be ancient technology anyway and will constantly going off on a Z as they have quite a high current draw when sitting

Security features
It propably wont be stock and would not be immobilising ECU, it will be starter and fuel pump live if anything as most immobilisers are dual circuit. Although some very old immobilisers did have a third cut

Mine will only sit for 7 to 10 days without starting before going flat even though it only pulls .4 amp with ign off which is well within tolerences

Sigma alarm/imobiliser
sigma immobiliser only pulls about 200 milli amps when active so would take months to drain a fully charged battery Paul.

yes you can as it has a microwave sensor rather than ultrasonics Paul

alarm immobaliser problems
Its more than likely a sticking actuator motor in the drivers door thats controlled by the alarm system, it might just want adjusted but you will have to take drivers door panel off to have a look at it

Check the earths, you might have a bad earth so it could be pulling the current from the wrong place Paul.

I use broker PERFORMANCE DIRECT and am insured with CHAUCER CLASSIC. Mine is a jap import 1989 TT Ive got 1 years NCB and am 41 My premium is £125 fully comp with max 7000 miles Paul

Door lock mechanism
The motor has a bar rod attached to it that is clamped to the existing door lock/unlock rod and pushes and pulls when alarm is operated. Take door panel off and check its not too tight or caught on something Paul.
