Well i had a weird problem when i put the engine back last time in the red car... It seemed like the master cylinder was not pushing enough volume thru. We bled it from all the points we thought would help and nothing would work. Then I pysically pushed the slave cylinder in, my Dad then put he foot on the clutch, nothing, and second pump.... success!! we had a clutch! No idea what the problem was but it's been absolutely fine for months! HTH

have you tried pumping the clutch to try seeing if the gears engage better?

I think so, badger1, the previous owner of my black Z took off the airbag wheel and put on a S1 wheel.....

Comparing them side by side you can see the gearing looks significantly different to each other. Mystery solved :duffer:
