viniboy, welcome to the forum, and i expect you were being a bit naive in quoting stuff that you've only been told . Some guys on here are (and i don't know any of them personally by the way) extremely Knowledgeble about what the 300zx can and cant do and i guess it's a little bit annoying to have a relatively new member claiming their Z can do over 205 mph. bad start to your membership, but stick in there, these guys are sound.

If ferrari's got a prancing horse , what animal/creature would have made it onto the Z emblem? My first choice would be a puma, but i think someones got that already.

I saw one in 1992 in a carpark while on holiday in Kerry with my then girlfreind. Almost fell over when i saw it, i was around 20 at the time. I sat across from it and looked at it for 30 minutes, I hadn't a clue what engine or performance it had but it was................truly breathtaking. It was around 60,000 Irish pounds to buy then so it was a total dream car I never forgot. I never saw another one till 2000..which became mine!! I'm lucky that this was my dream car, which i could realise some years later. Boys dream of owning lambourginis and ferrari's, but they'll never sit in them, never mind own one.

put new EBS discs, new kevlar pads on the front about a month ago, and they're squeaking as i come to a stop. I fit them myself and pretty sure i've done a proper job. What's wrong?

so bloody embarrassing, recently had a row with a taxidriver , i just wanted to pull into the the MASSIVE EMPTY TAXIRANK for 30 seconds to pick up a pizza which was ready and paid for. He kept beeping at me and shaking his fist, so i just parked anyway just to annoy him. When I came out , i gave him the two fingers, floored it , and hit a low set roundabout in the middle of the carpark........BANG... followed by crrrgggggjhhh.........followed by bang bang, .............didn't do any damage, but the smokers outside the pub nearby gave me quite a large cheer.............

FECK OFF PLEASE ....supra stats , speed debates and all the rest, how many of us will meet a different supra at the lights every couple of weeks to test these theory's...............ANSWER: NEVER...........it just doesn't matter, lets enjoy our cars, we spend enough hard earned cash and time on them

[instead of going heavy all of a sudden after so many miles or so many mins of driving, it changes stiffness every so many degrees of turning of the wheel. For example; Doing one full turn of the steering wheel the steering will turn slightly and then go heavy, keep turning and a few degrees later it will go back light, few more degrees and its heavy, so on and so forth. In one full turn it will go from light to heavy 4-5 times. Mine's doing the very same thing at the moment so interested to hear how you get on. Also, i've had the universal joint go in previous z's and they throw up the same symptoms when they get worn, so it's worth a look.

The fast and the freindliness

Exactly. the 300zx z32 set the stage for cars which were all in production at the time, hence the over the top styling of the supra and gto which came out shortly after, both trying to outdo the other. On, speed,........who cares? what's a 0.1 second difference? even if it were more it's clear the 300zx will stand the test of time, moreso than these ........i dunno................just in yer face silly looking motors.

It is for most, but some people just see them as a way for cheap speed, and have no passion for them whatsoever.

O.K., this is probably another one of those late night threads when you're a bit pissed but here goes. Whenever you park you're z do you look back at it? I dont think in all the years of owning one i havn't done this. But I do see people parking vehicles worth a lot more just get out of their car and walk away as if it suddenly didn't matter to them , it was just a means of transport. As we all know, when the Z is parked amongst other common type road cars, it just stands out a mile. I always look back with a little smile to myself and think how much pleasure i get out of it, Don't care if people see me doing this cos most likely they're looking themselves :D When someone says, "jesus, ya think ya look great in that big flash car , don't ya!! :mac1: It's not about that, but looking at it ourselves after we step out of it (although there's sure to be a few poseurs out there ;) :rofl: ) Anyway i'm very proud of my Z :)

yep, i wasn't going to mention that yet again!!... but it's true 1200 euro for anything 3 ltr. or over. My Mrs. drives a fiat sicento which is about 800cc and that's 300Euro..................I Know!

Hi, Been getting power steering problems lately and praying it's not the pump :confused: It's generally being inconsistent, But just noticed it's worse the warmer the engine. Fluid level seems fine as I know these are prone to leaks. Also i've had the universal joint go on previous Z's which just feels completely different. This time it's going stiff/smooth on a turning circle. Sometimes it's fine. Is there anything else i can check?

on average for me it's 58 Euro, which is roughly £40 . Not too bad i guess.

HI just got my windows tinted . But now i'm thinking of ripping it off even though it cost me 200 euro. Its red (please don't make this a colour issue :rolleyes: ), and i thought the red/(almost black) thing would complement the car................but i'm not too sure. Havn't had time for pics yet, but i've done the rear , and all the side window's. What's worrying me is that driving through town today i was getting thumbs up from schoolkids!!!! i'm thinking they're used to the boy racer image and not actually doing it cos it's a Z :xxx: Maybe if i just removed it from the two front window's??
