  1. Well , think I've had enough after the first link ! Yes , cured my depression, and think i've wet my underpants. :o Because we slag it off a bit here it's only fair they do the same :p I looked at a long thread about gto versus 300zx , and never seen so much absolute shite! All talking about how the 300 blows an engine trying to keep up!................The 'drab' interior of the 300zx, handling is crap, no way near as powerful.....and..........get this.............we don't have 4 wheel drive.............................oooooooooooooohhh, damn :headvswal ................oh, and we all drive a hairdressers car by the way  Sure all you guys have read this before, but an eye opener for me! there was one Z enthusiast however defending us and on the 'hairdressers' quote he replied 'but isn't the GTO just a big Mr2?'..........classic.
  2. Cheers fella!
  3. anyone got the address for the gto site? Mrs. is watching big brother and I feel like a bit of comedy might cheer me up :D And just too lazy too search cheers
  4. No.1 Honda NSX No.2 Corvette No.3 Renault Alpine or a Renault Fuego GTX (that one purely for nostalgic reasons) :D
  5. Everyone to their own, but  It's ugly, plain ugly...........and probably made from lego and dried pasta. I'd rather a 1970's fiat 127 sport. Fiat used steel in those days.
  6. Air flow meter dodgy connection? Might be worth a try
  7. Hi and welcome! Keep a good eye on this forum in the for sale section, I've seen some very nice Zeds come up for sale recently. And you'll have the advantage of decent and honest history of the cars.
  8. I don't agree with ripping people off, but if someone is so thick to offer 6000 with no knowledge of the car , take it and run :p Think he deserves it. He'll live and learn like the rest of us , but he will be a happy man. All of you remember that feeling the day you bought your first Z?
  9. You did the right thing Steve. It looked like a genuine clean car and if he hadn't lied about it he might have got the sale. Just goes to show honesty pays. That zed might need 4-500 quid spent on it, no major problems and would have been a good buy for 3.5k
  10. Hi had this a while back myself, an ECU diagnostic was showing everything was OK so to be sure I unplugged the AFM with the engine running. Engine ran perfectly smooth the minute I unplugged it, although in safety mode. I managed to pick up a second hand one pretty cheap, They're seriously expensive new.
  11. yep, even Jeremy Clarkson refers to it as "the horny nissan 300zx" in his book "motorworld". He'd never admit to saying that now of course, but it's there, in black and white  He gave the 350z a bit of a hammering in today's Sunday times though
  12. beautiful and unusual Z. Glad you got rid of that big ugly spoiler! What kind of 0-60 time we talkin?

Hi lev, It's a bit of a catch 22 when deciding on a standard or modified Zx. If you're lucky to find a well looked after and serviced original then go for it. Many of the modified ones are not just done out of "bling" , they've also had parts like air filters, ignition units and so on upgraded to make the car a better standard overall. I'd advise stick on here a couple of weeks before you're purchase, learn as much as you can, and ask as many questions as you like! And good luck.
  14. I design and manufacture stained glass/mirrors . Family business. Spend half my time working, other half rowing with family members!........
  15. Well if there was a gun to my head (which would be the only way)...pull the trigger pal
  16. Often wondered if anyone here had bought one brand new and still had it. Poll shows no-one 10 years plus. Very unlikely i know, but if there is, I reckon we should all chip In and buy him/her a pressie!
  17. 5. blakes 7 4. space1999 3. to the manor born 2. Minder 1.............................The good life...Felicity Kendall...mmmmmmmmm
  18. 5 years, 3 Z's lot's of repair bills, but I couldn't give a toss! I'm now 35 and married with two great kids, and get the odd look of distain from neighbours and freinds because they buy the most sensible motors on the market , and make sure they trade it in every year for a new model :hurl: ...............Took me a lot of guts five years ago to follow a passion i'd had for a long time. Now I'm stuck with the 300zx for life, I have no doubt...........Or it's stuck with me, one or the other
  19. Let my Mrs loose on 'em, she is the best disciplinarian I've ever met. It's so true, these kids are frightened of nothing. The world and decent folk like you and me mean nothing to them. The future scares me sometimes. 99% parenting, 1% psychological disorder is to blame.
  20. ok, no-ones going to reply to this because no-ne watches eurovision :o , BUT........... I Have never seen so many beautiful women in all my life. On another point, It's a farce , you guys should have come in the top 3
  21. I've got the stillen k&n , which I'm perfectly happy with. I'm not an expert on such matters, but it does make a lovely whoooshing sound, and performance is noticable
  22. Jeff tt and son, decent chaps......... I second that.
  23. have none of you guys ever found yourself on a quiet stretch of motorway at night , and wanted to test you're Z? chill.
  24. Hi and welcome, As a red owner, i'm really starting to warm to white Z's, they do have a certain presence. Think the hairdressing image is wearing off fast!!! Seriously, nice motor fella!
  25. In 6 years I have yet to leave my car to nissan for any reason. It's basically been forgotten about. On the rare occasion i would phone them to price a part (when i'm in the mood for a good chuckle!), I'm always greeted with "A what?, a nissan 300sx? , never heard of it, let me check my computer " :slap: Mac 1 is right, there were a few nissan mechanics in the nineties trained to service them, but most of them i would imagine, have changed jobs and are EXTREMELY hard to find. Lucky for you , you've got a number of specialists in the UK that can sort you out. I tend to rely on this website for info, (I would now be lost without) then pass it on to a mechanic who can take offence at being told by a complete machanical idiot like me, where the problem probably lies. Good luck , hope you get something back from Nissan
