  1. Nice car splatt, Ive always had a thing about volvos, they've just got presence and character or something..specially the older ones. I had a V40 few years ago in between my z's . I bought to give the wife and kids more room. the kids demanded i get my Z back immediately , but the wife loved it...........needless to say i followed the kids advice!!!!!

i average around 18mpg, thats an auto, im sure manuals are the same. I rember really wanting a probe when they came out, even though i dont like fords, and now its still not a bad looking motor. but i find they now look a bit dated and look quirky from certain angles, whereas the Z looks perfect from every angle, and if you intend to keep it for a while then the z, Its still got a long way to go before it will look outdated. best of luck whichever you choose!
  3. thanks guys, just as well i asked, ill check that relay out tomorrow.
  4. cheers jaffa, doing search now.
  5. good to put some faces to the names...................................think i preferred the mystery
  6. well done. if theres one thing i cant stand on the road its people who shout abuse at other drivers usually to impress their passengers. i see people do it every day to other people, when theres just no need. im not just talking little boy racers, its everyone, women , businessmen ,tradesmen. ive thought about doing what you did so many times, even though its nothing to do with me. Im a big guy myself but pretty soft! next time im doing it , full stop :wack:
  7. Hi ive got my stereo system now fitted and complete, however the control wire for the antenna doesnt work , because of a bad wiring job sometime in the cars history. I removed plastic panel where the antenna motor sits , and connected the live from my amp to it for a few seconds just to raise it. there are two wires coming directly from the motor and i im thinking if i run a live from the battery and another from the antenna control wire on the back of the head unit to the other cable , it should operate normally?
  8. or even 80 euro-ish! dont tempt me :D and heres out with the old and in with the new. just wondered do i now need to get yellow bulbs , from a legal point of view?
  9. if its just performance your after then possibly a skyline or an evo is what you need. :x: but if your looking for looks/performance 50/50 both cars are pretty handsome looking motors but the Z wins hands down because of its heritage, similar performance from what ive learned here, and basically its driver satisfaction. also its looks will outdate the gto. from every angle the 300zx is perfect i must admit ive never looked up the gto site, but they cant possibly be as happy and helpful as the guys here :D
  10. WD40 is the business!!!!!!!!!

try removing the connector plug from the airflow meter while the engine's running. i did this and the engine all of a sudden ran perfectly smooth, although wouldnt go past 2500 revs, it summed up it was most definitely the problem.

well if he was gonna explain, you guys certainly scared the shite out of him :wack:
  13. thanks friday and you do have a superb looking z. especially the rear lights.
  14. I just knew you guys would be a wealth of information! cheers... i think im just old fashioned . everyone tells me i live in the past. i completely understand those of you who have spent a fortune (not to mention the time involved) not wanting a stock 300 new or not. you're justifiably proud of what you've created. but the thing is ive never debadged any of my z's because im extremely proud of what it is. A now becoming rare supercar of the nineties which hardly anyone could afford at the end of its production, making way for more affordable cars like the mazda mx5 etc. ok, the one ive got now had a couple of mods when i bought it, i still would never try and make it look like something its not. I was 20 years old when i first saw one and never forgot it. when ibought my first one 5 or six years ago i drove home from dublin with a grin that so wide it almost knocked the mrs out of the seat! Hers to all z owners, mods or purists!!!!.... :duffer:

hope that works for you bud, please let me know if works and ill try it on my old one as an experiment..and yes they're crazy money new , robbin' nissan b*st*rds
  16. ive had two na's before the tt i bought before christmas. at the moment im still spending money getting it back to 100%. Not the engine or gearbox mind, they're in superb condition, just underneath things like shocks, wishbone and steering stuff . The NA's brought me small niggly problems., although on the last one i had to have a complete rebuild on the auto box. overall it really depends on experience on which one to buy, and which gives you the most fun. if my head ruled over my heart i,d have the na back again, but the buzz you get out of kicking those turbo's in even at 90-100mph is just great craic!!! the tt's are usually the ones that have had most hardship and abuse, thats why they've got a bad name. ....So to sum up i,d advise na first to get around the understanding of the car, learn as much as you can on here, then if you feel like upping the ante, get yourself a good tt

yep, air flow meter, had very same problem last week , i drove 160 mile trip on sat to a breaker who said he had one ,but wasnt sure if it would still work. got there, swapped them around and ran perfectly smooth. hope you find a used one , if not jeff at zworld has a way of repairing them but mine was too badly damaged for this
  18. only thing slows my z down is my right foot ;) and watch it buddy or ill send you a black zx facia panel instead of the red one
  19. hi almost sure they're the same advans on mine, if so its the first time ive seen them anywhere else. And your right most people dont like tri-spoke but ive warmed to these and decided to keep them
  20. they probably did buddy, but theres something about an untouched completely original z that excites me!! almost virginal......... hang on ..is this true? i really thought 1996 was it

  24. Hypothetically (jeez that spelt right?) speaking ............................ if nissan announced tomorrow that the very last z32 to come off the produduction line in 1996 which they've been storing in an airtight room for the past 9 years was to come up for auction how far would you go?!! :hyper: Imagine, the plastic still on the seats, owners manual and warranty wrapped up in the glove box, 000000 miles, the two original keys, no dodgy history  considering they were about £40,000 when they stopped making them ,..............anyone who says they havnt had this dream is lying  for me i would be looking quite closely at the mrs' life insurance policy
  25. sent pics but email told me "failure sending message" no worries ill send e few tomorrow. By the way where did u get your interior done?...deadly
