  1. yes he is away on hol till mid august had that convo with him a couple of weeks back
  2. wouldn't an oil cooler be in the tank on the right though are they physically pipes or a raised thick washer type bit with threaded insert? if it's the 2nd thats for your cowl to fix to
  3. yes sure is bud need to start getting to some meets now the zed is running ok
  4. brilliant thanks dan was a little concerned with pressure as one of the pipes under the plenum failed on the weekend so had to do a water bypass (still got drivers side to do) i have however fitted the 1.1kg/cm2 rad cap on for now till i get to do the other side so hopefully i wont pop anymore pipes (so far so good lol)
  5. bugger i'm working all day sat
  6. totally never realised but when i did water bypass today i noticed the new rad cap i had supplied with my new hiflow radiator was a 1.3kg/cm2 which is making wonder if that higher pressure caused my water leak so i have now put on a stock cap 1.1kg/cm2 but as this was off my old rad i need a new one but all i can find is 13psi caps are these the right pressure?
  7. the problem i had was the metal clip on the hose is set so the tags you squeeze to undo it are facing the bulk head i did think about removing the pipe from the the pipe that goes under the plenum and try to twist it round but as the rain was starting i decided to just get the passenger side fitted and do the drivers later on. only thing i did find is the water tube coming from the turbo had been cut shorter but managed to get hose on and sealed so hopefully that will be fine
  8. trying to do a water bypass with the plenum on got the passengers side done but gave up on the drivers side when i could not even get to the metal pipe clip at the back of the plenum so i've done a half bypass lol also got round to starting to fit the new silicone vac hoses and finished fitting the replica spoiler just needs a little more tidying round that and i managed to take paint off in one place trying to remove excess glue doh still need to fettle my top rad hose slightly as well but thats for another day when it's dry
  9. i've seen that also but trying to get job done today as i have time to do it but looking around on net apparently you can use fuel hose for coolant but not coolant hose for fuel
  10. always check the water by removing the rad cap not on the stick
  11. hi all i need to do a water bypass on the zed but after contacting local parts people i can only get hold of 10bar pressure rated fuel hose which a mechanic of many years standing says should be fine to carry coolant is this correct?
  12. cheers rich turbo's were replaced around 7000 miles ago so hopefully not them, its not a constant smoke just if left on idle for 10 mins or so does get quite thick but after blipping the throttle slightly it clears up but as i said above it does look very oily around pcv's
  13. just found water leak on either the turbo pipe or it's above on the plenum looks like i'm doing a water bypass tomorrow then
  14. well ust took the zed oput for a run today now i have got the radiator done and it's not lost any coolant in last few days, on getting back just now though i noticed steam rising from under the bonnet on inspection it looks to be coming from roughly centre (injectorish area ) on the plenum on the passenger side turbo water pipe maybe? i noticed there was no pressure in rad and a very small puddle of water but rad seems full at mo is this a plenum off job to fix? also if i leave car on tickover for 10 mins or so i'm getting blueish smoke out of the drivers side exhaust give the throttle a blip and it clears could this be pcv valves? i noticed the passenger side valve is surrounded by quite a oily mess
  15. i never used cable ties around the hoses but around the original bracket good tip though
  16. well did mean to but did not know it would work till i got it on there will try and get some of it fitted but not in this rain though
  17. cheers guys i did manage to solve this one today i took the original bracket and drilled a extra hole in the one upright piece, passed 2 cableties throgh the fins in the rad then through the 2 holes in the bracket, 2nd cabele tie just passed under bracket to support it works a treat, and maintains original bracket also
  18. On Portland st in Cheltenham tonight black g reg with high level rear spoiler
  19. could just be me worrying but my concern is if that hose is moving it could either split or touch moving engine components prob not to bad with hardpipe kit but moves around a bit with standard silicone hose
  20. hi all just fitted new hi flow rad on the zed, now heres my question the original clip (on left of rad) that the bottom hose clips into does not fit the bigger core rad so as i'm using silicone hoses not a hard pipe kit i'm left with the bottom hose blowing in the wind what is the best way to secure it?
  21. :hurl::hurl::hurl::hurl::hurl::hurl: wait till si sees it
  22. normally a perspex panel across the back and holes welded and filled you could always fit a replica stock spoiler from z centre that would cover everything thats the plan on mine when i get to remove the stock one
  23. problem is nissan will only sell these as part of a complete lock barrel
  24. you can spray stonechip smooth if you dont want the bubble effect but to be honest i prefer it
