  1. Do update the thread if you figure out something as i'm following it :)
  2. Just read it, I was thinking somewhere along the same lines of combining jdm and eudm mirror parts to make a useable set but never got that far before I sold the car. BTW are you on hidplanet? I remember a thread there discussing some jdm hids and eu/us headlight glass differences and a xenon projector retrofit
  3. Speaking of mirrors, do the JDM ones feature different angles for the left and right mirrors like the jdm primera and skyline? I remember I bought a set for my Primera and they where absolutely useless for a lhd car cause the left one was angled too much inwards
  4. I remember reading the pulsar/sunny gti-R was often faster 0-100kph in real life tests and reviews than Nissan officially stated. Probably as to not outshine its bigger brother(s) like the r32 and zx ;)
  5. Two black Z's in this pic ;)
  6. I own a 100% stock euro spec TT, and it isn't all that.... Especially if you've driven a z with bolt ons like I used to own a couple of years back. I mean, sure it moves when you want it to, but it doesn't MOVE like a modified one, the stock exhaust pipes are too small for the rear end in my opinion and the sound is bland, turbo lag is noticable. The stock rear wheels are hard to find good quality rubber for and the brakes aren't especially sharp. There is also an aftermarket for these cars still after all these years with great improvements over oem being the results so why keep it bone stock? Surely people aren't going to mind if you upgrade some smaller stuff, most people buy these car for the great potential they have and some people (like me f.ex) view stock ones only as blank canvases to execute their own plans without having to muck about with any previous owners wrong doings. I plan on replacing the wheels to accomodate the 350z rotors, change brake lines, full exhaust upgrade, intercoolers, ecu and air intake. All reversible mods that no one is gonna know about if you're not an enthusiast but doesn't add or subract anything to the value of the car yet adresses the inherent "faults" this car has in stock form. For me it's about bringing out the best in a car(call it OEM+) and in the case of my previous Z32 I actually got more for it modified than stock. But of course, if everyone is modifying then prices for mint oem examples are gonna go up, just look at the AE86, S30 and S13 platforms... So as a long term investment it might proove fruitfull, and there is something special about showing up in a 100% stock ZX to a car show, even owners of modified ones are attracted to it; get some old sales brochures and commercial memorabilia to scatter over the interior and you're gold! But even so, riding around in it I can't shake the feeling that my previous zx gave me a bigger grin....
  7. If smoke disappears with revs it might be some bad valve seals or piston rings, seems oil is burning at low cylinder pressures... What happens when you floor it and just coast on engine breaking after? Does it smoke then? That's typically turbo seal...
  8. I bought some from concept z performance on my previous z, made a noticeable difference.
  9. As long as it's standing on pavement or concrete rust shouldn't be an issue, if it's standing on grass or similar then your screwed. So I wouldn't bother too much if your just keeping it under covers, if your driving it during the winter however then I'd certainly look into some underbody treatment
  10. Yeah, I have the 350z brakes that's going to be mounted so need to ditch the stockers then
  11. I backed into a pile of dogshit! Why is it so hard to pick up your dogs droppings? And especially so when you let your dog take a shit in someone else's driveway?!
  12. Sweet, just like mine:-) I'm actually starting to like the stock wheels. But that's maybe because the other ones on my car is so ugly :-P
  13. It's all about the 'stache... B-)
  14. Since I now have a 300 again, I would want something for winter fun, so a Mitsubishi Lancer evo6 would do! But they're so frigging expensive so more realistically I'd probably end up with a Subaru impreza. Nissan S chassis are fun cars, wouldn't mind one of those...the rx7 turbo, Nissan laurel hardtop coupe (the butaketsu laurel)... ford Sierra cosworth, Mercedes amg of some sorts, the list just goes on and on....
  15. Had to go over all the fuel hose clamps cause the car reeked of petrol when I fired it up tonight. Found several loose ones and two spots where it leaked. Damn cold, probably time to park it in the garage before the snow comes...
  16. I took the spare headlight housing, removed the bulb holder and stuck the bulb in there so I didn't have to cut anything yet. I was more interested in just seeing the output of these bulbs... Hence the halogen is lower than the led since it's sitting on the car and the led light is sitting on top of the radiator. Also my spare headlight was a RHD while my car is a LHD if you're wondering why the cutoff is so different. stock halogen: led: Thoughts: First of all, bright! But by no means do I believe these are 4000lumens per bulb.... It seems more like in the same region as the stock halogens but with more white light... Maybe best case they're slightly brighter, it's hard to tell with the naked(and my untrained) eye. Second: The hotspot seems more sharply defined, don't know how that plays out on the road though as a positive or negative. Might be an option if you want that xenon look but don't wanna retrofit(which doesn't work out anyway on a z32), or fit a hid pnp kit(which also adds more wiring on the zx 'cause the lowbeams shut down when the highs come on)
  17. I ordered a set from eBay, got them today.... Didn't fit.... Just barely fouls on the lip of the rubber boot. Also fouls slightly on the metal clip holding the bulb in. I have one spare light so I'm gonna find a way to work it out. Gonna compare a stock halogen versus this before I commit so I know if it's worth it. But it is blindingly bright, easily outshined the stock halogen just as it was lying on the radiator connected to the headlight wiring...
  18. That's pimp, now give it the vip treatment :-D
  19. Clogged fuel filter?
  20. connect a pressure gauge to the fuel line just after the fuel filter then clamp the return line in the engine bay with vicegrips or a fuelhose plier to see if the pressure rises, if it does your pressure regulator is faulty. If your car doesn't start then you should have someone with you to crank the engine while you check fuel pressure.
  21. Wow, I'd just use a retrosound radio and be done with it :-P
  22. I built a Sq setup in a primera some years back. Fantastic sound, and why I went with focal in my zx, although slightly cheaper components and not as advanced. Gonna buy the same stuff for my current zx when I'm gonna upgrade the stereo
  23. On my previous Z I upgraded the stereo with focal component speakers up front and I bought a focal ibus20 active subwoofer which is small enough to be driven by the power from the iso connector on the back of the stereo but still packs quite a punch. Saves you the trouble of running new power wires and hooking up amplifiers and all that.
  24. Cool! Here's my barnfind I pulled out from some hoarders estate a year ago
  25. For me, 18's are as big as I'd wanna go on a z32. I had 19's on my previous z and they looked alright but in hindsight I think it's just a tad to big, plus I want some meat on the tires 'cause roads here suck ? But it also depends on the style of the wheel as some said. A wheel with a bit of a lip or perhaps a stepped lip will often look smaller than it really is and vice versa
