  1. Is that shifter stock nissan? Kinda looks like the one found in newer beemers.... And the interiour, lovely! I think it would've looked great on a black car! Like mine :P
  2. is this a job best saved for when I replace my front bumper perhaps? Looks tight with the bumper still in place?
  3. Hiding your plates doesn't have to be that hard. Just requires a trip to the hardware store or a junkyard... Plate mounted on a hinge, when you drive fast enough the wind resistance will do the rest and push the plate up and out of view. This is front mounted so won't work in the U.K but will work in countries where cars are photographed from the front. To further evolve the hingemounted plate, use a solenoid, a wiper motor or a small electric solenoid to pull or push the plate out of view. Headlight motors from say an S13 could also be used in these kind of tricks... kawasaki plus wiper motor, wire, carburetor spring and a 2-way switch: http://s11.photobucket.com/albums/a183/RSogMT/kawasaki%20BN%20125/?action=view&current=powersign.mp4
  4. hmm.... this is reality here in Norway unfortunately. Not average speed camera across the entire network of roads but I'm pretty sure that's what the government wants eventually. And they always bring up the road safety thing... Really? Then why are 90% of the cameras placed in the most dumbfound places, and often well hidden ?? 2nd of all, they are GREY, blending perfectly in with the concrete sidewalls of many roads... You can't see them! It has NOTHING to do with safety, it's all just a matter of making a profit. Because we're easy targets, because we need to drive they see an easy income. High road taxes, high petrol prizes, the highest taxes on cars anywhere and all the while the infrastructure rots! But yet as been said we are spineless creatures that just accept it... But I guess every thing has it's breaking point, just look at the arab countries... We're one of the richest countries in the world yet our government can't afford anything, I guess that's what greed does to you.
  5. Yes, when I replaced the stock manifold(with precats) I noticed a big difference, I also upped the ignition to about 20degrees and put on a CAI. But upon removal of the main cat, nothing... just more noise :P I was just on conceptZperformance site and replacing your cats with test pipes gives you a 10-14hp, but I would like a dynosheet thanks :smartass:
  6. Are they really that much of a hindering? I remember reading someplace that Nissan's cats actually flow pretty good, and that removing them really didn't do all that much... I'm just asking because on the Primera I replaced the cat and didn't notice any difference performance wise. Just a lot louder exhaust, wich became annoying after about 1 hour so I stuck on the cat again... I'm not saying the two cars are directly comparable in that way though. Seeing as one is turbo and one is N/A
  7. If I want to replace the hamburger with a jdm Z emblem, do I need a jdm nose panel too?
  8. yeah I had a look last night, they don't look all to bad. It's not like the teeth have been flattened or anything so i'll try the tamiya cogs first.
  9. Thats what I was worried about.... Since the plastic cogs broke I had to turn the adjuster pins with pliers to remove the projector and reflector , so they don't look to good.
  10. Great info, I'm doing a xenon projector retrofit to a spare set of headlights I have and on the first light i opened up all the cogs where split. But I was thinking of just weld, or glue on a nut to the adjuster rod itself. Opinions? Would adjust it with a socket and ratchet, or will it not fit?
  11. czp makes an egr delete kit. But blanking plates can easily be made up yourself either with a steel or aluminium plate.
  12. Good question, i'm wondering this myself. What i'll do now is take it out for one last drive, top up the fuel to avoid condensation, slightly overinflate the tyres, disconnect the battery and charge it then store it. Also i'm gonna give her a god wash since there was some salt on a stretch of road I had to drive through before the weekend. Don't want no rust!
  13. no auto aim as far as I know. You just have to suck it up untill you get some skill :) Completing the single player campaign a couple of times is great for increasing skill, remember to turn OFF auto aim and after you have completed the campaign, go back and do it again at a higher level. :) Also you have the special ops missions, wich are great for training, and you can bring a friend to back you up :)
  14. something like this? http://s95014253.onlinehome.us/63104/197490.html
  15. well the relay box is in the same place I see, only difference is the location of the light switch pod but I reckon the wiring is the same though.
  16. good point, but I think I have one that is about the same size. We'll se what I'll do. This guide applies to lhd vehicles to right?
  17. Hi, I have a set of fx-r bixenon projectors wich I want to put in my headlights replacing the stock halogen projector. So I've been doing some research and come across the HID light mod in the faq area: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=117007 It describes a nissan blue relay, and from the photo in the how-to document it looks just like a regular spst relay with a normally open contact? Like the ones you use to wire up auxiliary lights f.ex. No need to buy a new nissan relay if I can use a relay I alreay have lying about in my garage...
  18. yeah we'll se how it looks when I remove the shifter boot. Thanks guys :)
  19. I usually don't play the stereo so loud, the low grunt of the VG30 is music enough for me ;) For now anyway. Thanks for the help guys, good to hear it's nothing more serious, I will be replacing the gear knob and shifter boot since they show some wear, i'm guessing I might as well just buy the rubber boots and replace hem at the same time. It's these right? http://www.conceptzperformance.com/Cart/description.php?II=2940&Car_Type=NIS300&UID=2010092912244980.213.27.145 http://www.conceptzperformance.com/Cart/description.php?II=2941&Car_Type=NIS300&UID=2010092912244980.213.27.145
  20. Hi there, just got myself my very first Z, a 91' twinturbo, couldn't be happier :) But there is a weird noise when the car is in 2nd and 4th, kind of a blowing noise, seems to be coming from the front of the center console somehow. It's only when the shifter is in these two gears, and the noise only appears from 1500 to 2000 rpm's. Previous owner said something about it might beeing a missing or broken rubber boot or rubber thingy between gearbox and chassi. Anyone know what I mean, or have encountered this themselves? Anyone know where to start looking?
