  1. Thursday I drove over three mountains, and every time I was going down, the coolant temp started to drop and after a long period of coasting, engine braking, and light to zero load the needle would go all the way to the bottom. Then as it flattened out the temp gauge would normalize. Any ideas? I bought a new thermostat which I'm gonna fit when I do my timing belt but could it be something else? I should say that under normal driving conditions everything is normal.
  2. Oh. And if you want it looking the part afterwards I can recommend meguiars engine dressing. Just spray on and leave it be.
  3. I powerwash my engine bay, no problems. Make sure it's cold, spray on a good engine cleaner or degreaser, let it work, maybe scrub areas that are extra dirty with a brush then hose of with hose or pressure washer. It can handle some water just use your head and don't apply direct pressure at connectors or other areas where the pressure can force water in...
  4. Weren't the mk4 suppose to launch about the same time as the z32 but the zx came out first and basically blew the doors of the competition, forcing Toyota back to the drawing board? So I was told and if true it's pretty cool how Nissan forced Toyota to step up its game...
  5. Straight swap as long as you get the caliper adapter seen to the left of the rotor. I bought mine at concept Z performance. The rotors and pads I bought at rockauto.com as I was ordering some other parts there too Nice upgrade over stock, can definitely feel I'm being pushed out of my seat now. I also have steel braided brake lines waiting to go on.
  6. I upgraded to 350z track edition rotors and new pads.
  7. A good operator of a manual Z always thinks ahead and thus downshifts when he sees Joe coming up from behind so that he is always in the correct powerband. You where taken of guard ;-)
  8. Acura or lexus internals i believe Sent fra min D6503 via Tapatalk
  9. I have 225/45 front and 265/35 rear. Will be going with 225/40 fronts when I change as the 45 is a bit on the big side. Max 5% difference is the law around here Sent fra min D6503 via Tapatalk
  10. I've often looked at that drawing and thought; "that would make a nice tattoo" Cool Sent fra min D6503 via Tapatalk
  11. Tires....I meant new tires :-P Sent fra min D6503 via Tapatalk
  12. Installed "new" wheels, rays gram lights 57. Needs a clean and newer wheels but I'm happy with it for the moment :-) Sent fra min D6503 via Tapatalk
  13. I was set on white side repeaters and facelift rear lights on mine but the orange has grown on me, doesn't look that bad on red, looks old but doesn't look bad ;-) Sent fra min D6503 via Tapatalk
  14. Totally agree, the manual is one of the best transmissions I have dealt with, short throws, silky-smooth and a somewhat heavy feeling, can't understand why people replace the standard shiftknob Sent fra min C6603 via Tapatalk
  15. You're right the Americans have never been into manuals the way Europeans and other people have, but nowadays more and more people are buying autos even over here. Even I like my daily/family car to be auto, and my current one is actually faster 0-60 with an automatic than manual and that's not even a fancy type of auto just a regular 6speed. So the technology certainly has come a long way. But in my Z? Manual all the way, that drop from 5th to 3rd and flooring the pedal is just addictive! Sent fra min C6603 via Tapatalk
  16. Not if you're a paraplegic with slightly over the norm interest in driving :-P Don't you have 5 with the overdrive? The guy I spoke to said it shifted as fast as you'd shift a manual. Not speed shifting like the drift king but plain normal shifting Sent fra min C6603 via Tapatalk
  17. You can get flappy paddles and override the z32 auto box though if you'd like. Just a bit costly :-) Sent fra min C6603 via Tapatalk
  18. Put velcro tape on this so it doesn't fall off every time I accelerate... cheap fix ;-) Sent fra min C6603 via Tapatalk
  19. I like the oem wheel, but I can't heel/toe properly with it and when turning it my knuckles touch my thighs, so I'm looking for a smaller one but finding one that looks good in the Z is a challenge. Also I want to keep the cruise control so I would need to get the cruise control stalk and column cover
  20. Looks modern. I like it alot Sent fra min C6903 via Tapatalk
  21. Sharpened steel blades on that fan? Damn! :-P I've been hit a couple of times by fans but no worse than some cursing and swearing though... That pic also reminds me of the guy who thought it was a good idea to turn on the engine and put it in gear to clean his motorcycle chain :-o Sent fra min C6903 via Tapatalk
  22. Gotta love those ssqv's :-D Sent fra min C6903 via Tapatalk
  23. Then there's gotta be something wrong with your heater controls. You mentioned the auto and econ buttons didn't work. That might be the cause. Try and see if you can't get someone to swap the pod with you to see if that does it. If not then the issue might be something on the heater itself, like the valve that controls the hot water to the heater matrix or the control of said valve. Sent fra min C6903 via Tapatalk
  24. Looking forward to the 500+hp one, hopefully that'll give the ls one a run for its money... I watched the ls one and was like 10k for a rebuild VG? What are you building a race engine?! So much bs... Sent fra min C6903 via Tapatalk
