  1. There is a difference. im fairly sure. I may have one. Let me look tomorrow
  2. The phrase "Beyond economic repair" comes to mind. i have broken 6/8 Z32s over the years but never seen one that bad.
  3. So I went to York..... and its broke!!!!!! Not serious..... Only made a couple of runs before a fuelling related issue stopped play. Managed to nurse it home on a VERY lean AFR reading without too much drama. It runs... badly. No smoke. no steam no overheating. No pushing out water. no missfire as such Fuel pressure ... OK Im neither surprised or disappointed really as that is what the object of the day out was... to put it under extreme conditions. Its a vindication of my original policy of building and testing the whole car with a standard engine BEFORE installing my new high compression forged engine. Im sure with a little help from some "friends" I will track down the problem. Onwards and upwards.
  4. As discussed..................................
  5. That is pretty simple to make. Any competent small engineering workshop could make them.
  6. No its not just you. The road to building hybrids and highly modded z32s is not an weasy one. There is no manual to consult. So you will encounter problems. In addition not all the aftermarket items out there have been properly tested and developed particularly stuff from China and Taiwan etc that is touted about by a variety of Ebay and Car club forum Traders. And no Aftermarket manufacturer checks compatability with its rivals products. So ... for example buying headers, decats and a Zorst from three different suppliers is a likley road to some minor compatability problems. the most famous one us NA owners encounter is the insistance that their chinese made "Stillen rip off" headers fit RHD cars without issues... which is total b#llox so dont loose heart ... just work round the issues.
  7. i had the pleasure of meeting Sacha the other day. Welcome properly to the forum Z club.net is a nice little forum but its very quiet and inward looking by comparison to here. The Midlands area of 300ZX.co.uk has a long history of many active Z32 owners. Nice to have another one on board
  8. Great answer Graham!! but its an anti vibration/noise/harshness conterbalance weight I believe.
  9. Im going out tomorrow Sun to see if i can wear the tyres down a bit at York Raceway. I havent done any 1/4 miles for several years so I have probably forgotton what to do. So it will be a no pressure day out for me to see how the car feels under pressure!! The rev counter is all over the place and the speedo is not working so I will just follow my usual form of old and squeeze it till it squeaks. the Emerald system starts to cut out at7500 revs so that will tell mwe when I need to change up a gear.
  10. Well Im no expert on TTs but I am pretty clued up on NA tuning and power. The SGP "chart" for the NA is just pure fantasy... IMO. EG.. I have Stillen filtercharger kit. Light puulley. Headers. Light flywheel. Fabulous custom decat pipes and a matching freeflow exhaust.. PLUS Fuuly programmable Emerald engine management. Result 232bhp at fly on 20 year old used engine.
  11. it doesnt tell you when the 20 year old engine you are using goes "BANG" either:biggrin::biggrin:
  12. i have one made......... just needs cutting to size and fitting:yes: One of MANY MANY jobs still to do:biggrin: much more important tho is get in it and drive!!
  13. Pah! Youre a lightweight Baz in the before and after pics. BEFORE....During... AFTER.....:cool3:
  14. Well done Lee. even PC dinosaurs like me can manage to make it work. Only got one section done ATM
  15. LOl!! You didnt bid much did you???? Surely if you are a collector etc that was worth a fiver???? I didnt buy it BTW
  16. Of course this is what its all about...... middle picture is the 4WD Final.
  17. More......................................
  18. I also took some pics of other people spending large amounts of money.......
  19. Totb sunday........:glare::glare::glare: well it wasnt a good day....lets just move on. I took some pictures. Enjoy.....
  20. Agreed:thumbup1: And if you dont want to drive about in a greenhouse with removable roof then there is only one car to have!!!!! :smartass::smartass:
  21. no its not. £260 is for the pair of outer lights. The centre panel is extra
  22. But a dust shield is NOT a brake backplate. A brake back plate is what the wheel cylinders. shoes etc are fixed to.

Drag results are quarter mile standing start. Flyers is a 1KM standing start with speed at the flying kilometer measured. Circuit is a giant slalom course round a LOT of very tight cones ... timed of course. There are also FWD classes and 4WD classes. The best and fastest in the country. I will be there with Bob tomorrow
  24. As far as Scams go that isquite well thought out. I like the link to something legit . The BBC news.. (6 years old) On the Scammeter it rates 7.5.!!!!
  25. So let me give you my opinion...... You are involved in Motorsport arent you so you may already know all this. The idea of the engine/box being a part of the chassis is correct... See F1 and other single seaters. But it needs to be designed/built around that concept. Nissan and all road car manufcturers use rubber and similar composite bushes to get acceptible levels of VNH in their products. You may think your vehicle is harsh now... BUT you have no idea how much solid bushes will increase that... to what for most people is unaccetable levels of vibration and noise. Then there is the problem that your shell isnt designed to take such levels of stress so it WILL crack near the solid mounts. FACT ThatsOK you tell me.. Ill just weld on some reinforcing plates... Nope ... it will just crack roud the reinforcing plates. Thats all OK on a very limited mileage track car but no good for any sort of road car. IMO.... IMO.... IMO Ill get me coat......
