  1. No bolts!!! LOTS of glass bonding compo almost an inch wide in places. Mate its BONDED IN in a 300ZX
  2. A 9" wide 17 will just be spot on. It will take a 255/40 - 17 tyre comfortably. Some 8" fronts will be a good match with 235/45-17 tyres.
  3. once the insurance has paid out it belongs to the insurance company. Unless you accept the car as part settlement. Some insurance companies put the cars out to tender , others put them thru salvage auctions. I know of a nice TT (well nice pre accident!!) that made close to £1000 at a salvage auction.
  4. What diameter are you buying??? If 18" then as Si says 8" is WAY too narrow for the back. Stock J spec are 7"all round and UK rear stock are 8". Having a 8" rear will limit you to a 245 section tyre. If you are going to spend money on some new wheels then at least get the optimum size for the car.
  5. I hope you have fitted them correctly in my subframe???
  6. Label EVERYTHING and put it in separate Zip lock bags.Label EVERY pipe and connector. Clever experienced spanner men dont need to do this but essential for amateurs. And even highly trained engineers use this system. My pal locally rebuilds aero engines for Rolls Royce. In that scenario EVERY nut, bolt etc goes in a separate bag with a unique reference number. Photograph every detail where it looks tricky (to you). Do full engine bay overhaul too when its out. brake pipes, hoses etc. Take your time, be methodical. Ensure you have good engine crane, lifting chains and axle stands. You will need to drop the crossmember to get the engine out.
  7. Hmmm! I seem to recognise the venue!! :) :)
  8. Ive got one too!! Got mine on tuesday from sunny Wakefield :) Nice motor in graphite grey! Shame the auto box if fekked! What colours yours then Mike????
  9. Look in our Traders Section. Mike at MJP Eastern auto will be able to supply the correct disc. Have your vin number ready!! 01277 374201
  10. Well thats where the fault is. The list is wrong. Early NAs have a different disc. Ive had this before with other people and "motor factors"
  11. My local garage in Eastwood has done mine before. Call me to discuss. 01773 761238 or 07778 411568
  12. Might be worth asking Ken at ZXcess. Just depends what he has got in , and probably how much you are prepared to pay him!!! Pm me for his phone number. Hes near Brentwood I think. or call me 01773 761238 or 07778 411568
  13. Welcome to the madhouse Tony. Glad yer sorted with a moter now! Good to see you are spending aleady. You just have to remember who I am when Im here. If you know wot I mean  :) :)
  14. No mate, all the good blokes havent left. Im here and so are hundreds more! And good gals too! :) the club is financially strong with strong leaders. It cetainly aint going under. Now back to your original request.. You are trying go organize a meet with only 4 days notice????? Hmmm, not giving much time for peeps to make plans is it?? And its not exactly a free venue is it. Bantambunny and me have just held a Midlands meets last Sunday. We were well pleased with a turnout of 7/8 cars, but that was with several weeks planning and publicity. im not having a go at you Karl as I know wot a good bloke you are but I do think that its all a little bit too near the day to organize much of a meet. And dont forget there are thousands of people there , moving cars around is a nightmare, so geting everyone together is difficult. I wont be there as it looks like a mini meet at my place this weekend to sort out some parts!!!! And no way am I queuing 3 hours to get out again! All IMHO
  15. So will the same situation apply to an NA Z32 engine as Daz's V8. Just vent the crank cases into the catch tank???? I dont "do " turbos!! In case you hadnt noticed!
  16. Maybe I ought to point out that Jason, Yamis other half WAS there too! Before any of you get the wrong end of this. LOL :p
  17. Eh up me duck! thats pretty much what I am planning to do. I take it that its also safe to get rid of the water pipes to the plenum too?? Your thoughts on that Daz??? And anyone else.
  18. Chunk, Skyline Dave, Yaseen and others are all from Leicester. Like its two sister East Midlands towns Nottingham and Derby. Industrial, large council estates. Lots of inner city red brick style streets . Big city centre shops . Large semi detached suburban areas etc. Huge and varied mix really lots of us live in the East Midlands towns or close to them. Its home to us and we welcome Southerners!!!! But we do insist they return home! LOL
  19. Not at the speed I type Jimi. :nono: gimme a call and Ill tell ya. :D 01773 761238
  20. Most of us on here who run quarters only do RWYB days. We dont even get to do bracket races. We do sometimes have a little unofficial head to head racing  Although next year I am looking at trying some bracket racing, as Im getting closer to the consistency of runs needed.
  21. It isnt bad in itself. But it will take out any already weak engines. Remember adding 100shot NOS to the avarage Worn NA engin e like most of us are using is adding 50% power increase in one go!! Thats in the danger zone. Its not bad. Best to get saving for some forged pistons and nice strong rods! ;)
  22. I have to say that this is one of the most enlightening threads I have read for some time. It may also explain the fact that although I have a feather weight carbon prop with light ally ends which Is well balanced I still get a micro vibration at some speeds. is somewhat similar to second degree harmonics in cranks??? Oh yeh!! One other thing ... I wanna look at da V8! Me n Ed are only up the road?? Group V8 viewing anyone?? :D :D :D
  23. OOOOOOOPS!!! Looks like I wont be getting anymore help calls now :nana2: ;) ;) ;)
  24. Yep , What Vijay says, and Mike will ship it all to you.
  25. Fair comment. I believe you.In that case it is a faulty mastercylinder. Micro amounts of air are bypassing the seal with use. New Mcyl will cure. Others will say just reseal it... Ok it may work but I personally have given up trying to bodge up 15 year old components like that. Do it once and do it right. Ive had this debate countless times. People spend pounds on litres of fluid trying to solve the problem and waste hour after hour on it. None of the Motor trade garages I use will even discuss a "reseal" Its new or they wont touch the job. Up to you. Im not for telling you how to ...... its your car. All above is IMHO and meant to be helpful
