whats needed help
have a good read about, certainty in the states they will run 500 bhp on stock intercoolers, I think the problem comes when your doing multiple boosts, still it isn't going to hurt is it. It should reduce charge temps and be safer to run more power. I think its probably wise but not fully essential.

DIY zwork
Sorry to see this, how did the sealant get to the turbos? the pickup has a gauze on it does it not? that should stop any large items from being taken through the oil circulation system. Unless the oil tree or something post oil pickup has had sealant put on it? bit confusing that. I suppose the failed bearing caused excessive shaft play which was the cause of the impellor damage? When I did mine, we popped the fuel fuse and primed the engine until oil could be seen in the head through the filler cap, then twice more for good luck, would you say that's satisfactory?

Your not going to get any better at it by not pushing yourself. You just have to accept if it goes wrong theres no one to fall back on but yourself.

very strange
Jack the front up and check for play, sounds like somethings loose, wherls steering arm etc. it would need to be a friggin rock to make the steering shake. All depends on how pronouced it is, you should still have a good inspect just in case.

strange niggling problem
I believe once your manual the neutral switch is responsible for telling the ecu to advance/retard the timing as and when the car is in gear. Could you take a timing measure with a volunteer knocking it into reverse and out, as it pops in and out the timing should change from 25 to 15 or the other way round not sure.

Oh and the pvc's.... Im not 100% confident on them as they are not oem. However I do feel slightly more positive.

confirm or deny my paranoia please...
Done some investigating today with the little free time I had. all of the intercooler piping is clear, or as clear as to be expected, certainly not over oily or dirty. The plenum itself has like a tidemark up the side but no visible pools of oil, the tide mark has ben there since I got the engine. Checked the oil level which is the same as it was 100 miles ago, but too few miles to tell hey but yeah. I also watched the oil pressure, at idle this stayed at the first notch, rising with the revs. The smoke on start up is pure white and I did a condensation collection by sticking some cold metal next to it, what was collected was pure water, with a little black dust, so I happy with that. I also had a look at the exhaust gaskets and joins theres no oil pooling round there or evidence of it. I also popped off the oil filler cap, the engine idle changed when this happened, I assume this is correct? I also pulled the dipstick whilst idling and placed my thumb over it, no pressure was felt, I take it this is also a good thing? I am as of yet to do a compression or leak down, however after even more reading today I would seem its not unusual to have traces of oil burning out the exhaust on overrun for upto 2000 miles! im confused as to why oil burns on the overrun, whether its simply more visible or whether theres something else to it :s

Reverse light feed
There are two cables in the front near the power steering fluid pot, these are used to take the feed when you do a manual conversion. cant remember off the top of my head what colour but I could point them out if you get me. I recon you could take a spur from there.

Gearbox fitting tips
The box is fecking heavy for that, on an old ford id go that way everytime bug t5 he zed box is a lump. As above raise the front, to get a better angle then roll ot it in. you may find you need to manipulate the the box a degree or two to get it all to line up on the splines. Once its on use the longer bolts to pull it in.
