  1. The uk cars are the holy grail of supra's arn't they? With the steel turbos, larger injectors and don't they come with the sixspeed box? hence the reason a uk supra is so much more expensive than a jspec one.
  2. Do you know what I mean? do they have a proper name? They sit on the flat part of the door card half way up, between the switches and the seatbelt. How rare are they? are they even a stock thing? Basically I want to get some soon, I'm just not even sure where to start, what its actually called would be a good start ey.
  3. Lets face it the supra is a 1990's handbag, yeah its tuneable yes its a great looking car, but the reality is its not actually as amazing or easy as people make out, its a victim or success what ever way you look at it of the fast and furious saga. Same as the skyline, every 18 year old thinks you can get 1000 hp out these cars without breaking a sweat the truth is it will cost you a serious wedge, and a lot of time. For the outlay of what you'd have to pay to get a twin turbo manual supra you could get your current z32 to a spec that would be a reliable tarmac eating rocket ship.
  4. There most likely for using stock calliper's with 350z discs.
  5. If in doubt go to your GP the worst they can do is turn round and say you were being silly but its fine...Don't for heavens sake go googling fretting thinking anything. Just be sensible and if it doesn't feel right get it check simples. Its probably nothing.
  6. Nope lol, I haven't worked on any other Japanese engines, and I don't really intend to unless its a vh45 but that's another story haha. I also posted this link on the local car club to let the Honda fanboys learn something.
  7. Just to show some things you never knew.... http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/28207-vg30dett-vs-rb26dett/
  8. think ive seen this car before, is it orange and black?
  9. sure its not something simple like a poor ptu connection, failed ptu or the likes?
  10. Don't do it, your car paint work is fine.
  11. id love to be there when all the s14 fanboys go why have you put that in there? only to realise the fact that they put all that effort into there sr20 getting 350hp out of it and your effortlessy producing it on a pretty stock engine. Teach them kids something will you lol
  12. In terms of performance, a rag top z32 will not be up the scratch with a z33 rag top, for one reason alone, rag top z32 are ALL non turbo from factory and almost exclusively automatic, so are creating around 220hp thats not to say they are slouchy just not as quick as the z33 and its 280hp motor. Why exactly are you set on a soft top? The more common z32 te top model is just as nice as a convertible, more secure, better looking, available in the manual twin turbo platforms from factory, this comes at a happy 280hp from factory and can be encouraged to put down circa 400hp on the stock engine and turbos. Id never try and talk anyone out of buying any fairlady, but in honesty dot for dot the z33 soft top is a better car than a z32 soft top, but a full fat twin turbo z32 is a killer car even in this day and age.
  13. Yeah, as your probably already worked out by now jammer is the daddy where these engines are concerned. With that in mind we will quickly be able to see the damage I suspect with just the plugs out looking at the engine bay, we can then compression test it cold or preferably hot if it will run long enough. TBH mate that really depends on what you personally want to do, cost effectiveness wise its cheapest to buy a known good second hand engine, give it a once over with the service items and set it up in the bay. If your looking to spend some money and look at the car in terms of future proofing and upgrading then a rebuilt block would be best but is obviously more expensive. What rings alarum bells for me is the recent tuning work done... Anyways that's by the by, done now.
  14. If you want to diagnose things further, I have a compression tester and know my way round the VG30 enough to tell you whether its died a death bud, so I could come over somewhen and we will pull the plugs, inspect the damage etc. Unfortunately Im pretty busy over the next week.
  15. Your exhaust shouldn't be the issue, barely any of us have the stock system these days. FOR two reasons, A most have opted to get the gains from a catback the stock system is very restrictive, B. the reason they made that option is the original has rotted away and the OEM replacement if you could get hold of one is seriously expensive.
  16. DAILY DRIVER! HOUSE! fecking hell rob mate, ive told you before about getting your priorities in order. haha. how is the car atm?
  17. Oppps lots of oil everywhere there, strange you got white smoke pour out, quite possible its a turbo that's shat the bed. however got knows what it will have done to the block. Sorry to hear this and I hope it isn't the end of the line for you bud.
  18. Just for those that haven't read this on the Beaulieu website. "Entry into the Beaulieu Parkland with your Japanese vehicle is from 9.30am – the Brabazon Restaurant will be open for bacon rolls, cakes, teas and coffees. Please note that if you wish to park alongside your friends, or fellow club members, you must arrive together as there will be no designated areas available." So if we can all be at Beaulieu bang on for 9.30am, It takes around 10 minutes to get from the designated meet point at the applemore Tescos, aka Dibden with the following post code, SO45 5JA So if we all aim to be at that meeting point for around 9am this give sus time to group up, be late, and make our way onto the site. Google directions link: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?bav=on.2,or.r_qf.&biw=1366&bih=651&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=dibden+tescos&fb=1&gl=uk&hq=tescos&hnear=0x4874771cba69d28b:0x9570d79b8caf07d3,Dibden,+Hampshire&cid=0,0,14215444979552358398&sa=X&ei=8uywUeI3ie86mdCAmAc&ved=0CHgQ_BIwAw

  20. Do yourself a big favour, come to Beauleiu National Motor Museum on the 4th of august for Simply Japanese, there should be a fair few club members going down over 15 have said they are coming now. This is a great opportunity for you to meet some club members, see a few variations of the model and talk in depth and have a nose around a few models up close, cant say better than that can I :D nothing beats first hand imformation, and being able to actually see up close what's being talked about.
  21. bloody good numbers shame about the compression, good luck with that. what was involved in fitting those turbos? fairly straight forward?
  22. very nice mark cheers for the vid, bet your itching to get those first few thousand miles out the way and make that first pull.
