  1. Yeah they are garret, it's a gtx28 ie a Roller bearing larger version of the t25 fitted to our cars. If I'm right it's a gtx28 housing and exhaust housing with a machined out gt25 front housing. There's a damn good set of tubs.
  2. Are you saving much doing it this way?
  3. Seems to depend on the tester, I've not had a strap for years. Because the zeds battery sit in a nice tight hole it seems to be ok. Normally though yeah it's an issue.
  4. That may solve car mads problem lol.
  5. Those look like r34 gtr wheels.
  6. The manifolds are a knob to unbolt with the turbos on with the engine on a stand. So I would assume you would need to remove the turbos aswel as the plenums etc, time and effort wise it's simply not worth it. Can you not do the work somewhere else?
  7. Get the roof bars black, it makes such a difference. The roof looks more complete, the car looks more squat and it looks far more modern.
  8. Lovely service in town today, lots of cadets and service personal, veterans and relatives. Gun salute the lot. It really is important to remember all those who have given their lives to uphold freedom of all nationalities.
  9. That's what you get for living in the artic circle. It's fresh here but sunny
  10. I can't remember when my not runs out, the dog ate the certificate! Little bugger. I'm sure it's somewhen round now. Think it's next month though.
  11. The z33 is still a fat frog though hahaha
  12. I was only joshing, they are as you say very good at being what they were designed to be. Their competition in the marketplace esp price wise on launch, was well suited. I'd certainly pick one over an rx8 or Audi tt. The trouble for me comes when we compare it as a zed car, expecting it to for full the modern equilvent of our own z32, they're just not equal in any way. The similarity ends at the fairlady badge IMO. This isn't actually the z33s fault, it doesn't fall short of the fairlady badge, it isn't a poor shadow. The fault lies squarely at the z32 it's a black sheep. Fairlady's where supposed to be cheap and nimble light weight sports cars. On release the z32 was expensive, heavy and high powered, almost all Fairlady's have been accused of being under powered. Were the black sheep I'm afraid.
  13. It's no surprise that they aren't as well built, the z33 is a slave to its budget. It's not a flagship car, or even a particularly expensive car new. Also bear in mind, Renault have their fingers in the pie, would you buy a Renault? No because their crap.... I rest my case gentlemen, all they are worth is ripping the rays and brembos off IMO :p fat frog.
  14. My vw does this, quick flick makes it flag three times. I hate it! It's too sensitive which leaves me indicating three flashes the wrong way when cancelling. I've got a bit more used to it but ugh, what a useless aggravation it is. Be less lazy Simon lol.
  15. Yeah sounds about right, box fish are notorious for bacterial infections, they stress easily and succumb to infection. Check he isn't being picked on, they are slow and often get picked on by fast moving fish. The trouble is if he's in and out of the display he's likely to re infect quite quickly once reintroduced. Think giving a patient drugs then throwing them back in the dirty ward, reinfection isn't surprising. If your going to run a system with mostly large fish done of which are known to be a little easy to succumb, tangs etc an appropriately sized uv may well be a beneficial addition. It's no miracle cure but it helps even the playing field. I don't personally use one, I quarantine my stock and the uv would be fairly useless to me.
  16. Yeah, you get better coloured individuals, it's ultimately genetic, localised populations etc, but partially dietary. This is more pronounced with freshwater fish, some supplier where they are mass bred are dire, you may have noticed some nèons are super colourfull. Beyond this diet will help you achieve the best colours your particular specimen can attain, it's worth noting that intense lighting helps, fish colour is donated by reflected light, think of fish scales as prisms. Emperors are well, part of the large angelfish group. Kings of the reef, some of that group of fish are snotty enough to get agressive with divers. In terms of aggression it's less aggressive than the Picasso will be as an adult, they are regularly kept in large reef tanks with carefully selected corals, it's one of those fish you take your chances with. There are plenty of lovely angels which are reef safe and smaller, but that's not the point is it lol. You are right of corse, loads of conflicting advice. The problem is everyone's an expert, often on subjects that don't have a right or wrong answer. Over time you will work out your own ways and sniff out the bull shit. It's always worth checking said experts tank thread, if their tank looks crap their own advice isn't working so well is it lol. The best advice I can give you are the three following points. Research, research then research again. Nothing good ever happens fast. Keep it simple. These three things have always served me well, the amount if guys you see rush rush rush, pouring in chemical x y z only to fail, a little fore thought can work wonders.
  17. I think a 25mm roll and pop of the rear will be fine for me. :)
  18. Get some drag radials on your z then see what happens :p
  19. There so different you can't compare. It's like comparing a bmx to a road bike. The gearing is totally different, it's like scoobies off the line and to 60 stock for stock the scoobies would win, once that's over and the zed has built up some traction and steam you real them in fairly quick. Also don't forget an Evo is lighter so it's got an even higher power to weight than it first looks.
  20. I love the rear diffuser and rear arches. However the arches don't blend in from all angles, it can make the car look wedge shaped without popped out fronts.
  21. Uk cars have additional cooling that Jspec cars do not have. In autos, an additional dedicated cooler, as apposed to the radiator loop on Jspec cars. In manuals a dedicated box cooler exists albeit small, there is no cooler on a Jspec. I have mine looped out on the recommendation of silver bullet who never had one on his track car, he considered it unnecessary. Engine oil coolers, the uk spec is a 19 row (aka nismo cooler) the Jspec is roughly half that size. The last two are the diff oil cooler and power steering fluid cooler, being located in the rear and front as you would expect. These are both uk only things. For a side note iirc the Psf cooler is on a hicas line, look into that.
  22. Don't for heavens sake fit a stock clutch, does it slip constantly or can it just not hold the power over a certain load. If the latter is the case, I know it's not ideal but do you need to do anything about it? The car will still be plenty quick with some limitation power wise until you have the disposable income to fit the correct clutch. Alternatively put some of your products on sale, use this cash to purchase the correct clutch, the USA is going to be the place to buy cheap quality.
  23. Spot on there dave, there's no defining line to call a car a super car. So by that token if the media hailed it Japan's first super car, that is quite simply was it is. I personally think of it as a sports gt. With it being an fr layout, my personal feeling is that a super car is a mid engined car. That's personal though, nothing more.
