  1. Be easier to swap it out for a Jspec elbow, bet you could get one for free. If you've brought full straight through test pipes you will get the divorced downpipes with it.
  2. That's the one you can't beat it. I guess that's the right word antique, it's that feeling you get even sat still.
  3. Try looking at your door latches. The plastic had come off mine so the door didn't pull in fully. It's not leak free but it's way better.
  4. Fashion mate, the honda kids are going silly with it. Cars with soooo much camber they look broken just to squeeze a crazy offset in there. It's like a badge of honour to brag about x crazy offset.
  5. I know what you mean, it's a kind of soul. I'm not saying my z32 is soulless, but it's never felt like an old friend. My old Capri I used to take it out to the new forest and just drive, I only came home because I'd run out of fuel/money. Maybe that was partly the time, I had time and no worries back then. But it felt alive. My z32 feels alive sometimes, usually though when it's there reminding you not to be a dick with punishing loss of traction. That's what I aim to get out the z over the next year something uncomfortable, highly connected and a touch primal savage. Chassis first :)
  6. That's an absolute winner! Love it.
  7. Yeah, that's why I asked. There's ways round it.
  8. Just watch your shit mr poo.
  9. I genuinely don't think I'm ever going to afford a 240z. The prices keep going up and I find more things to hold me back timescale wise :(
  10. Odd question to reply with, but why?
  11. Hrm, iirc nitrogen is an inert gas, ie non flammable etc. So realistically no different to any other pressurised gas filled strut. In thoery I can't see them being any different to any other suspension strut. If in doubt though best to just fire kyb a quick mail?
  12. Cheers Scott, trouble is at present that's all they are, ideas. I really think this needs to be a standalone event, that provides a wider array of options than say jae or japfest, equally an event the mrs and kids can happily come to without getting bored. That's a big plus if that can be achieved in my eye, as it means firstly more chaps will be permitted persimisson to attend under that banner and more importantly it makes them more interested. Many members dont want to sit in a field and talk cars, many don't want to get their tyres warm. Providing multiple options nets a larger attendance.
  13. Is that the fact it looks like the 240z but isn't? I still struggle to tell one from the other!
  14. I do have some ideas, the major one being a z vs z day/weekend. An event with various competitions, show and shine, go karting, drag racing, auto solo and little silly events for the young ins. An event where we pit all fairlady models up and give out silly prizes with a family astmosphere and good times. A bit of something for everyone. The marque with the most trophies overall wins, a polished vg30 piston on a con rod makes a great cheap throphy and is topical.
  15. Don't forget fibreglass body kit and ice.
  16. My zed already has 265 rears, not cheap crap either, a set of pzero Rosso's and I can honestly say that dry traction is acceptable. It's not great, even at stock power. I can spin up shifting into third in the dry if I'm not carefull.
  17. Apparently it's about 600 ponies that is the passing point on snapping driveshafts. On drag radials and more than 600 expect to snap tt ones regularly. :( I know what you mean about a safety clutch lol, but it slows you down and or helps you to climb trees.
  18. Correct. You can also hook up a 9v battery and watch down the plug hole to see if it sprays.
  19. I've been thinking about this a lot recently, tire width and grip. It's not quite as simple as a wider tyre equals more grip. There's a point of deminising return, which relates to the weight applied to the contact patch. That's just straight lines, where corners are concerned it gets even more complex, weight transfer and flex can mean you actually achieve less grip! Yes confusing stuff, you may gain more grip from a correctly adjusted tyre pressure than simply going wider. As far as I'm aware no one has ever tested a z32s optimal tyre size in any given situation. Certain 700hp super cars have rears over 12j and traction control etc, It also weighs more than a z32 so can exploit it more. What I'm trying to say is it's not clear cut, the old whack some uber wide rears on possibly not the best solution for us. I'm very much considering swapping to a 225/40/17r front and 245/40/17r rear as as a road legal slick, this should have more grip than a 265/35/18r I think, I'm not sure really. I have big concerns ATM, over actually getting power on the floor. I'm not going to reveal much but grips an issue at stock power off the line let alone with more... How does your na rear end fair dave? Is it just a tyre spinning mess from standstill
  20. Read that the other day, good stuff.
  21. Nice pics thanks for sharing. I do like the vrx8 when they came out I really wanted one, they sound great and the new shape is a great car, but new the price has got silly, nearly 50k I believe for a muscle car is a lot. The early shape can be picked up pretty reasonably, I must admit I've been tempted, but I just keep reminding myself it's a vauxhall, I would be really disappointed after a few years when it falls apart. Did the omptimus primer feel a bit Slow on the way home? ESP with a dead maf.
  22. I would love to, however If I'm honest with myself it's going to be longer than that before the car is ready, so many things to pay out for and do over the next year. :(
  23. Congratulations, jimmer a top bloke. A genuine expert and credit to the zed community.
  24. I expect it's got wet. Have a look for the lighting relay and pull it out, temporary fix.
