  1. If you have dry joints on your speedo or a speed converter is fitted, it can also cause this issue. Hicas ecu is controlled via speed inputs, no speed signal no hicas.
  2. Sounds to me like they are just trying to save themselves money.
  3. Thing is, that's an assumption. You can't guarentee that the person is the same person because of the avatar, I've seen it used by more than one person.
  4. Tbh even having a good quality tyre with a decentvtreadcdepth makes a huge difference, the amount of people you really struggling on budgets, then another person cruises out the very same junction. Noticed that last winter in the traffic.
  5. Sodium bicarbonate is baking soda, it has other uses as well in terms of water chemistry re alkaline management. Don't think that's what's on the road it would fizz when it rained. Referring back to the experiment at school using bicarb and vinegar to make a volcano, rain water has a ph of roughly 6.4 so would create a simular reaction. I suspect what you mean is NaCl sodium chloride ie salt.
  6. I did a fair few miles compared to the previous year myself, hopefully more this summer. If you wait for the right conditions you will never use it. Down here it's either raining, or sunny when the summer sun is out and I mean peeking half the damn country come flooding in like a plague. Sun equals traffic jams round here. Most of my zeding is done early or late in the summer months, cuts down on traffic. Right now though my work can is so dirty after two days the side windows are smeary and after a week its absolutely disgusting with salt and field mud and cow shit and you name it. There was an actually tide mark on it last week. Looked like it had been dipped in chocolate. So the zed is staying firmy tucked up till march.
  7. Most of the grief wasn't from here, the link was nearly posted from Barry boys, rightly or wrongly. That not comment came from Barry boys yeah? Hence why I was confused as to what you were on about when I read your reply. Thing is if your going to modify your car in that way, your going to create marmite. It will polarise opinion because it's a bit extreme. You've gotta expect that, I'd give you a ribbing over its new rave looks :p but it would be just that a ribbing, some banter. As you say it's not mine, I don't drive it what's it matter to me. I also realise you didn't post up pictures of it, ergo asked for no opinions. However as already said, itsca car that will polarise opinions and will stand out. You can now officially say it's loud and in your face as it's been publicly discussed without you prompting it. Wether that was positive or negative is fairly irrelivant. I'm guessing by your screen name and offer of coming to the POD your more of a driver than a shower anyway and that's fine, at least your out there using it. I respect your choice to do something different, however I also reserve my right to dislike it. You probably think mines boring, I don't care tbh and neither should you. Peace.
  8. I was in East Sussex today the roads were like black glass, really nice.
  9. This is a new revelation? Haha a lot of people merely make them louder.
  10. It's very common mate, not stations are seeing more and more cracked/snapped springs apparently it goes hand in hand with the mountainous speed humps appearing. Il be getting Meisters myself, my bilstiens just arn't low enough for me for they will be going up for sale after Christmas.
  11. Just a half cage yeah? I'm very tempted with one myself but I want to retain my interior. The insurance worries me too. The fact it may save my life is the winner.
  12. That's what a club is about, what defines the differences between forum and club.
  13. Hicas is simply a means to create a far sharper turn in like a lightweight small car. It makes the car extremely good at slalom work and was designed around the overtaking manover. Sadly most peoples don't work properly leaving is loose and sluggish. Dependant on your desires, as a track driving propersition or for drifting it can make the car hard to predict as often it causes you to over correct. I've had that a few times leaving me fish tailing and scrabbling at the wheel. It's also speed dependant so don't expect the same results each time. In short hicas takes a lot of getting used to, and even then it can make driving on the limits of grip hard to second guess as it creates a floaty feeling as if it's about to go. If your car is purely to waft along in and occasionally over take and it works, you will probably like it. If you wish to drive harder it's unpredictability will cause you to loose patience with it. It's saved my bacon and caused me heart attacks equal amounts of times.
  14. As above the list is endless. It's best to figure out what your aim is then shoot for it. Breather mods make a big difference in response and power on these cars. Before any mahout modding I sujest you get cambelt etc done.
  15. I only know because I read his other thread :D
  16. Cos it's been chipped ;) not mapped. Zedworld ecu.
  17. Sadly your correct there Steve, we had more cars then that at simply japanese. Japfest is usually a great turnout for z32s and I wil be keeping a close eye on who is attending. Will you be attending yourself this year?
  18. Is that active clients jeff or registrations you've worked on? The backyard breakers are breaking it seems one a month...
  19. Iirc if your running rich the unburnt fuel recycled through the combustion cycle can preingnite, causing dett. Glad it's sorted though, boost leaks are a royal pita.
  20. That would be post turbo. Still not going to help. The cold weather should make your car less like to dett not more, something isn't right. Iirc and you can probably find it, Noel did a write up on generic chips finding most were leaner than preferable in the mid range,
  21. I don't know where that number came from but it seems to be fairly accurate, if that mot guide is accurate +improperly recorded on thier v5 cars could feasibly be circa 7-800
  22. Can I add a track session please Steve? When do you need payment by?
  23. I can't remember how it was worked out but the genera concensus is there are around 800 z32s left in the uk.
